Eren Yeager

With a weary expression etched upon her face, Ymir trudged through the door, her clothes disheveled and caked in layers of dirt, resembling a battle-weary warrior returning from the frontlines. His voice tinged with genuine concern, Eren broke the silence that hung in the air, inquiring about the state of affairs beyond and outside the walls, "How is the situation out there?" However, Historia sprang into action, her worry evident as she rushed to Ymir's side, fearing that the weight of exhaustion might cause her to stumble and collapse unceremoniously onto the unforgiving ground.

With a glimmer of appreciation shining in her eyes, Ymir bestowed upon Historia a gaze filled with gratitude, a silent acknowledgment of the immense kindness extended to her. In response, Historia gently guided Ymir's arm, ever so delicately, to rest upon her own shoulder, providing the support that Ymir needed to navigate towards the nearest couch. As they finally settled down, their bodies sinking into the plush cushions, Ymir released a weary sigh that seemed to carry the weight of a thousand tumultuous days. Every inch of her being ached as if she had traversed endless landscapes, running tirelessly for an eternity without a moment's respite.

As Mikasa approached, gracefully carrying a crystal-clear glass of water, she extended it towards Ymir. The corners of Ymir's lips curled upwards, forming a genuine smile of gratitude as she gratefully accepted the refreshing offering. The cool liquid cascaded down her parched throat, infusing her body with a subtle revitalization. However, despite the soothing sensation, Ymir's heavy eyelids began to droop, tempting her into the embrace of sleep. Yet, she resisted the urge, acutely aware of the pressing circumstances that demanded her wakefulness. With a decisive resolve, she resolved to remain alert and vigilant. Casting a quick glance towards Eren, she turned her head to face him.

As Ymir's words flowed gently, she sought to reassure her listener, her voice carrying a sense of conviction that belied the gravity of the situation. With a confident air, she expressed her perspective. "I think," she began, her tone steady yet tinged with a hint of defiance, "that the situation may not be as dire as it appears at first glance, from what I saw and heard myself, the Cadets, The Garrison, and The Survey Corps are in our side," As she uttered these words, her breaths escaped in short bursts, betraying her underlying excitement. Meanwhile, Eren stood silently, his eyes fixed upon Ymir, his expression a mosaic of contemplation and agreement, silently acknowledging the veracity of her words.

It had been three days since their reveal; Eren had listened to Captain Levi's orders and had stayed in his room, which was in the headquarters of the Survey Corps. Their orders were to stay inside and wait for new orders, but Eren didn't feel like waiting any longer until someone told him what to do next; what they needed to do was clear and simple.

They needed to take over the island and kick down the current King, but Eren wasn't foolish enough to think he could just do that out of the blue; he needed to make sure he had the support of quite a few parties before thinking of going against the Royal Family.

Eren knew his deeds must have earned him a reputation amongst the common people; whether it was good or bad, Eren wasn't sure, but from Ymir's words, it sounded like the people were willing to listen to him and listen to his words about the danger of the outside World.

"How are our friends?" Eren inquired with genuine concern, his eyes scanning the room as Mikasa settled herself gracefully beside him on the plush couch, her slender fingers effortlessly intertwining with his own. Meanwhile, Armin was engrossed in his thoughts, pen gliding across the crisp pages of his trusty notebook.

With a somber expression etched upon her face, Ymir responded to Eren's query, her voice carrying a weight of sorrow and resilience, "We have lost cadets, Eren, but trust me is much better than it could have been."

Leaning back, she allowed her back to mold into the comforting contours of the couch, seeking solace in its embrace. Yet, deep within her, a haunting image of a burning pyre, a grim reminder of the fallen cadets, threatened to invade her thoughts, a relentless reminder of the harsh realities they faced.

In a display of unwavering solidarity, Mikasa's fingers tightened their grip around Eren's hand, feeling the weight of his burden and the depths of his reliance on her unwavering support. Their eyes met an unspoken language flowing between them, conveying volumes of emotions and unbreakable bonds. It was a look that spoke of shared experiences, indescribable in mere words but understood in the depths of their souls.

