She immersed herself in the elaborate dances, enchanting melodies, and captivating conversations, all the while keeping her secret closely guarded.

One evening, as the court buzzed with chatter and the air filled with the aroma of exotic spices, Mumtaz found herself in the midst of a conversation with Rukaiya, her confidante and closest ally in this new world.

"Mumtaz, I cannot help but notice the way Prince Khurram gazes at you," Rukaiya remarked, a mischievous glimmer in her eyes.

Mumtaz feigned innocence, her heart racing with anticipation. "Oh, Rukaiya, you have an overactive imagination. The Prince is merely intrigued by my presence."

Rukaiya chuckled knowingly. "Intrigued, you say? I have seen the curiosity in his eyes, the way he seeks to know more about you. There is a connection between the two of you, Mumtaz, one that cannot be easily dismissed."
