Chapter 3

Her body falls to the ground, breaking the silence. The whole hallway erupts into a frenzy of scared, angry, and vengeful kids. I'm soon consumed by a tsunami of children. I search for my family but suddenly the crowd stops. Armed men confiscate and kidnap children it's a sprawl not to get caught and I have to find Sarah and get her out safely.

"SARAH!!" I scream frantically and looking frantically I'm starting to cry, and I am halfway through the 3rd Zone. I hear so many screams, so much chaos, it's numbing. I can't feel anything but fear, what happens when they catch us? I can't think about that. I sprint straight through the 2nd Zone. I reach the opening to Zone 1, Sarah is here she has to be, I can't lose her.

I see their class huddled in a corner I take her by the arm, and I leave with her. But I can't just leave those children petrified. I tie a rope to all of the kindergarteners.

"Don't lose sight of each other; okay?" I say in a demanding voice, and I lead the kindergarteners out into the exit. I look back and check if everyone is here; thank the lord, everyone is safe and accounted for.

"That's my big brother!" Sarah boasts to her classmates.

We arrive outside and I take a seat and breathe for a second. I stand up and travel back in.

"Where are you going?!" Sarah asks while sobbing.

"Hey, others need to be helped just as much as you do." I smile and I pat her head.

I'm running helping people and directing them to the nearest exit. I completed my rotation around Zone 1, and I am so relieved that everyone got out safe and sound. I go over to Zone 2 to see if anyone is in need. It's quiet, I noticed while my run to Zone 1, but I must've been nearsighted and deafened by the screams echoing and being amplified through the hallways. I search around, it's like it had been abandoned; I almost had a breath of relief, but I noticed a feature that was too blatant to be overlooked. They busted the Locks and took the students. But why isn't there any screaming its too many kids to be taken that quickly? I run into a dark class, and I see rows and rows of middle schoolers. How many 200? 500? 10000? I run to free the students. I manage to get a few free and they assist me with the remaining students. And some would go into other rooms to save their fellow classmates.

"Go run please!!" I yell in a concerned and demanding tone.

"help… can't…feel…. legs…."

I jerk my head back so quickly that I think I might have popped it. I run into the girls the bathroom and find a tan-skinned girl with a bullet wound in the leg. I run to her and I rip off a sleeve from my jacket, I tie her leg up with it and I carry her on my back. Running with her side by side would be too long we'd be caught for sure. I sprint and guide people out to the nearest exits. I reach the nearest exit.

"RAAAAAHHHHHH" bullets shatter the glass door and start charging in we make a break for the roof. Our people are waiting with blankets ready for jumpers, one by one everyone jumps. I almost jump but only one jumper per blanket. No time they're on my flank, too close. I turn her around and I smile and tell her.

"live."

And I push her into a blanket she falls screaming but it's inaudible. I hope she makes it. I hope everyone does. I feel a hand caress my neck as I'm pulled back and pushed down to hit the ground.

"Be strong my child" The voice is now clear and passionate.