However, the ephemeral connection was abruptly severed as Eren's gaze darted away, fixating on Ymir. Breaking the silence that hung in the air, Eren's voice resonated with a mix of determination and concern, "I'm sure they have a lot of questions," he pondered aloud, his thoughts veering towards Jean and perhaps even Marco.

"They all did, it took us hours to check the city, to gather the remains of the people who died, burn their remains, during that time, they asked me questions all the time, but Floch was the one that asked the most," Ymir explained, her body yearned for solace. She struggled to reach the aching spot on her back, longing for relief, but her efforts fell short. It was then that Historia, her presence a soothing balm, approached with gentle hands.

As Historia's fingers began to knead away the tension, Ymir felt the icy grip of stress slowly dissipate, replaced by a comforting warmth that washed over her weary soul. Yet, amidst this newfound tranquility, drowsiness crept into Ymir's consciousness, threatening to pull her into a deep slumber. She fought against the encroaching fatigue with an iron will, refusing to succumb to sleep's seductive embrace.

"Floch?" Eren repeated the name with a perplexed expression, his brows furrowing as he wracked his memory. Despite being acquainted with Floch, their interactions during their three-year training as cadets had been scarce, limited to merely a handful of conversations. Thus, Eren found himself utterly bewildered as to why Floch, out of all people, had taken such a keen interest in his whereabouts, prompting a wave of questions to flood his mind.

"Apparently, the surviving Cadets, well, many of them, and including Garrison soldiers are holding you in very high regard, Eren. They're spreading words of your deeds, saying how you saved many of them, how you defeated the Colossal and The Armoured Titan," As Ymir spoke, her voice laced with a hint of annoyance. Ymir couldn't help but feel a twinge of frustration as the tales circulating seemed to focus solely on Eren's accomplishments, neglecting to mention the significant role she herself had played in those very same battles.

"I wasn't alone, you and Annie helped," Eren hastily interjected, ensuring Ymir didn't feel excluded. However, as soon as the name 'Annie' escaped his lips, a palpable shift in the atmosphere occurred, casting a slight shadow over the previously animated room. The weight of silence gradually descended upon the space, enveloping it like a frosty quilt, while Eren's grip on Mikasa's hand subtly intensified, mirroring the unspoken solidarity between them as their fingers intimately intertwined.

Mikasa wasn't sure yet how to feel about Annie; they were never friends. Mikasa had always deemed Annie tolerable, merely a presence that posed no threat to Eren's well-being. However, even with the undeniable knowledge that Annie was the Female Titan, Mikasa's mind was consumed with a singular perplexing inquiry: What could have prompted Annie to forsake her own people and align herself with Eren?

"Why did she side with us?"

As if sensing the weight of Mikasa's unspoken thoughts, the room was shattered by the sudden intrusion of Armin's voice, cutting through the silence like a knife. All eyes turned towards him, gazes drawn to the young cadet sitting amongst them, his lap cradling an open book. With an air of curiosity and a flicker of intrigue in his piercing blue eyes, Armin delicately traced his finger over the words on the page.

"Doctor Grisha was the only one who came to the Walls with a Titan power, and gave it to Eren. Annie has the female Titan, so she's definitely with those that entered the Walls five years ago, when The Colossal Titan destroyed the gate, she's been inside the Walls for five years, and has known all of us for the last three years," Armin continued, stopping for a moment, letting the information sink in, the other simply waited for him to continue.

"Why show herself now? Is safe to assume that she knew what would happen in Trost, and never said anything, she didn't warn us. If she had done so, many cadets would still be alive," Armin finished, looking at the others, wanting to know their thoughts.

"Marco," Ymir suddenly stepped into the conversation, making Armin turn his head to look at her in slight confusion. "Marco told me what happened, he heard Reiner and Bertholdt talking about their plan, they were going to feed him to a Titan, to keep his mouth shut, but Annie changed her mind and attacked Reiner instead, and we all know the rest." Ymir explained. As Ymir's words reached Eren's ears, a glimmer of solace danced across his troubled expression, the weight of their shared ordeal momentarily lightening. Yet, amidst the newfound respite, Armin's inquisitive mind remained unsettled, a lingering question begging to be answered.

