12 Duke returns

Simon was riding a horse as fast as he could but it was still a long way and the snow ❄ was making it more difficult .

" tch why it is so far away"

After almost 7 hours of continuous ride he finally reached the duchy he was exhausted but at the same time his worry was much greater than his exhaust body .

The door opened and he entered but without giving anyone a single look he straight away went for Rayna's room.

He came inside the room and saw everyone tensed and worried and Rayna was looking so pale that for one second he almost lost all his rationality but tried to control himself but the anger could not subside . he was angry and could not help but emit a dark aura which made everyone shudderand they turned to see the duke standing on the door and greeted him.

"I don't want your pathetic greeting i want to know why she is lying in the bed evven when i told you to take good care of her " .

"We have really comitted a great sin we deserve to die " everyone went onto their knees and said tremblingly.

"i asked you what happened to her" irritated by them.

"We don't know Duke we found her like this after she asked us to go out because she wanted to sleep so we didn't came to her room not to disturb her ".

"So what you are saying is you didn't check on her right ? "

everyone trembled

"y..yes duke"

"you are courting death i should just kill you all

he took his sword and was about to kill when he heard a faint noise coming from the bed

Rayna was crying "

"Why is she crying is she in pain? tell me"

he screamed at the doctor.

"DUKE Please calm down i think she is having a nightmare as her fever has gone down and she don't have any other problem to cause her pain"

He looked towards her with worried eyes and held her hand "i am here so please don't cry i will be nice to you from now on".

Everyone was shocked to see the duke on his knees saying touching words.

POV RAYNA

I finally saw a light coming and thought it was over but the next thing i saw shocked me .

Standing in front of me was Rayna she looked calm and emotionless but i could feel the contempt and anger coming from her.

I was shocked and didn't say anything when she finally started speaking.

"What you felt and saw right now happened to me and my execution happened at the hands of Simon but after he killed me i didn't die but returned to the day of my wedding but everything was same as before but i thought this time i will try to change and this time i will live differently.Did you know i had a very pathetic life my father used me like a puppet my mother died early and after i married simon i thought things would change and someone will love me but he was indifferent to me .

For once in my life i thought that i can change my future and will not be a puppet and will be loved but it was all useless how could this dumb little girl change anything everything went the same as previous but still i tried to talk to him but his eyes were still the same ". She said smiling at me but that smile could not reach her eyes and after a moment of silence she suddenly snapped..

HE STILL LOOKED AT ME THE SAME WAY WHYYYY I TRIED EVEN THOUGH I WAS SO AFRAID OF HIM BUT HE DIDN'T BAT A SINGLE EYE .

His indifference until the end didn't change So i thought i should just kill myself so that he would feel a bit regretful before she could arrive and not even let him remember my name, i thought he will feel a bit guilty for how he treated me but ha ha ha can you see i wasn't even able to accomplish that and that happened all because of you ..

She grabbed me by my neck

hukkk hukk i can't breathe i cried " s...stop i didn't mean for any of this to happen .."

"huh you didn't? then what is this why are you in my body"

she squeezed a bit harder

"Noooo Stop ! i don't know "

I screamed and finally my eyes opened to a familiar surrounding i was back i was really back and cried out

"i am sorry i am so sorry i didn't mean to do this"

"No why are you sorry" a masculine voice filled with worry came from beside me and hugged me and said

"everything is fine now so please don't cry."

This comfort and warmth made me again tear up because it made me again realize that i am back and not in that horrible place and the tears came running down like a waterfall.

"i was so scared"

"I am sorry "

he said while squeezing me under his arms

It made me relax and all the panic and thoughts were lost in that warmth .
