42 Chapter 42 The crazy pope.. (pt1)

'I feel the refreshing wind blowing against my skin, so that means we are still flying, well time to wake up, but for some reason there's so much space' Thought Melty.

Melty slowly opened her eyes as she was laying on her back.

She looked to her sides and noticed that she was not on Issei.

"Where am I!?" Screamed Melty as she got on all fours and realized that she was on a big western white dragon.

"Wh-wh-whats happening where's Issei!?" Screamed Melty but suddenly someone hugged her from behind.

"Don't worry, we are safe and issei is right above us" Said Raphtalia as she calmed down Melty.

Melty looked up and saw Issei in his balance breaker flying.

She let out a sigh of relief and calmed down.

"But what is happening here?" Asked Melty.

"While we were sleeping someone attacked us so Issei went to investigate while leaving us in a protective barrier, he found out that it was this beautiful dragon and one thing led to another and she became his mate and now we are flying on her back" Explained Raphtalia.

Melty was so shocked that she barely was able to process the information.

Suddenly a powerful yet feminine voice boomed through the skies.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Kiyomi" Introduced herself while flying.

"Same here, my name is Melty" Introduced herself the princess.

Suddenly Issei landed on Kiyomi's back too.

"I'll borrow this spot for a bit" Said Issei as he sat on her head between the two horns.

"Anything for you dear" Said Kiyomi.

Issei deactivated his balance breaker and sat down.

He equipped his Dragon's will shield and opened his pocket dimension and took out the last phenex tears vial.

"What are you gonna do with that?" Asked Kiyomi.

"Well, I thought that if I let my shield absorb this last healing potion, it could give me some kind of new shield or skill specifically for healing" Said Issei.

"Now, let's test it out and hopefully it won't go to waste" Said issei as he opened the vial and poured the red liquid into the shields gem.

The gem glowed and absorbed the potion.

Seconds later a screen popped up for Issei.

*New shield unlocked, new skill unlocked.

Dragon's essence shield and new skill called Dragon's healing essence crafting.

"Hell yeah! it worked! now I will be able to make powerful healing potions stronger than phenex tears! but the ingredients are dragon's blood and it has to be two different dragons that are above level fifty and some kind of draconic plant" Said Issei.

"Well, the blood is no problem, but the draconic plants is a different story" Said Issei.

"Don't worry I have a lot of draconic plants but they are the last ones of their kind so we can reproduce them and make the healing potions" Said Kiyomi.

"That's great! thank you Kiyomi" Said issei as he lowered his head and kissed her forehead between her eyes.

She blushed because she didn't expect that to happen nor did she experienced of someone actually loving her.

"I-its no problem" Replied Kiyomi with a blush.

Out of nowhere a powerful lightning looking spear hit Kiyomi's wing.

She roared out of slight pain but mostly confusion and anger and started to land.

"What the hell!" Shouted Issei out of confusion and anger as he looked down and saw that they were near the border wall and a bunch of knights lined up and Motoyasu with his party behind him pointing his spear right at Kiyomi.

"Kiyomi, land gently and don't do anything unless I say so" Said Issei.

Kiyomi landed fifteen meters away from Motoyasu.

Issei, Raphtalia and Melty got off of her.

While Melty was tending to her wound Issei and Raphtalia glared at Motoyasu out of pure of rage.

"So demonic dragon of evil is finally here hm?" Said Motoyasu as he looked at Issei.

"You know, if you let us go we won't have to fight" Said Issei as held his rage.

"Hoh let you go hmm? anything else traitor!" Shouted Motoyasu as he attacked with his spear but Issei blocked it off easily.

"Would ya listen to me for once?" Asked Issei.

Motoyasu backed off.

"Listen to you who uses a brainwashing shield? who enslaved Raphtalia?" Asked Motoyasu.

Kiyomi got confused as she heard what Motoyasu said.

"He uses a brainwashing shield?" Asked Kiyomi.

"No, that's a lie, my sister created this nonsense and everyone believes her, don't worry he isn't evil or anything" Said Melty as she was still using her water magic to heal Kiyomi but due to Kiyomi being way bigger level than Melty, it was too hard for her to heal the wound even tho it wasn't anything serious, it just stung her a bit.

At least she could hold off the slight bleeding.

"You moron! they aren't brainwashed!" Said Issei but Motoyasu just attacked him as he didn't listen to him.

Issei blocked the attack once again.

"I think I know the reason why I was summoned here, I was sent here specifically to stop you!" Shouted Motoyasu as he charged another attack.

"What nonsense are you talking about! I wouldn't have been summoned here if they needed to stop me!" Roared Issei.

"Meteor thrust!" Shouted Motoyasu and a large lightning beam shot straight at Issei.

It was big enough to hit Issei and the girls behind him.

"Airstrike shield!" Roared Issei and a green shield appeared in front of him blocking off the attack but it shattered after a few seconds.

The beam reached Issei but he didn't let the attack reach the girls.

Once the smoke died down everyone saw Issei standing without a scratch.

