118 Real test

"See, wasn't that much faster?' Asked the mage, before continuing.

"Alright. When you take a stop for 2 weeks, there are many things that could happen…"

After listening to everything, Daron was shocked, stunned, and even scared. However, he quickly recovered and thanked the cockroach, which just crumbled into nothingness, and quickly left the room, to help out those kids.

To his surprise, by the time he was reaching the deck, he saw that everyone was returning with smiles on their faces. The knights in training, and especially Rudolf were tired, and the mage apprentices were depleted of their mana, however, they were still smiling.

'They killed it with only one attack from each mage apprentice?' Daron thought to himself.

Each of these beginner apprentices could only cast a single spell at most from their mana pools, since learning how to absorb mana was a step required to become an Intermediate apprentice. Daron was the only exception, since he needed to learn this method in order to reach beginner apprentice.

"What happened?" He asked, clearly confused, still prepared in case these guys were just satisfied that they were able to temporarily make the beast escape.

"Haha, We killed it! Your snowy is currently enjoying his meal!" Patrice claimed loudly with a confident expression. The shy Doug also nodded, and so did everyone else.

With a slightly shocked expression, Daron walked bast them, only to see the corpse of another large flying lizard. Clearly, the mage was only using one type of beast to attack them, every morning.

With rather mixed emotions, he nodded to everyone in the team that accomplished this feet without him being involved at all, and then proclaimed.

"Since you guys finished it off like this, I will be making everyone Lunch today."

Cheers sounded from all the children, but it quickly died down after Daron's next words.

"But you guys will be helping me, since I cannot possibly make all your food."

In reality, he could easily make them food, but why would he, when free labour was presenting itself to him?

Just like that, 2 months passed, and the group were nearing their destination. In the distance, all they could see was a dense fog surrounding a tall mountain, with its body being covered by fog, and the peak being covered by clouds.

However, no animals could be seen nearby. No bird chirped; no wolves howled. Only silence overcame the ship was they moved closer to their destination.

Daron, unfortunately could not explain to the rest of the people in his group in any way, shape or form about the upcoming dangers, since the mage of unknown rank who was following them strictly instructed him not to.

However, he could warn them about danger in general.

"Rudolf, take the knights in training, and stat guard at the windows and doors. Patricia take one of the beginner apprentices and head to the top deck with me. Doug, you take the other apprentice and head to the middle deck, and handle any situation that occurs behind below us."

Although they did not understand the problem now that they had arrived to their destination, everyone present had already seen the leadership of Daron and how not a single one of them had been killed thus far in the journey. Therefore, they all agreed to their tasks and moved accordingly.

Standing on the bow of the flying ship, Daron looked around and sighed.

'The real test begins now…'