"Do you think," Armin pondered aloud, his voice laced with curiosity and intrigue, "she had anything to do with the fall of Shiganshina?" As the words danced delicately from his lips, hanging in the air like a suspended breath, Eren's response thundered forth, crashing against the room's walls with an unwavering conviction, "No!" The resounding echo reverberated through the chamber.

"You were there that day, Armin, Bertholdt and Reiner were the one responsible, not her," Eren quickly defended Annie, looking at his friend with anger. In the depths of his heart, Eren refused to entertain even the faintest whisper of doubt, for he had built a bond with Annie. Annie had been in a relationship with him for over a year now; Eren had told her what had happened to his mother. With every fiber of his being, Eren knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Annie stood innocent and blameless...

As Armin tentatively parted his lips, preparing to delve into a comprehensive explanation to justify his standpoint, the sudden emergence of Mikasa from her seated position brought his words to an abrupt halt. With a tone of resolute conviction, Mikasa interjected, her voice carrying an air of unwavering support for Eren's perspective: "I agree with Eren, Armin. We all were there that day, and I don't remember seeing a Female Titan," Her logical reasoning, intertwined with her allegiance to Eren's stance, magnified the weight of her words.

Armin's gaze oscillated between Mikasa and Eren, his eyes betraying an unspoken desire to convey additional thoughts. Yet, he opted to seal his lips, a gesture of silent resignation. In that profound silence, Eren's astute perception discerned that Armin's wavering conviction still lingered.

"What about the Military Police? How will we deal with them, when my father came to my home, he was with many other people that looked like from the Military Police," pondered Historia, her voice tinged with apprehension as she gazed into the distance. Her mind swirled with a whirlwind of unsettling memories, each one a brushstroke on the canvas of her consciousness. Her father's unexpected visit still haunted her, the sight of him accompanied by a throng of stern-faced individuals, their uniforms unmistakably belonging to the Military Police. The mere recollection sent a shiver down her spine, a tremor that seemed to reverberate through the very core of her being. She could still vividly recall one soldier in particular, his name eluding her grasp like a fleeting dream. It was his eyes that etched an indelible impression upon her soul, an intense gaze that held an unsettling mixture of authority and menace.

"The Military Police is our biggest obstacle, but we might be able to convince some of them to join our side, after all if they all know that the King wants for everyone inside the Walls to die, I'm sure their desire to live will quickly overcome whatever loyalty they have towards him," As Eren voiced his thoughts, his brows furrowed with determination, Armin stood beside him, his eyes gleaming with unwavering agreement. Just as Armin prepared to interject his own insights, the room suddenly filled with a gust of anticipation as the door swung open, shattering the silence without a warning knock.

The unexpected entrance revealed the dynamic duo of Hange and Captain Levi, their presence commanding attention. Eren's keen senses caught sight of Squad Levi, standing in a formidable formation just beyond the threshold. With a measured stride, Hange and Levi strode into the room, their presence magnetizing every gaze in the vicinity; Captain Levi gracefully shut the door, sealing the space with an air of intrigue and secrecy.

As "Captain Levi!" echoed through the air, Eren swiftly snapped to attention, his hand instinctively shooting up in a crisp salute. Not to be outdone, everyone else in the vicinity followed suit, paying homage to their esteemed leader. Despite her weariness weighing heavily upon her, even Ymir summoned the last remnants of her energy to rise from her fatigued state and join in the collective act of respect, her arm shooting up in an honorable salute toward the commanding figures before her.

"No need for that," Hange began, her voice carrying a hint of amusement as she observed the group in front of her. She gestured for everyone to halt their salutes, a small smile playing on her lips. "It's good to see that all of you are well rested," she added, her eyes twinkling with genuine warmth.

Ymir couldn't help but interject with a mischievous grin. "Speak for yourself," she scoffed, her words dripping with playful sarcasm. "My body feels like I just got fucked in the Ass," Historia shot her a scolding glare, but Hange couldn't contain her laughter, the sound echoing through the room.

Meanwhile, Levi muttered under his breath, "Teenagers," his voice laced with a hint of annoyance as if he had seen it all before.