"Still not down? you sure are stubborn I'll give you that" Said Motoyasu.

"Why are ya angry at me like that anyways? is it because I ran away from our last fight?" Asked Issei.

"Are you that heartless? were Itsuki and Ren nothing to you!? now I understand why people are calling you demonic dragon of evil" Said Motoyasu.

Issei was confused as he didn't understand why he brought up Itsuki and Ren?

"You said that we have to fight like a team but you tricked us! You bastard! I'm gonna make you pay!" Shouted Motoyasu and attacked Issei with his spear from above, issei of course blocked the attack as he held his shield above his head.

"Wait up! I don't understand what you are saying!" Shouted Issei.

"Well you should think about it!" Shouted Motoyasu as he nearly stabbed issei straight in the face.

"You're gonna pay! you're gonna pay for what you did to them! murderer!" Shouted Motoyasu.

"What do you mean murder?! I didn't kill anyone!" Shouted Issei.

"Don't play dumb! you know what you did! you killed them and yet you pretend as you don't know anything!" Shouted Motoyasu.

"I didn't kill anyone!" Roared Issei.

Now Issei was really getting pissed off.

"Listed here you punk! I didn't kill Ren nor Itsuki! why the hell would I want that! did you see their bodies with your own eyes!?" Roared Issei.

"N-no I didn't" Answered Motoyasu.

"Then what if someone is lying!" Roared issei.

"I think the representative of the church is a reliable source" Said a feminine voice.

Issei looked behind Motoyasu and saw Myne with a smug grin.

"They say that the demonic dragon of evil killed Itsuki and Ren while they were fighting the monsters in the cave" Said Myne.

"That's just ridiculous!" Shouted Raphtalia.

"I don't understand why she has to do all of this all the fucking time" Whispered Issei.

'Guess the weaklings really died' Thought Issei.

Then Issei suddenly realised something.

"You killed both of them!" Shouted Issei as he pointed his finger at her.

"Don't say nonsense! Lighting spear cage!" Shouted Motoyasu and a lightning spear cage appeared around them trapping them together.

Kiyomi transformed into her human form.

"You even brainwashed a pretty lady there too! you scum!" Shouted Motoyasu as he looked at Kiyomi.

"You were the one who wounded her in the first place!" Roared Issei.

"I swear that I'll avenge them!" Shouted Motoyasu as he was getting ready to attack.

"Alright, you wanna die too? so be it" Said issei as his mood changed.

His stare was cold his aura swirled around him.

Everyone trembled out from fear even Motoyasu was slightly scared but hatred didn't let him to back down.

"Raphtalia" Said Issei and with a nod Raphtalia sprinted towards Motoyasu's party members taking them out one by one.

"Incursio balance breaker!" Roared Issei.

[Welsh Tyrant balance breaker] Roared Ddraig and Issei was standing in his balance breaker once again.

Issei and Motoyasu clashed together after Issei let out Zin to protect Kiyomi and Melty, not that he really needed to do that....

"Lighting meteor spear!" Shouted Motoyasu and a bunch of lightning spears flew straight at Issei.

[DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE] Roared Ddraig after the energy wings appeared on issei's back.

Motoyasu's attack vanished completely and before he could do anything else Issei punched him in the guts.

Motoyasu fell on the ground and looked at Issei scared.

Issei looked around and saw that Raphtalia dealt with everyone already including Myne who was the most wounded, she was passed out.

"So what is it gonna be? either you leave us alone or either you die" Said Issei.

"P-p-please spare us" Said Motoyasu silently.

"What did you say? I didn't hear ya?" Asked issei again.

"P-p-please spare us!!!" Shouted Motoyasu on top of his lungs.

"Alright, but before that" Said Issei as he grabbed Motoyasu's left arm and instantly twisted it the opposite way.

"AAAHAHAAA MY ARM!!" Screamed Motoyasu as Issei broke his arm.

"That's for hurting Kiyomi, consider this as a warning" Said Issei coldly as he walked off to Kiyomi together with Raphtalia as he deactivated his balance breaker.

"Alright dear, show me the wound" Said Issei as he looked at her with a kind smile.

She removed her hand from her side and revealed a nasty wound that was not that bad nor too deep.

Issei equipped his new shield and got some of her blood on the new shield's gem and then bit his finger and some droplets of his own blood got on the gem.

"Kiyomi, please give me the draconic plant" Said Issei.

Kiyomi opened her pocked dimension and took out a blood red plant with green spots on the leaves.

She gave it to Issei.

"Thank you" Said Issei as he took the plant and let the shield absorb it.

After a minute or two the gem glowed brightly and four vials with dragon marks appeared on the shield that contained golden liquid.

"Here, drink this" Said Issei as he gave her the potion.

As she drank the potion, her wound started to glow green and red before closing.

"Well? how do you feel? does it hurt?" Asked Issei.

"No it's fine, no need to worry" Said Kiyomi as she hugged him.

