BULLIED
On my way to class I saw some students gathered around Ryan who was doing what he knows how to do best,that is beating up students who refuses him,I was about walking past the scene when I caught up on the words Ryan said.
"listen you ill fated maggot! the next time you ignore me or try to runaway again I will kill you and guess what, nobody will say a word because every single person in crescent moon pack hate your guts, even your brothers hate you to death so I will be doing them a great favour by getting rid of a thorn in their flesh.
Your Mom and Dad won't save you because you would be dead before they arrive so try ignoring me again".
I don't need anyone to tell me it was Maya he was bullying yet again.
For goddess sake I don't know why Maya can't defend herself, my instincts tells me she's stronger than what meets the eye and what she makes everyone believe, there is no way I would be fooled,being the son of the beta of Blood Rose pack wasn't for nothing am smart just like my Dad, but I have to find out myself,I need to see her up close to tell if she was faking to be weak or not.
I walked up to her and said "Maya give me your hand", I could sense her fear, this shows she doesn't trust me, well am no better than Ryan but beating up a girl is not something I would do,not that I cared about Maya being bullied but I just gotta find out why she let herself be bullied.
She finally gave me her hand after so much hesitation. This made everyone speechless by my actions but I could care less. Ryan came over and I could see he's a very pissed wolf right now.
"Nathan what do you think you are doing?, don't tell me you have a thing for this bitch!"
I was beginning to get annoyed but I kept my anger in check for I know the reason for my actions and not what Ryan was saying,I mean I could never have a thing for Maya, there are so many hot and sexy chicks flocking around me so why stoop so low for someone who is weaker than a human even though she's the daughter of our alpha and could be an alpha herself she's nothing but a coward
"That's enough Ryan bullying a weak girl doesn't make you stronger" I said.
I took Maya down the hallway to the girl's restroom so she could tidy up herself. By her expression I could tell she's very nervous and scared with her face down. I lifted her chin with my fingers so I could see her up close. Damn! those deep blue eyes are fierce and intoxicating that you could forget about your existence just by looking at them.
Those eyes to me says she's a fighter, who's scared of nothing. I knew it! she's stronger than what meet's the eye,she's faking to be weak,those eyes are not the eyes of someone who's weak at all so why the hell was she being a Coward and let every pup in the pack bully her.
I came out from my trance and I said "Ryan has no right to beat you up and why the hell don't you fight back?,I mean you are a werewolf and the daughter of the strongest Alpha and if the prophecy is true you are a female Alpha with powers right?".
Okay this wasn't what I wanted to say,talking about being a female Alpha and having some powers that would make her feel am also hating on her because of the prophecy. I never believed in prophecy specially those coming from the pack's witch,there's something very odd about her but I can't really place my hands on it.
Maya wasn't saying anything but I need to hear her say something I need to know the reason she wouldn't fight and so I said "answer me Maya why do you let them bully you,why don't you fight back"? I could sense her anger coming up and she said,"I don't fight back because it wouldn't change anything,it would rather make them hate me the more so why give me a good reason to finish me off".
Wow! who would have thought the weakling got some nerves to answer back,now this is getting interesting,now I got the answers I want,she is a pretender she's strong and fearless but a coward. I walked away happy I satisfied my curiosity and right about my instincts. But I will never understand why she would not show the real her.
"Tsk tsk tsk",
if only Lucas knew his sister is way stronger than him he wouldn't be that proud and arrogant thinking he's the real Alpha. From the look of things am the only one who knows Maya's secret, wow what a genius I am, I really am my father's son. Hold on,what does this mean?, hmmm..... guess I would play dumb too and watch Sam's every move from now on,let's see how long she would last playing the role.
As soon as I left the hall I saw Ryan walking towards me like he would pounce on me. "Nathan! care to explain the meaning of what you did back there few minutes ago?,"
"knock it off Ryan you know she's the daughter of our Alpha and I advice you stop bullying her,she doesn't report all the abuses she gets from members of the pack does not give you an opportunity to do more harm. Have you ever thought of what would happen to you when the Alpha gets to find out what you and other students do to his daughter?".
"If I were you I would be really careful about the way I treat Maya because you don't know when she would revenge all of you. Its an advice Josh."
The next day, Nathan started stalking me for reasons I don't know. "This is new" I said to myself. He would hang around my house and whenever he sees me coming he would want to help me out with whatever shores I was doing.
I was beginning to feel too uncomfortable with the way Nathan was treating me, am sure he's up to something for I rarely get noticed by anyone not to talk of someone trying to talk to me or help me out or whatsoever.
As usual my parents went out for a meeting with neighbouring packs that are in alliance with ours. A perfect timing to be ordered around. Nathan showed up quietly behind me, I knew he was the one and I was Waiting to see what he was up to, and suddenly he tickled me life out of me.
I giggled like a child, "wow" I never thought tickling Someone would make one giggle. I had a hard time believing I giggled that way, it was a first for me.
"You still haven't told me what you want from me Nathan, honestly I have nothing to offer to you. Just come out clean, tell me you have found a different way to torment me as the others.
"Maya, are you that cautious of your surroundings and people?, if so why don't you use some of your observatory talent to defend yourself when you are being attacked by your bullies?".
He has no idea why am holding back, am sure he just wants to find out anything he can from me that he could use against me.
"Thank you for being nice to me Nathan but am okay with my life right now, am the one being bullied not you and not complaining to you or anyone or am I?".
I wouldn't give him the pleasure of giving out anything about me. Have never had friends in my life and am more than sure nobody likes me in my pack so its very weird Jacob is trying to get closer to me.
"Look Maya am sure you only know me as a bully, but trust me I only do that because am bored. Let me be sincere, at first I only wanted to know the reason why you let them bully you because looking at you, I could tell you are not as weak as you look, you can correct me if am wrong I would accept.
But seeing you everyday, accepting your fate, doing shores and acting like everything is okay when your parents are around shows you have got a good heart and you love everyone even though they don't feel same way.
"Aha!"
I knew it!, I knew He was up to something, but he's right, I guess he saw through me,now I know why he has been getting closer to me. He's not as bad as I thought he was.
"Can I call you May?",
Huh?, " Yes you can".Its nice hearing Nathan call me by abbreviating my name.
" So.... friends?",
I smiled widely,, that's so....cool! but can I really trust him?, trying won't hurt I guess.
Nathan and I became good friends but that cost him his own friends which increased the hate they had for me. He was told to make to either choose me or them and surprisingly he chose me.
I feel honoured to be chosen as a friend and so far Nathan has shown me how genuine he was to our friendship.
We trained together, with Nathan I was not afraid to show off my fighting skills.
The first time we had a duel he won.
"See? am a good fighter".
" Oh yeah!?, Now watch me", I lunged at him tackling him to the ground with one swift move.
I chuckled heartily seeing how shocked Nathan looked,he never saw that coming, I laughed to my my hearts content.
We spent everyday after school together, training or going down to the lake close to the pack's forest.
One afternoon after class we decided to race up the mountain. By the time we got there we slumped down on a rock panting heavily.
"Nate why did you decide for a race today,its sunny and hot".
" Nothing" Nathan said chuckling,
"You are kidding right?, how about I throw you down the mountain I said jokingly.
"Okay lady Alpha, I just wanted to invite you officially to my coming of age ceremony next week", wow....Nathan will be eighteen soon.
"That's so good to hear big guy, am honoured to be invited future Beta", I said by making a gesture by placing my right hand to my chest.
Nathan is a year older than I so its great I get to attend his coming of age ceremony first I said to myself smiling.