"Any news from Commander Erwin?" With an air of curiosity, Eren's voice carried a newfound authority. The subtle change in his tone did not go unnoticed, captivating the attention of those present. Sensing the shift in the atmosphere, Hange swiftly intervened, clearing her throat while deftly flipping through a flurry of pages.

"As we assumed the situation is dire, they are many people out there who says you're a gift from the gods, those lunatics of the Walls are saying you need to be punished, all that bullshit, as for the Military Police. Well, Commander Erwin will go to the Military Meeting tomorrow, he has postponed the meeting with the excuse that the captured Armoured Titan and The Colossal Titan are difficult to manage, but tomorrow Erwin will have the military meeting with the highest people of the military, including Commander in Chief Zackly," Hange reported, hearing those words, Eren sighed in relief, knowing they had one more day to plan, and there are a few things that he could try to push the public perception even more towards himself and his friends.

Eren's voice pierced the air as he leaned forward in anticipation, his brows furrowing with intrigue as he posed the question, "What's Zackly like?"

The room fell into a momentary hush, the silence broken only by the soft hum of Levi's sigh. With a knowing smirk curling at the corner of his lips, Levi took his time to respond; his back pressed firmly against the closed door. As the weight of his words hung in the air, his piercing eyes locked onto Eren's emerald gaze. "Zackly," he finally spoke, his voice dripping with enigmatic allure, "He's a tricky man,"

"Zackly is smart, and doesn't try to take sides, but I believe he would be willing to listen to Erwin, but to do so we must have a very good defense, he can't just side with Erwin out of the goodness of his heart," Levi explained, his words caused Historia to take a step forward.

"A defense for what?"

"For us and for himself," Armin answered. "Right now it has been almost a year since we told the truth about the outside world, and our abilities as Titan Shifters, the only people Commander Erwin has told are members of the military branch he commands, Commander Pyxis and Ian knows the truth, but Commander Erwin is still the one that is in command. He kept his mouth shut and instead of telling the truth to Zackley or the Commander of the Military Police, instead two of his most powerful soldiers have the ability to turn into Titans. There are many people who will see what Commander Erwin did as Treason. They might want to execute him for withholding such important information." Armin explained, with both Hange and Levi nodding along in agreement with what Armin was saying.

Ymir groaned, knowing things could get very complicated, and not to mention Reiner and Bertholdt were still alive, something that Ymir thought was perhaps the biggest problem right now.

"Cadet Armin is right. We need to be ready to defend Erwin. He told us that he's thinking of a plan, but time is running out. And most importantly, we need the support of the people, while most of those inside Wall Rose are willing to side with us, those from Wall Sina are publicly against Eren and his powers." Hange explained, already wondering what kind of trick the King had pulled to ensure that those from Wall Sina were against Eren.

With a mix of curiosity and a hint of skepticism, he casually inquired, "Hange I heard that a group made of Cadets and Garrison soldiers are supporting me publicly," Although his tone seemed more like a statement of the obvious, his words instantly sparked a wave of intrigue among those present, capturing the undivided attention of everyone in the room, especially that of Levi.

"Yes, congratulations brat. Now you have your own group of followers, all of them ready to polish your boots, and kiss the ground you walk on. Should we call you 'Lord Eren' from now on," Levi's voice dripped with sarcasm as he extended his heartfelt congratulations to the brat. Hange couldn't help but giggle at Levi's choice of words while Mikasa's intense glare bore into Levi, silently conveying her disapproval.

Eren's lips curled up in a subtle smile as he savored the humor embedded within the joke. However, as the laughter dissolved into the air, his countenance shifted, his expression growing solemn and his voice assuming a weighty tone once more. "I would like to talk with them," which caught several individuals off guard, especially Hange, whose raised eyebrow reflected their perplexity.

"Why," Hange inquired, her curiosity piqued by Eren's unexpected desire.

"As you said, Zackly needs to be convinced that supporting us is the best thing to do, I think a few members should be brought in during the trial, their words will be heard, not because they are soldiers, but because they're survivors of Trost, as for the rest of the group. It would be good for them to be outside of the building, demanding for our Freedom," Eren explained his daring idea, his words hanging in the air as Armin stared at him, his eyes widening in surprise.

