Chapter two

"My princess are you alright?" I hear one of the new maid say behind me she's never seen this, another one stops her. They all go silent, they won't touch me because they know that my mother has gone to far this time.

" Put the letter on my bed, I'm going for a ride." I command in a firm, low voice. I walk with a brisk pace to the barn, to the stable that I used to sit in when I felt like the whole world was collapsing, where I cried when by father was locked behind doors, as he suffered. I grabbed the bridal from the hook for that's all I needed I put it on my strong, dabbled, and gray stallion, Cisco. I through my leg over his back and he takes of into the path we have ran a hundred times before.  As we travel we leave the large castle and blue barn behind us.

As we start to slow down my anger has not disappeared completely but has depleted. My mother never knew I did this but I would take Cisco neer the main town. I look up at the sky, blue,   calm as the takes steps forward I feel the rhythm of his walk 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4. The branches from the overhead cherry trees drop elegant pink pedals on and around me. We walk out from behind the last tree and I look out at the city my caramel colored hair blowing in the wind, the braid I had done earlier that morning falling out. The city full of life horses and carriages on the roads where cars used to drive before generations ago when we started to ban any vehicles that released  greenhouse gasses. A girl sits on a rock a little bit away admiring the landscape as well.

"Hey, how are you?"

She turns around and jumps into action.

"I-I'm good your majesty."

"No need for formalities dear"

"Ok princess, I'm fine. Is there a reason your out here?"

"No I just needed some space from everything you know."

"Yay I get that, I have to go princess my apologies thanks for the talk, bye."

For some reason my mind flashed back to one day when I had found and old American history book I had found. Now a days they were hard to come by, so I couldn't stop my self from reading it. Honestly the old photos where SO different from how it looked now. I remember looking at all of the old states that made up our kingdom know, I look at all the old history, it was unbelievable how much changed, old state language, and even traditions. I trued my hardest to pin point were the castle was on the old map. When I looked at the individual state maps I found myself locating the castle some were that used to be called Boon, Boon was in the state of North Carolina. Most of the features were the same, but some had very different land marks due to natural erosion. I look over the mountains, what would it have been like to live then the see the old

"Appalachian Mountains."

...

I return home and go to my room where the letter sits on my plush and freshly cleaned bed. I pick it up and sit on the balcony with its glass and white painted metal railing. I open the letter, calmer now than I was before,I read the letter.

My dearest daughter Rayanna,

I would like to inform you that I will be referring soon with 6 princes and 5 other princesses. All of them will be staying in our castle for the event. The point of this event is to put together couples of princess and princesses who are having trouble finding a king or queen on their own. We resorted to this instead of arrange marriage in this at least you get somewhat of a choice of who you marry. You should be thankful, I worked so hard to convince them that you were desperate. I'll be returning in a few days with everyone, so make sure you don't do anything stupid while I'm gone.

Your loving mother,

The Queen

"Loving" I scoff " now that's funny.
