Chapter 15D: Jerusalem, December 2037

We were in the medical room of the Templar Headquarters. It was the middle of the night, and no one was in, which was a great relief. It would have been stressful to explain who Sabina was and what had happened to James and Michael. I sent a message to Simona with instructions. 'Simona, I hope that you closed the door behind you when you left? I have sent you $5 million to your SplitCoin account. Use that money to start a new life somewhere else." I wrote.

'Yes. Thank you, Martin!' Simona replied.

I put away the phone and turned towards Sabina. "Please get on the operation table, and I'll stitch you up. I must warn you. I am not a medical professional and you might need urgent medical attention." I stated.

"No. I am chased by the government and I have a priceless magical artefact in my possession. Besides, you killed four people. We need to stay under the radar." Sabina replied.

I reflected over how this young woman could sound like a seasoned professional. Sabina was wrong about one thing. She wasn't pursued by the government as Ben Yehuda had deleted her official record. Regardless it was better to stitch up her wounds here, as a hospital visit, would bring up a lot of questions.

"Okay, then. Get up on the table, and I'll stitch you up." I said.

Sabina complied and got on the operation table without a word.

I put on gloves, and I pluck all the bullets that were hanging out from Sabina's torso like pins to a pinboard. After that, I used a scissor to cut up her sweatshirts.

I studied Sabina's body, cover by shallow wounds. I noticed that Sabina had a very tight and luscious body. I stopped myself, and I felt appalled by myself thinking this way. Sabina was severely wounded, and she was likely to be my biological daughter. I reminded myself that I needed to save a sample of her blood so that I could to a paternity test if I got out of this mess alive.

"This will hurt a lot; do you need some morphine?" I asked.

"No. I need to keep a clear head for the challenges ahead." Sabina stated.

I nodded, and I poured disinfectant alcohol solution into Sabina's wounds before stitching her up. I could tell that Sabina was in pain from the agonised expression of her face, but she didn't say anything. I finished my task an hour later. Stitches and bandages covered Sabina's body.

"Make sure to find a discreet medical professional when you get out of here to get it properly done," I advised.

"Thank you, Martin," Sabina replied.

Sabina got seated and looked at me. She tried to grab my hand. Knowing about Sabina's powers, I pulled my hand away. Sabina didn't comment on my reluctance to her touch, and instead, she changed the topic. "So, how come you helped Ben Yehuda when you didn't like his plan for the Middle East?" Sabina asked.

I reflected on my options, and I decided to tell Sabina the truth.

"I came across some Zetan deities 18 years ago. They told me to find Keila Eisenstein. A few years later, I found out about the primordial Zeto Crystal, and that I needed to find it to stop the apocalypse." I replied.

"So, we are both looking to achieve the same thing?" Sabina said and smiled.

"Yes. It seems that way." I replied.

"So, what do we do now?" Sabina asked.

"I am finished. The others will come after me for betraying them. We need to get you out of here and get the Zeto Crystal to safety." I urged.

"Do you have any plan for that?" Sabina asked.

"Yes, you're in luck. Ben Yehuda kept all your possessions in his private house. I can access the Mossad database from there and delete your record. After that, we can leave Israel." I replied.

"Very well, let's get going," Sabina said and got back on her feet.

Sabina's energy and determination impressed me, but I didn't say anything. I grabbed my pistol, and we headed towards Ben Yehuda's house.

"You'd better stay here," I said.

"Why is that?" Sabina asked.

"Ben's house is full of security cameras. I don't want his brother to find out about you." I replied. "Okay. I'll stay here." Sabina said

I got into the house. Finding Sabina's possessions were the easy part. But how would I delete the computer drives if I couldn't access the computer? If Simona was here, she could have helped, but she wasn't. I hoped that she had left the country.

I decided to blow up the place. I hoped that would be enough to destroy the drives. I set some C4 explosives, ran outside and blew up the building. After that, I hurried to Sabina. She gave me a frightened look. "What did you do?

"I collected your bag and blew up the building to get rid of the evidence. Hurry up!" I exclaimed, and I handed Sabina her backpack. The moment I gave it to her, I felt a piercing pain in my back. and I heard a shot.

"Hurry up, I'll delay them." I urged. Sabina made a run for it, and I picked up my pistol to fire back at the attackers.

I didn't stand a chance. I didn't wear my monocle as I didn't want to expose my real affiliation to Sabina, and without it, I wasn't a master marksman. A few seconds later, I was panting for air on the ground, as I got hit by several bullets. The agents ran up to me and kicked away the pistol from me, and everything turned black.