Meanwhile, Levi leaned forward from the door, his gaze fixed on Eren. With measured steps, he walked forward, his presence commanding as he closed the distance until he stood beside Hange. Levi's voice cut through the tension, his tone laced with genuine intrigue as he voiced his concerns, "What if they get out of control? The last thing we need is a peaceful protest to turn into a violent one." His eyes locked onto Eren, searching for answers, as the room fell into a silence, pregnant.

"This is why I need to talk with them, and mostly in private with whoever is seen as the leader," With unwavering resolve, Eren swiftly responded, his voice laced with an unyielding determination.

"And you think you can control over a hundred soldiers to follow your orders?" Levi challenged Eren's audacious claim, causing Ymir's brows to shoot up in genuine astonishment. Even Mikasa and Armin found themselves taken aback. Their expectations had been modest, envisioning a modest contingent of twenty or, at most, fifty soldiers who would heed Eren's command. Yet, the revelation of a hundred soldiers poised to march under Eren's leadership left them utterly astounded.

With a resolute gaze fixed upon Levi's piercing eyes, Eren responded with a single word, "Yes." The intensity of the moment hung thick in the air. Trepidation filled the hearts of everyone present, their eyes darting back and forth in anticipation. However, Levi's features softened ever so slightly, defying all expectations, his narrowed eyes widening imperceptibly. A collective sigh of relief swept through the room, mingled with a sense of awe and disbelief, as Levi nodded in agreement.

Levi's voice resonated with unwavering authority as he uttered the words, "Very well, meet me at the gate within three hours." His voice carried a weight of consequence, a stern warning that the repercussions of failing to appear would be severe. The gravity of the situation was evident in the resolute tone of his speech, leaving no room for doubt or levity. With a firmness that brooked no argument, he declared, "If you don't show up, your idea will be dropped, and you will clean the entire building by yourself." The coldness in his voice betrayed no hint of jest, leaving no doubt that this was not a mere jest or idle threat.

"I will come to," Mikasa quickly added as she stepped forward, her voice sounding concerned. Levi quickly glared at her for speaking out of turn, but Mikasa didn't budge; she glared back at him.

As Armin anxiously anticipated Captain Levi's instructions for Mikasa, he imagined the stern commander ordering her to remain stationary, forbidding her from accompanying them. However, Captain Levi's response took an unexpected turn, to Armin's surprise. While he acknowledged Mikasa's desire to join them, his nod was accompanied by an intense, piercing glare that seemed to convey many unspoken messages. "Your sole responsibility," Levi's voice sliced through the tension, sharp as a blade, "Your only job is to protect Eren in case things go south, but you do as I say; you follow my orders," Mikasa nodded in agreement, her eyes meeting Eren's for a fleeting moment, a silent exchange of gratitude passing between them.

"One more thing, what about Annie, Bertholdt and Reiner? What will happen to them? I think we are making a mistake by allowing Bertholdt to keep sucking air," Ymir questioned with a loud groan, her voice breaking the tense atmosphere.

"Annie Leonhart has agreed to work with the Survey Corps, and give us any information she has, in exchange, she won't be executed for not telling anyone about the attack in Trost," Hange informed them. Eren felt an indescribable wave of relief wash over him, causing his tense shoulders to gradually slump down in a release of pent-up tension. A small, genuine smile tugged at the corners of his lips, an expression of heartfelt joy and gratitude.

Hange was happy to see Eren with a smile, but a part of her hated that she wasn't being completely sincere towards Eren about Annie's involvement in the Fall of Wall Maria, but Erwin had ordered her and Levi to keep quiet, and she would do so without question.

"What about Reiner and Bertholdt?" Eren's voice sliced through the air like a bitter wind, his words heavy with a chilling intensity that seemed to freeze the very atmosphere around him. His emerald eyes, usually vibrant with determination, now glimmered with an icy wrath that threatened to consume everything in its path. With each word that left his lips, his anger seemed to solidify, taking on a tangible form that could be felt by all who stood before him.

