The Extra Hero

I was living a pretty normal life until I was struck by lightning and died. But unexpectedly, I reincarnated. Not only that, but I reincarnated in a novel I read... as an extra named Ian Wyzen. At first, I thought everything was normal until I realized... "Why does this guy have a Hero title?" ... the extra whose body I reincarnated into seemed to be a Hero.

Death

Today is a Lazy Day.

No work to do, no pressure to take; I fondly named these days Lazy Day.

My morning began around 9:15 A.M., and it felt wonderful not to wake up with a sore body from sleeping on uncomfortable couches and chairs.

Like every Lazy Day, the first thing I did was brush my teeth and take a refreshing cool shower.

In the process, it was inevitable not to face a mirror.

My black hair was wet, and my eyes, with their usual glitter, were elevated by my beautiful eyebrows. My spotless face had a sharp nose, delicate lips, and a sharp jawline.

With a happy mood, I went to the kitchen and made a cup of tea and some bread and eggs.

I sat in the chair, held the cup of coffee, and took a sip.

It was sugary and filled with flavor.

"Just how I like it," I reminisced with a smile.

Ding-!!

At that moment, my phone vibrated in my pocket, and I raised an eyebrow as I retrieved it to read a message:

[We need to break up.]

"Wow," I exclaimed. "It was faster than I thought."

Ami was my girlfriend whom I have been in a relationship with for the past three months, and she works in the same company as me.

One day, due to losing a bet with my friends, I proposed to her, and she actually had a hidden crush on me and accepted.

And me, being someone who goes with the flow, just accepted the situation, flexing on my single friends.

But since I was not kind of serious about her or our relationship, it was natural for us to break up.

[Ok.]

What could I say?

Even though I had started to develop feelings towards her, it didn't make me too sad. Just a little bit, which would barely last a day or two at max.

Also, this was not my first breakup. Now that I think about it, never has my relationship lasted very long. Six months at max.

Then, I continued my day, doing nothing but lazing around.

.

.

Ding-!!

My phone, placed on the table, vibrated as I reached for it.

There was another message:

[Yo. Sorry to disturb your day, but an important job has come. There are these rich old couples who want to redesign their first house. I want you to take a look. Also, I have already sent the location.]

My eyes narrowed in dissatisfaction as I read the message.

It was from Max, my boss, who at first was my good friend but after Ami accepted my proposal, he turned into an enemy, making my life harder whenever he could.

Though dissatisfied, I checked the location. 'It will probably take around an hour to reach there."

I checked the time, and it was currently 5:23 P.M.

"It's better to go now."

I then swiftly changed my dress and took the key to my car with my laptop and phone as I went out of the house.

As I went out, a gloomy sunlight greeted me.

"Seems like it is going to rain."

The sky was cloudy, filled with dark clouds, and rumbling could be heard from time to time.

I went to my car and drove towards the location.

.

.

At night, the two-story house loomed in the darkness with a cloudy sky, giving off an eerie aura. It had the appearance of a haunted place.

Looking at it, I felt something good is not going to happen.

"Tch."

Disregarding my feelings, I went inside the house.

Before entering the house, I remembered to bring my laptop with me.

I started to visit all rooms and check everything I could check.

Soon, I reached the top floor, and sat down with my legs dangling in the air.

Then, I started making a document.

With the final sentence, I saved the document and closed my laptop. Glancing at the time, it was 8:23 P.M. "I should get going." As I was about to stand up, my phone vibrated once again.

I checked the notification:

[A new chapter has been released.]

.

.

"Man, the author sure has guts; he actually killed the main heroine," I grumbled. "What's with this novel?"

The novel I was reading was titled "Saga of the Reincarnated Hero."

It was the story of a past Hero who was reincarnated in the future with most of his memories sealed as he deals with old problems of his past life while finding the mysteries of his world with the reason of his reincarnation.

At first, I thought it was the same old cliche plot, but this world where the story is set is massively stupid and breaks common sense.

And at this point in the story, many things have already happened, and main characters were dropping dead like flies with a happy ending miles away.

Then, I read some comments, and it was filled with curses for the author killing the main heroine. Then I commented myself and, after giving some encouraging words and voting, I stood up and stretched my back and cracked my back.

"It's time t-."

I couldn't finish as a sudden rumble resounded, and lightning struck from the cloudy sky, causing me to lose consciousness.
