Chapter-68 Ten-Masters Clan Conference pt-3

(A/N:-Before reading this chapter, keep in mind that just because Erik is powerful and have high intellect doesn't mean others are dumb or weak.)

Inside a large hall illuminated by a high chandelier, stood a couple of powerful individuals. The room was located at the very top of the hotel, the conference room to be specific.

Every year, the various clan leaders would gather here to chose the next Ten-Masters Clan.

Typically, the clans bearing the 'Ten' in their name would remain one of the Ten, very rarely would the titles change in case another clan overtakes the growth of a Ten-Masters Clan.

Anyway, so every prominent clan including the rather "seclusive" Yotsuba family were present in the room.

Elder Retsu, being the [Magical Advisor] of the government and the "Leader" of the [Japanese Magic Community], gently clanked the wine glass using a spoon.

Immediately, the sound of the clank attracted the attention of the individuals as they quieted down.

"I welcome you all to the Ten-Masters Clan Conference, tonight we all have gathered within this room to choose the next Ten-Masters Clan."

"Since the conference last year, a lot of changed and many of the "Numbered" clans have showcased potential good enough to overtake the previous Ten-Masters Clan."

"We will access the feasibility of replacing the old ones with the new ones and chose the best course of action through mutual agreement."

"I declare the beginn—"

"Oh! Will you ever shut up Old Man!?....

(Retsu POV)

I looked towards the source of the voice, laying my eyes on the one who interrupted the commencing of the conference.

"May I ask, What is someone like you doing here, Dr.Eriskiel?..."

"After all, you are a wanted man. You interrupting the meet of the strongest forces within the country, seem a bit suicidal."

I wonder if this crazy bastard has finally gone insane after years of experimenting on innocent people.

Even if I very much doubt it, I can say one thing for certain, he will not be leaving the hotel...alive.

"Haha!.....Even though you don't show it, I can feel your killing intent Retsu! You must be thinking about killing me, don't you?"

Tch!

Crazy bastard!

He doesn't have even a shred of humanity in him!

"Well, I don't see a reason why not?"

You do deserve to be killed right this instance, unfortunately, I know that if you dare come here then you must have full confidence in your abilities to hold everyone in this room.

And that is precisely what prevents me from executing you this very second.

Surely the Ten-Masters Clan, we are no better than scums for the things we have done and do. But the crimes and inhumane experiments you have carried out makes us pale in comparison.

"You don't see a reason why? I will give you one; because you can't harm a single hair of mine! Haha!...."

*Crash*

(Major Kazama POV)

"Mr.Saltzman, a surprise to see you here, a pleasant encounter of course. Your late father would be proud to see the heights you have achieved at such a young age...." (Kazama)

Hmm....Erik Saltzman, a VERY influential businessman and a talented magician, first one from his family to be exact.

I have worked together with his father on a few projects, a brilliant person he was and he even produced a brilliant son. Unlike his late father, Erik seems to be much more active in communicating with the magician.

Lately, his latest project has garnered a lot of attention from all over the world. [Dream Chaser Technology], as he calls it is a rather revolutionary idea which if implemented correctly can shake the foundation of modern-day technology.

Unfortunately, the Japanese government is very interested in the research and would have even invested a lot of money if only the technology was being developed by any other individual.

The Saltzman Empire doesn't need money, that's the one thing that they have the most in the world, not to mention the influence they have all over the world.

The government would have very well tried to monopolize this technology but when faced with someone as big as the [Saltzman Corporation], even they are helpless.

This influence was one of the reasons why the Saltzman family held so much power, being neigh untouchable by government and magicians alike.

"It is an honour to meet you, Major Kazama. I have heard a lot about you from my father." (Erik)

"Haha.....Mr.Saltzman was one of kind. Anyway, any particular reason for attending today's party? I know that you don't really attend parties." (Kazama)

"Actually yes, I do have a particular reason to attend the party today. I just conversed with Elder Retsu, needed his assistance in a few things." (Erik)

"Now I am waiting for the end of the conference so that we can discuss a few minor details, isn't that so, Minoru?" (Erik)

I looked towards Elder Retsu's grandson who stood next to Erik, seeing him nod confirms the former's statement.

Looks like he is planning something, I wonder what?

What can attract Elder Retsu's attention for him to personally help in Erik's project?

I don't have a good feeling about this.

"Hello everyone, I hope I am not interrupting anything?" (Kyouko)

(Erik POV)

I turned towards the new arrival, only to see a beautiful woman with blue eyes, wearing a dazzling blue dress.

Fujibayashi Kyouko, the [First Lieutenant] in the [101 Independent Magic-Equipped Battalion]. She is Minoru's half-sister and also a very good friend of Tatsuya.

Also nicknamed as "Electron Sorceress'".

She is a member of the Fujibayashi Family, a Branch Family of the Kudou, which is formerly one of the Ten Master Clans.

She is the daughter of the Fujibayashi Family and granddaughter of Kudou Retsu.

Thanks to her military training, she possesses a magnificent figure that most people dare not look at too openly, yet her amicable attitude, mundane wardrobe, and a small amount of makeup that covers her delicate facial features allow anyone to comfortably converse with her.

She possesses a smile that can perfectly display her dazzling features.

Like her grandfather, Kudou Retsu, Kyouko has a mischievous and crafty side, but also a playful nature for her personality. 

"No, you aren't interrupting us, we were done conversing anyway. It was nice meeting you, Major Kazama." (Erik)

I politely excused myself, I had to meet up with Juumonji, his control over his new power has increased quite a lot but it's not enough.

"Mr.Saltzman! When will we discuss the project you introduced my grandfather? I help arrange his schedule so a heads up would be great!" (Minoru)

I couldn't help but let out a smile, even though you deliberately switched the focus of the topic.

I know that you are anxious about being 'fixed' but these things take time. After all, I first need to absorb lots of vitality from others before I can heal you.

"Very soon, Kudou-san.....I still need to deal with a few things first before focusing on the project. You know, results are hard to achieve without enough preparation."

"I will be seeing you and Elder Retsu soon."

"Now if you will excuse me...." (Erik)