"They woke up tomorrow, they have mostly kept their mouths shut, Bertholdt is kept in the Crystal Cave, it's seventy meters below the ground, the walls and everything is made out of Titan hardening so we doubt that even someone like Bertholdt would be able to escape that easily." Hange answered, trying to ease the tension that she knew everyone felt about him still being alive.

"That is to be expected, but I doubt they would be able to tell us anything valuable that Annie doesn't know since she had been trained along side them," Armin reasoned, earning a nod of agreement from Hange.

"Erwin is planning to feed Bertholdt first, saying his power is something we can use," Levi added, earning a look of conflict from Historia.

"To whom?"

"We are not sure yet, a few potential candidates are in his mind, but right now, nothing is certain," Hange answered. Her answer didn't seem to make the others happy, but they were willing to wait.

"I want to talk with them," Eren suddenly requested.

"Eren, I have nothing against meeting Annie, she will be freed tomorrow, but Reiner, and Bertho-" "I want to hear it from them," However, before Hange could continue, Eren interjected with an unwavering determination, his interruption effectively silencing her. The look he gave Hange conveyed an unyielding resolve. His captivating emerald eyes seemed to almost sparkle.

"I want to know what they were thinking," Eren added with a hint of fury in his voice, Levi looked at Eren before stepping forward.

"Very well,"

Eren and his friends walked further downstairs; with each step, they took, the flickering illumination from the torches affixed to the towering Walls cast eerie shadows. As they ventured deeper, the echoing sound of their footsteps reverberated through the labyrinthine corridors, heightening their anticipation. Finally, they arrived at a door, its imposing presence guarded by two stalwart sentinels.

Upon catching sight of Captain Levi leading the charge, the guards instinctively recognized his authority and swiftly parted ways, granting him and his comrades passage.

As Eren and Mikasa stepped into the room, their hands intertwined, a surge of anticipation coursed through Eren's veins. The space they entered was vast, a sprawling square room that seemed to stretch into infinity, its boundaries blurred by shadows dancing on the walls. Yet, amidst this expanse, Eren's gaze was instantly drawn to the center, where a colossal cage loomed, its bars reaching toward the heavens. Within that confining enclosure, Squad Mike stood stoically.

Eren, his heart swelling with gratitude for Mikasa's unwavering support, appreciated her touch's solace in this moment of uncertainty. However, his attention quickly veered toward the figure confined within the cage.

His legs had been unceremoniously severed, rendering them mere fragments of their former selves. Similarly, his right arm had met a similar fate, severed from their body, leaving only a lone left arm that stubbornly clung to existence. Even this remaining limb was shackled by chains, forever bound to the cold wall; metal plates covered his severed limbs to make sure Reiner couldn't regrow his limbs.

As Eren stood in the room, his ears strained to catch the elusive words that escaped Levi's lips, his curiosity piqued by the hushed conversation. Although the exact contents remained a mystery, the departure of the Mike Squad resonated through the air, their footsteps echoing with purpose.

The resounding clang of the iron door shutting jolted Eren's senses, the metallic reverberations slicing through the silence like a thunderclap. At that moment, Eren's gaze shifted towards Reiner, his head gradually rising like a slumbering titan awakening from its dormant state.

Puzzlement etched across his face, Reiner's eyes met Eren's, mirroring the enigma that swirled within his mind. Reiner's inquiry pierced the air with a voice that trembled with weariness and fatigue, "W-who's there?" His once robust voice now carried a raspy undertone, a testament to the toll that recent events had taken on him. The gauntness of his features hinted at a weight that had been shed, leaving behind the remnants of a shattered resolve.

With a determined stride, Eren stepped forward, his hand tightly clutching the cold, iron door of the dimly lit cell. As his piercing emerald eyes glimmered like shards of ice in the oppressive darkness, a palpable sense of anger and resolve emanated from him, casting an eerie aura around his figure. His cold and furious gaze locked onto Reiner, whose eyes gradually widened, betraying a mixture of fear and comprehension that flooded his being. The weight of the impending confrontation hung heavy in the air as Eren's voice, laced with a potent combination of intensity and rage, pierced the silence, uttering a single word that reverberated through the room.

"Reiner..."
