New skill

As I started to think of a way to become stronger and get my revenge I heard a gurgling coming from my belly, because of the adrenaline I didn't even notice that I didn't eat anithyng for hours and finally that sensation of hunger that every human knows came to me, even if immortal I still fealt hunger and not eating for many days would probably weaken me.

"Ehi System, is there something that I can eat in this forest ?" I asked full of hope.

'You're immortal, why don't you try some berries and see what happens' answered the System with a voice that seemed strangely annoied.

Unsure of the reason for the change in the tone of the System I throught for a second if following it's instruction was really the right thing to do, only to realize that I didn't had better ideas, I was too weak to even try to hunt, so the berries were the only food I could eat.

After I carefully exited the cave I was hidden in I started to head toward the east side of the forest, since the bear was probably at the elk carcass that was situated at ovest.

After wandering for a while I finally individuated some green berries, they looked eatable so after gathering all my courage I ate some of them.

"Mhh they are pretty good, they have the same flavor as bluberries " After thinking this I started to cough a little.

While returning to the cave with the newly aquired green berries I felt more and more sick, the situation became so unbearable that as soon as I reached the cave I let the berries roll on the ground just to lay my body on the rocky ground.

Since the moon was tall in the sky I decided to sleep a bit.

The next day...

As I woke up in confusion I saw many staines of blood all around me, touching my face I could also sense some dry blood that probably dripped from my nose and my eyes.

"Well, with this I'm pretty sure that these berries are poisonous, good to know" while saying this I looked up my head just to see a message screen similar to 'status' on it there was a single phase.

"This is new, System can you explain that skill to me?" I asked.

'Sure user, Poison tollerance lets the user resist to poison better, if the level rise high enought it can evolve into Poison immunity' This time the System aswered calmly and apathetic as always, did I just heard wrongly yestarday or there was something shady underneath this change?

'Maybe one day I will find out' I thought hoping the System didn't hear my thoughts.

One week after...

"Finally with this stick this tent is completed" after saying that I dried the sweat that formed on my front and looked toward the little tent in front of me, made from giant leaves, robust sticks and long vines to hold it together.

It took 3 days to find all the materials and 1 day to build it, the cave I was staying in soon turned out to be the den of some others animals, since it was disseminate with bones, so for security I decided to escape in advance, after wandering around the forest for 3 days I found again the lake of the first day and decided to build home here, since I was also quite thirsty I imagined this as a stroke of luck.

Now that my tent (temporary home) was built the only thing that remained for me to do was to became more powerfull.

"Let's take a look at my status" I said.

"It seems that all the hardwork I did in order to build this tent brought something " I said while feeling quite happy, all the hardwork helped my stats rise and since I continued eating the green berries my Poison tollerance has increased by 2 level, now these berries had almost no effect on me.

A strange thing that I noticed was that apart from the huge elk and the shadow bear I didn't see any others strange animals around me, while wandering the forest the only animals I've seen were some deers, some squirrels, some birds and some snakes, and all of them were normal.

"System, why I haven't seen any magical creature here apart from the shadow bear and the elk he was eating ? " I asked.

'It's because at the moment the world is very young and the energy it has is small, it isn't enough for the animals to evolve, only a few lucky beasts can evolve for now' The System said.

"So it means that it will take a lot of time for other magical creature to be born, right ?"

'No, a huge energy explosion is building up inside the planet and when it will emerge almost all being apart from the reincarnators will undergo an evolution'

"When will this explosion happen ?"

'Six years from now ' The System said in a cold voice.
