5 Prologue (5)

I examined him with great interest. "Would you mind telling me your name?" I asked. He placed his palms in his tight pockets.

"Flin." He cut his answer very short.

"As in F-L-Y-N-N?" I questioned.

"F-L-I-N."

"..." I chuckled internally. What kind of parents name their kid after a typo?! Well, it wasn't that funny. Anyway, He seemed to have good intent or at least did a great job pretending. I wonder... "How much would it take for me to hire you?" I poked a question at him not expecting an actual answer.

He showed signs of actually thinking this over. I gave some time until he responded, "Forty-million a year. No bonuses. No contracts. No questions."

I wasn't surprised at the price; I knew that his former client was already paying him around thirty million per year. "Alright, deal. If you can get me out of here safely, I can raise it seventy mil. How about it?"

He shrugged his shoulders, "Sure." He, then, brought out his gun again. His eyes swept across the area looking for any targets. Once he found all the 'obstacles', he started to fire. From point-blank range to over fifteen meters, all the shots were clean. The bullet ripped through the air and through the other guards skulls. The blood provoked many of the seated individuals to have various reactions. Some were vomiting, some were on their knees trying to prevent the bullet from finding them. I pitied those who thought they would die a clean death. They were in for something more... eccentric. After Flin fired exactly thirty-nine bullets, he pulled the safety over the gun and put it back in his pocket. "The jobs done. All the other guards are either running, or passed out due to shock."

I smiled at him, "Good. As for the guards who ran, I want you to track each one of them down after we get out, of course." Flin made his down the steps and joined me by my side.

There was another small voice that came out of the crowd, "Do we get to leave... safely... since we complied with your demands?"

Turning my head slightly, I see it is the same women that was wearing the Japanese dress as before. I gestured Flin to follow me as I strode towards the two, now opened, twin doors.

"Grey, please you can't do this. I have children! Please! I'll do whatever you want!" Edward was still by my feet. His once handsome face was now ruined by complete terror and shock.

I replied bluntly, "All of these people also have children, don't they? So, what makes you so special?" His head suddenly jerked up. His widened to the point where I thought they would pop out of his head.

"No! I can help! Please! I was the former treasurer of the RG group! I … I can fi--"

BANG!

"Shut up." Flin stood beside me with his gun pointing at Edward. I looked at him and gave him a nod.

"Weak minds do not belong where we will go." I peered back at the entire crowd and focused in on the lady. "To answer your question: No."

She seemed a bit taken back, she gritted her teeth and said, "You lied to us."

I laughed out loud, so every one could hear. "Do I seem like the virtuous type of man?" Flin let out a soft chuckle as well. "Also, think about it. You all signed my name in your wills. The same wills that will be there until YOU die. If you were in my shoes would you wait to collect your inheritance?"

She looked at me in disgust, "You... you are nothing but a devil! You don't deserve to be alive!"

I walked real close to her until I could hear her heart beating. I placed my mouth right next to her ear, and whispered, "But, you gave this devil your soul, didn't you?"

I backed off very slowly. Her face was covered in tears as my finger came in close contact with the remote.

She opened her lips one last time and softly pleaded, "Please." The last few words faded into air. I pressed the button.

You could hear gasps from every single soul inside the room, except for me and Flin. We all waited in silence to see what would happen. And it happened soon. People left and right started to scream. Cardiac arrests, strokes, organ failure were galore. Those who had late effects fainted from shock, and later died as well. People dropped like flies. I was in the center of it all, experiencing the cries for help and mercy. The scene went on for a couple more minutes before ever-growing silence emerged in the hall.

I could see those who had avoided the drug hiding in the piles of bodies. It was amusing. It was as if I had stumbled upon an innocent childhood game of hide-and-seek. Except now the stakes were higher, getting found was the equivalent to death. It was also a bit more different because I had Flin. He could hear them breathe. He could hear their hearts pound against their rib cage. He could hear them silently praying to god. I giggled, but there would be not a god here. Only a devil.

I snapped my fingers, and Flin came closer. "Take good care of them."

Click! The safety came off of the gun. "Will do."

As gunshots rang all about me, I stared at the women in the Japanese dress. She was now laying on the ground; her dress was crumpled and stained. Her face was covered in blood pouring from her jet black hair. Her slender eyes were closed; almost tranquil if not for all the surrounding mess. Just as I turned my head, I realized something. I didn't even get her name.
