We Need To Choose A New King

"You're courting your death."

Prince Hans laughing so hard. He looks at him like an eagle, sharp and ready to attack. After stop laughing, he said with a serious tone in his voice. "I'll be a new king, why don't you join me? I'll give you rank, women, money. Just name it."

Hayden smirking. "You're not my king. I've been given a mission and I'm on my mission now. Unfortunately, my mission is bound me with my life. If you want me badly, then kill me. Touch her and you'll die!"

Hans knows Hayden is very loyal to the king. Having him will be an advantage to him and ruling this kingdom will be smooth if he can have him at his side. However, that old man already put him into a mission where he needs to finish it no matter what happens. With a calm face, he said.

"Such a shame then. Kill them both." He instructs his soldier to attack.

A large group of men starts to draw out their weapon and attacking Hayden. Hayden did not bat an eye while fighting. He uses his strength to kill them all.

While he's busy fighting, two of the soldiers forcefully taken princess Yuina down. She was forced to bend her body on the ground.

"Hay...Hayden." She calls Hayden's name while crying. Her body was so hurt as the men squeezed their feet on her back and her arm has been pull by these two men making her more in pain.

Turning around, Hayden's eyes become colder than the iceberg. He swung his sword to both of the men with speed and the sword flying through the air and cut their body apart. Their blood was splat on the ground.

Thud!

His sword hit the brick wall. He then kicking and jumping to fight all of the soldiers while trying to get the princess which is almost be behead by one of the soldiers.

One of the soldiers rises high up his sword. Ready to swing it on the princess's neck. When he started to swing the blade, his hand suddenly felt so much in pain when General Hayden crush his wrist with his bare hand.

Crack!

"I've said before. Touch her and you'll die!" He staring at the man before he throws him to the side and his head smash at the pillar.

Grab the princess's waist, he fights using his one hand while another one hand is holding her tight like carrying a cat. Yuina couldn't help but feel a bit dizzy with the unstable move being carry by Hayden.

"Princess, there are so many soldiers. We can't keep killing those innocent lives. Your order, princess?" He said when he sees another group approaching him.

Even in this dire situation, he still knew their value of lives. They just a mere soldier who need to follow an order from their higher up. It's not like most of them willing to kill them both.

"Retreat for now. Let's leave this castle." She said with her teary eyes.

"Right away, princess." He runs to the brick wall, pull out his sword and he jumps back to the rooftop.

One of the archers manages to shoot him at the legs with his arrow. However, he did not flinch at all. He pulls out the arrow and keeps on going. Running and find the way out of the castle.

When he leaves the garden, Lord Albert instructs more soldier to search for them and do not wake the important guest. Prince Hans leaves the garden and went to search for any scroll about princess betrothal to the new king. He needs to destroy the evidence first.

Hayden put princess Yuina down when they arrive at the small alleys in the back inside the castle areas. The castle is too big. They need to be careful while searching for the way out.

"Psst! Psst!" Someone calling them.

In alert mode, Hayden hides the princess behind his back. "Who' there?" He asks in a slow tone, yet so firm.

One of Yuina servant slowly shows her face. She was worried about Yuina when she heard something had happened at the main castle. She was just done doing the laundry at the back of the castle.

"It's me, Lord Hayden." She bows her head.

"Casey." Yuina went to her and hug a little. Glad she still okay.

"Quick. Change your attire with me. I'll distract them." She pulls Yuina hands to the room behind them.

"Is it okay if you do that?" Yuina asks, she still pales as a sheet of paper and her body trembling because of the great shock from what's happening before.

"Erm. It's okay. Many of your servants have been killed by the soldier. All servant who refuses to follow them will be executed. So, no worries. I believe in you." She smiles brightly. She is an orphan. Being killed is not a problem for her.

Hayden looks at them both. "Hurry. I'll turn around." He said and turn his body around while Yuina changes her attire. Grab a few cloaks and a sling bag to put a few supplies, she and Hayden continue to find a way out of the castle.

