The Forgotten Memory

The dowager empress was mulling over about Concubine Xi's words while the physician at the apothecary was checking her pulse.

"This is strange" The physician made a concerning remark.

"What is it doctor?"

"You have such a strange pulse. Your pulse resembled of an old lady. Based on your pulse, you shouldn't be running around doing chores but resting on bed!" He exclaimed!

"Ahhh…. you are exaggerating things. I'm totally fine. Give me some headache medicine and I will be fine" The empress dowager pulled her hand away from the physician.

Seeing that she was only a mere maid and not important member of the inner palace, the physician decided not to drag their session anymore. He was writing down the list of medicine for the maid when throngs of senior physicians barged into the apothecary with loud commotion.

They were murmuring things between them that the empress dowager could not understand, hence, she bent down toward the physician who was writing her list of medicine on a piece of paper.

"what are they talking about? Why are the doctors be looking so gloomy?"

"You are the maid who worked under the emperor, how can you not know about what's going on around here?"

"Ahh…I think I got amnesia after I fainted this morning. Don't forget to jot down the medicine for my amnesia in the list. Ahh..anyway, I don't really know about what had occurred recently. Can you tell me what happen?" She urged the physician.

The physician let out a huge sigh. " The empress had a serius miscarriage yesterday. She lost a lot of blood and still in coma. The inner palace and and the royal apothecary was in total pandemonium since then"

"What?! I had a miscarriage?!"

Suddenly, she found herself being shot with disapprove scowls from everyone in the room. The physician immediately slapped her wrist and put his index finger in front of his lips.

"Be quite! You are too loud" He hissed right at the empress dowager. She covered her mouth with her two palms.

How can she not remember that she used to go through a devastating miscarriage many-many years ago. To be frank the empress dowager had already forgotten about her pregnancy and the miscarriage. Well, this is not something that she can control. Her brain probably decided to block any unhappy moment that she faced her entire life so that she can focused on pretending that she was happy in front of her people.

'So, this is the timeline that the oracle chose for me. It was the time during I was in coma for a few days after the shock of loosing my child? Is this the reason why my soul was transferred to other people's body instead? But who is this maid? Why can't I remember her?'

So many questions had been lingering on her mind, the empress dowager did not realized that the physician was handing her the list for her medicine.

"Take this" He instructed. "Go retrieve your medicine at the apothecary"

Following the instruction closely, the empress dowager was sent back to the emperor chamber with stacks of medicines tucked securely in her dress pocket.

Once she have finished with her business at the apothecary, the empress dowager was dumbfounded on her next action.

She scratched her scalp thinking of her next action. Should she go take some rest at the servant dormitory now that she was time travelled into a servant's body?

No! She had a very limited time on this time line. She would not waste any minute dilly dallying around the palace!

After she recollects all her thoughts and composure, the empress dowager decided to visit her old royal chambers. Truthfully, she remembered very little about her darkest period in her life. Her miscarriage came like a foreign news to her. She could barely remember about the pregnancy, what more about her being in coma state for a few days!

However, she could vividly remember her disappointment when the emperor put a stop to his seldom night visits to her chamber. Just like any proud first wife in this kingdom, the empress dowager put on a nonchalant facade during the days and cry to her sleep in the middle of the night.

That was the only option that she had to ensure that her dignity as the mother of the nation remained intact.

But this empress dowager is different! She would seduced the emperor till he surrender all his affection to her . Only then she would trampled over his heart. Ahahhha! Pay back bitch!

Realizing that she had laughing out loud. The empress dowager shyly covered her mouth with her sleeve. Ahhh….it is such a waste that she time travelled into a maid's body. It would be difficult for her to execute her plan! What a shame!