Then issei's and Kiyomi's senses picked up danger from above.

"Everyone! we get near me! something big is coming" Said Issei.

"But what about my sister!" Panicked Melty.

"Ghh alright! bring everyone here immediately" Said Issei.

The girls went to every single party member and Motoyasu too, yes even... Myne.

While Issei looked around and saw that the knights were gone.

'So they planned this from the very start' Thought Issei.

"Incursio balance breaker!" Roared Issei

[Welsh Tyrant balance breaker!" Roared Ddraig and Issei was back in his armor.

"Fire dragon's shield! Airstrike shield! second shield!" Roared Issei and a bunch of shields appeared in the sky.

The girls were done and the passed out people were together close to Issei.

"Brother! this won't be enough!" Roared Ddraig.

"Then what am I supposed to do!" Roared Issei back.

"You need at least a juggernaut shield!" Roared Ddraig.

"But I don't have enough time to activate the juggernaut drive! is it possible to use it in my balance breaker?" Asked Issei.

"It is possible but you might face dangerous aftermath" Said Ddraig.

"Issei! don't do it!" Shouted Raphtalia.

"Sory Raph but..... JUGGERNAUT SHIELD!" Roared Issei.

An enormous shield appeared above them.

Kiyomi was stunned by its size alone but then worry came over her as she saw Issei collapse.

"Issei!" Shouted the three girls.

"I-its okay, I'm alright" Said Issei as he slowly stood up with the help of his tail.

And just seconds later a massive golden beam came crashing down from the sky.

It hit his fire dragon shield which disappeared quickly, then it reached both airstrike shields who held out longer but shattered anyways, and it reached his juggernaut shield and it started to push it down.

"DDRAIG!" Roared Issei as he lifted his arm into the sky towards the juggernaut shield.

[BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOOOOOST!!] Roared Ddraig and his juggernaut Shield held out the beam strongly until the beam vanished.

Issei deactivated the shield and his balance breaker as well and fell on his knees as he vomited a lot of blood.

"ISSEI!" The girls became even more worried.

"It's fine" Said Issei weakly as he took the dragon's essence and drank it.

"AAAH that's better" Said Issei as he tried to stand up but to no avail as he fell back down.

"Sorry brother, but you are too weak right now, the juggernaut shield took a lot of your energy because you were in your balance breaker and plus boosting damaged your internal organs way too much, luckily you had dragon's essence to heal yourself, right now you need to rest until your strength returns" Informed Ddraig.

"Yeah, the feeling wasn't pretty" Said Issei.

They looked around and saw that the beam affected their surroundings a lot as no grass, trees, or anything like that, about in half kilometre range.

Suddenly they heard clapping and as they looked to the source they saw an old man clapping with a smile, he wore what looked like a priest's robe.

"It's the pope!?" Shouted Melty.

"Wait, it's the pope from the church, I remember when he watched us duel!" Said Issei.

Motoyasu and his party woke up and saw the destruction around them, his healers healed his arm.

"Incredible I must commend you! you just took judgement head on an exceedingly powerful group ritual and yet you are still alive" Said the pope.

Everyone let out a shocked gasp.

"I expected nothing less from the red dragon emperor of protection or should I say demonic dragon of evil" Said the pope as he stopped clapping.

"I'm sure you are aware of your sins" Said the pope.

"My sins?" Asked Issei.

"You deceived the people to turn against this country so I shall purify you in the name of God so that you won't cause any of these demonic deeds!" Shouted the pope.

"How dare you!? do you realise what you just did? you nearly killed the next queen with that attack! and the Spear hero too!" Shouted Myne.

"The spear hero and the princess were murdered by the demonic dragon emperor of evil just like the other two heroes, at least that's the story people will be told" Said the pope.

"And as far as God is concerned you are already dead" Said the pope.

"The hell is he talking about Myne? please explain" Said Motoyasu with an already healed arm.

"God's wishes and desires shall be fulfilled" Said the pope.

"This human is completely insane!" Roared Kiyomi.

"That logic is pretty twisted and reminds me of someone" Said Melty as she looked at Myne.

"We have made plans to make a new government to take the royal family's place" Said the pope.

"What! that's ridiculous! this country was always ruled by royalty! our family is the only one fit to-" Said Myne but the pope continued.

"To abuse power and disrespect the church look down on God himself? not anymore! This country does not need such rulers" Said the pope.

"The same is to you too heroes, people worship their saviours from the waves but this did more harm than good" Said the pope.

"The Bow hero and Sword hero started investigation deeper and that's how God's judgement fell upon them!" Said the pope.

"Wait, so it wasn't Issei who killed them?" Asked Motoyasu as he looked at Issei.

"Hahahaha that was entertaining, but I think it's enough of this chit chat" Said the pope as someone handed him a golden sword.

"The foul spear hero and demonic dragon emperor shall be purified in the name of God!" Shouted the pope as a bunch of priests and nuns gathered behind the pope.

"Be careful issei! that sword is bad news!" Shouted Melty.