Once they arrive at the back gate, a group of an elite soldier patrolling around that area.

"Damnit, they're everywhere." Hayden hides behind the wall follow by Yuina and Casey. He can't go to the horse stable right now because his black horse is injured.

At the front gate of the castle is filled with higher-up and fancy places, there's a lot of richest staying at the Diamond city. All of the famous and richest family around the kingdom, have at least one property in that place. Behind the castle is surrounded by the thick forest. And the forest will lead to the Emerald and Zircon city. Two different tribes.

Hayden is from Zircon city, thus he decides to take shelter at his City first. To go there, he needs to pass the back gate. With so many elite soldiers, he sure he can beat them all but he can't guarantee about princess's safety. His priority is the safety of the princess, thus, he can't act recklessly.

"Lord Hayden, I would attract their attention and meanwhile, you should bring the princess away from this castle," Casey said. She ready to run to attract their attention.

"Be careful then." He nods his head and lifts up Yuina by her waist. Yuina is too slow to run. They only had a few minutes to get away, so, to not wasting their time, he would carry her instead.

Casey also nods her head. She uses the hood to hide her face and run from the small alleys to attract the elite soldier's attention.

"There is a princess! Hurry! Catch her!" One of them shouted and not long after a group of elite soldier runs to her direction.

Using this opportunity, Hayden dashes out from the alleys. He thought all of the soldiers have run to the other side, but he was wrong when there is still an archer group at the rooftop of the building.

Swoooshhh!

"Damn!" He moves Yuina from his arm to his front body for her to hold him tight.

"Clinging on to my body. Hide your head." He gives instruction. Yuina follows his order with clinging on his body. She wrapped her hand on his neck and wrapped her legs around his waist.

Hayden took out his sword and start to swing at each arrow that flying to them. His left foot is still injured but he needs to ignore it first.

The arrows start to increase. Not having a choice, he had to use his strength to blow them and open the path. He whispers to Yuina. "Close your eyes. Don't open it no matter what."

Yuina still follows his order. She closes her eyes. When he feels like she already closes her eyes, he tightens his grip on the sword handle. His bloodlust raises up within his every nerve. His pupils turn to a black color and his face turn to terrifyingly malignant.

The soldier knew this situation, the tales about the great general is a monster seems to be true. He raises his sword and swings it to the air. Within a second, a big thunder struck the gate and the ground shaken and split.

Booommm!

The soldier who attacks him from behind immediately hold their weapon. Not daring to attack him again. Who would? One swing brings a big thunder to strike! If he provokes him by attacking him again, for sure they won't survive tonight!

He ran through the gate with no soldier following him. Once he reaches the forest area, he said to Yuina again. "We're already out of the castle. Can you run on your foot?"

Yuina opens her eyes and nods her head slowly. With careful, he put Yuina down on the ground. Hold her hand, he starts running through the thick forest.

Hearing a loud thunder coming from the sky, Prince Hans curling his lips up a bit.

"Seems you successfully escape, huh, Hayden?"

"My lord, Princess Yuina and General Hayden are confirmed are out from the castle. What is our next move?" Lord Albert stand straight beside Prince Hans. He has been watch Prince Hans since he was sent away by King Edward to study at the void castle far away from the main castle. He was likely being kicked because he was an orphan, his adopted father had committed a great crime when he attacks the Onyx kingdom and causes a lot of lives lost that day.

This kingdom wins the victory but as soon King Edward is lifting as a new King, he makes a new rule, this kingdom will never get engaged in battle. He gives a large of compensation to the kingdom where they had been attacking before. Land, money, and supplies. This brings unsatisfied to firstborn of the previous King. Prince Robert. He makes a ruckus and as a result, he and his wife had been executed and his adopted son is sent far away from the main castle.

"Alert the aristocrat and all general. We need to choose a new king for the next few days. We'll tell them that General Hayden kills the King and run away with the princess."
