PATCH-UP

Sitting in his car at 2:00.a.m, Humayun is looking forward to her arrival, outside of the Hospital. He notes the timings of her arrival from the internet and comes to know that being a general surgeon, she herself also works in her own hospital. As he sees her busy looking for her car keys while departing from the Hospital, he gives a horn, again and again which insists her to turn and look back. He has turned on the car lamp to be seen clearly and recognized easily. She stops and glances at him for a while and doesn't consume more than a minute to recognize him. He moves the car closer to her and unlocks the door. She thinks a couple of times before sitting but seems blissful. The car moves on a long route at a high speed.

After a few minutes have passed, he breaks the ice with a polite smile,

"How are you?"

"Fine!"

She replies with a short answer, staring concentratedly at his face. The car stops in front of a large showroom.

"This is what was my dream once!"

She still keeps quiet but feels really joyful and astounded. He picks up a cake box from the back seat and says,

"I didn't see the Man In Black again."

"He was dead after Sara broke!"

She replies promptly.

"Oh! How glad!"

He says with an ironic smile.

"Did you get married?"

He asks.

"No, did you?"

She replies with a question.

"Yes!"

He replies suppressing a cheerful smile. Astounded, she asks,

"Oh! What is her name?"

"Sara! You broke my heart into thousands of pieces that night. I accept I was wrong but I could not imagine leaving you and just wanted you to leave The Man In Black for me but you left me for him."

He says emotionally with slight tears in eyes.

"Really Sorry! I just … I was mad!"

Then he opens the cake-box and reveals the creamy words written over,

"Would you Marry me?"

They look at one another with a pretty blissful smile.
