Huh? What is this?

The sounds of people bickering woke the empress dowager from he slumber sleep. But this time, it felt a little bit different than normal. Usually, it took her several minutes to slowly open her wrinkle eyes. Not to mention she could not even move much due to her ailing body. The strong smell of medicine also usually filled the room's atmosphere.

However, she did not smell anything remotely medicinal in this place! She could also move her body back and forth without using much of her energy. That's it!

Suddenly, a splash of water were threw right at the empress dowager's face!

She automatically opened her eyes. Once she took a peak at her new surrounding, she saw throngs of maid were looking at her with worries displayed on their faces. The one who was holding a pail was -however- looking as if she was mad at the empress dowager.

All of the maids were wearing the servants' old uniform. She was right! The empress dowager had travelled back to her younger days! What year is it? 50 years ago? Or sixty years ago?

"Who dared to threw the water at the empress dow- Err.. no! At the empress?!" she shouted at the unruly bunch of maid. The empress dowager had enough of being kind and polite empress. This time she would not let anyone trampled on her head again!

Her wrath however were received with loud gasps from the maids!

"Xiao Yan! How dare you speaks like that!" The maid who was holding the pail immediately threw the pail at her. "Who do you think you are Xiao Yan?! Don't be so arrogant just because you are the Majesty's maid!"

'what the hell is she talking about?!' The empress dowager was furious. She didn't remember that the maids could be so vicious toward the empress!

" What is your name? How dare you throw the pail at the empress!" The dowager empress raised her voice so loud she could hear the echo of her voice. Ahhh!! Being able to shout at rude people feels so refreshing! No wonder Concubine Xi loved to shout at the other imperial concubines!

Suddenly, another young maid came running toward her. She pulled the empress dowager's sleeve and said "Xiao Yan! Do not fight with our senior again. You are going to be punish severely"

The empress dowager ogled the young maid from head to toe. "who are you? Who is Xiao Yan? Why are you casually holding into me like this?"

"Xiao Yan? Are you crazy?!" The young maid's face turned red. "Did you lost your mind?"

"Who are you? Why are holding onto my royal rob-" The empress dowager's eyes widened when she saw her plain sleeve.

White sleeve? Why was she wearing white sleeve that resemble the maids' uniform! The empress should at least wear white embroidered robe! She then began to touch every inch of her body!

This fabric feels cheap! She then lowered her eye sight and saw the dress that she was wearing was the exact copy of the maids�� who were standing in front of her? Why did the empress is dressing in servants' uniform?!

"Xiao yan? You are going too far this time by claiming you are the empress! You should be punished!" The angry maid (who she assume the supervisor) raised her hand to slap the empress dowager.

"The emperor has arrived!"

The announcement made everyone in the place prostrated on the ground. The empress dowager refused to do so but the young maid hurriedly pulled her body down.

"What was the ruckus is all about? The emperor cannot even take a morning stroll at the garden in peace!" The chief eunuch scolded every single of them.

The empress dowager however stole a glance at the young late emperor that sauntered calmly toward them.

Her husband was impeccable during his prime time. His good look is famously known among the women in the capital. His intelligence was recognized in the region. His swordsmanship was admired by his soldiers and his comprehension in arts of war was feared by the enemies.His authoritarian ruling kept the royal court in calm.

But…why did the emperor appeared to be quite haggard in front of them? He had always took care of his appearance. And his face….that was the face he had always shown whenever he was in deep trouble usually concerning the politic shenanigans. Does the ministers had been acting up in the royal court?

Nevertheless, he still looked good and she should have been the luckiest woman alive! Unfortunately, she didn't used her time with him to ever fight for his affection as she feared it would bring calamities for her family and the kingdom. But now, everything had changed. She no longer had nothing to loose! She was going to seduce her husband till he came begging for her affection!

"This servant apologize to His majesty, the emperor. But Xiao Yan fainted just now" The supervisor began to adres the issue.

"Xiao Yan?" The chief eunuch was looking at her with a surprise face. " I wonder why you are missing from your usual job today. You are loitering at the garden?" The chief eunuch scolded the empress dowager.

The empress dowager rolling her eyes when she was blatantly accused by the Chief eunuch for loitering around in the garden. Didn't he heard the supervisor saying that she fainted just now. But wait? She is a maid?

"What happen Xiao Yan?" The emperor suddenly broke his silence. "Everyone in the garden kept their mouth shut.

"I…er…this servant did not know what happen to me" Still in the prostrating on the ground, the empress dowager decided to play along with the confusing situation shoved at her face.

"This servant…this servant woke up in this garden without any ideas how I ended up here Your Majesty" The empress dowager had to efficiently making up lies through her teeth, her survival mode was activated in split second!

"So, you did not attend to your usual routine because you fainted in the garden. Someone, take Xiao Yan to visit the physician! Dismiss now!" the emperor turned away after giving the order.

Everyone stayed quite and rooted at their places even after the emperor was no longer within their sight. An eunuch ushered the empress dowager to the apothecary.

This is so confusing! She should have been travelling back to the past in which she already did! But why did she ended up trapped within the body of a maid that she could not even recognized.

How can she seduce the emperor in the body of a maid?! how to trampled over his heart when she is nothing but a mere maid. The empress dowager let out a loud sigh. She went from a powerless empress to completely useless maid!
