20 Chapter 20

I was right in that Beatrix would find out about our departure sooner than I would appreciate as by the time we got halfway to the train station I could see the older version of Alpha wearing her standard hood sitting on her horse waiting for us down the road.

"How did you even hear about us leaving," I asked with my eyebrow twitching wondering actually how the hell the horse actually got here first when we left first and our carriage was an enchanted vehicle not all too different from a car.

"I didn't... I smelled Alpha leaving so I tracked the direction of the scent and by knowing the road I knew you would arrive here so I used the horse to cut through to here quicker." She reported dully as she looked at me with no real care about her superhuman feat.

"Beatrix go home" Alpha called out frustratedly and Beatrix made absolutely no sign that she heard her niece. So with a growl of frustration, Alpha spoke again with the threat of violence ever so slightly edging into her tone. "Aunty... Go home please."

At Alpha actually calling her aunty, her dull eyes blinked with life returning to them. Then she smiled as she slid off her horse and with a flicker of movement she sat down in the front of the carriage beside Zeta who was driving it as she spoke lightly. "No, it's ok. I have business in the capital anyway so we can go together." She said shamelessly and no inflection in her voice. And although in my position of still being buried in Ereshkigal's lap, I could see her greyish-blond hair rise as Ereshkigal put pressure on the elf woman.

Sure Scathach and the other gods and goddesses had a little issue with the woman for hurting me as no real harm was done to me with my Godhand. But there was a rift between her and the Shadow Garden girls and Ereshkigal was not at all happy with her killing me that time.

Of course, Scathach and most of the gods beat Beatrix like the unwanted red-haired step-child of a family in the name of training so seeing Herakles use the elf as a baseball bat by her feet to smash through a couple of pillars made any hard feelings I had for her evaporate as we were in the same boat of taking on the gods most strict training.

"Eresh relax. I knew she would catch up one way or another anyway." I said lightly and Ereshkigal's long blond hair almost covered my head as the petite beauty bent over slightly so she could look into my eyes and pout making me chuckle at the adorable sight.

"But!-" Before she could continue a fluffy tail floofed her in the face making her freeze as the tail returned to rest on my chest to act as a warm blanket.

"Beatrix's has paid for her mistake. many a time and is the only one who keeps up with the constant training Jake does and acts as motivation for him to get stronger." Tamamo spoke idly as she smiled at me as I hugged her big fluffy tail making her giggle as I stroked my hands through the fur.

The rest of the trip to the train station in the center of the Kageno fief was uneventful with us getting into the train and taking a couple of the higher quality booths with Zeta, Delta, and Tamamo sitting with me in the booth as Alpha, Beatrix, and Ereshkigal took the other booth.

"So who has the fluffiest tail Jake?!" Delta asked excitedly and I froze as all three beastkin girls eyed one another as though the other was their mortal enemy and this question was like a girl asking if she was prettier than another girl... And I couldn't just say something like. 'Oh you are both pretty' No these girls for one could literally smell out lies and all three strong in their own ways.

So I improvised as any man has to when he is asked if some pants make their girls ass look big and they want to say yes their ass looks fantastic and propped up by those tight jeans but he knew that was the terrible answer so he just made up bullshit to distract the girl.

"Hmm that is a difficult answer... Delta honestly your tail is the softest, but you get too excited and I don't like feeling your tail punch and slap me around when we snuggle." I started with Delta's eyes lightning up gleefully before my later words made her ears tilt downward showing her depression as her excitement was a core of her personality. "Zeta yours is in between in all aspects with your only issue being how you sometimes love bite me in your sleep and draw blood." I continued as I pulled my shirt aside to show the bite mark scar she left on my arm making her blush.

Then I looked at Tamamo and she looked at me like I was going to shame her by throwing tomatoes or something at her in the middle of the town square. "Tamamo is the perfect housewife and is soft and comfy in the best ways... Your only issue is that your tail is too fluffy and we become a sweaty mess when we snuggle unless you use a charm to lower the temperatures under the blanket." I explained seriously with Tamamo nodding hurriedly and even taking out a pink notepad that read 'housewife tips'

With that harrowing question out of the way, I looked outside the window of the train watching as the train passed by the wide open fields and forests that were filled with very hostile magical wildlife like some jumbo bears that were equal to elephants back in my old world and as we passed by a massive lake I saw what looked to be a large flood dragon lounging on the beach soaking up the warm sun's rays.

"Hmm, that flood dragon could be a decent challenge for you. Especially with how Baldur and Herakles stole your challenge in killing that true dragon." I heard Scathach whisper to me mentally as I had opened back up the connection to the gods seeing as nothing too private was happening and I didn't want to make the gods go stir crazy within me as I knew I was their primary source of entertainment.

I paused hearing her words and I frowned as I considered my chances against it before I heard a hum from Scathach and I just nodded as her subtle reminder for me to just do shit and not overthink it, made me send a mental agreement to her. "Alright on the way home I will deal with it... If it's not sentient at least." I said as I wasn't some murder hobo who would run up to a dragon who lived in a massive lake just minding its own business to kill it for the sake of killing it.

I had better challenges like fighting actual gods who would only hold back enough to make a fight possible and held no compunction in killing me in training with how I had Herakles god hand and Ereshkigal to heal my soul of the stress of resurrecting.

Another hour later as we arrived at the capital I smiled wryly as I saw our welcoming committee included Princess Alexia. She had grown up well over the last two years and at seeing my form as I walked out of the train she raised an eyebrow and a devilish smile crossed her face and I realized she was going to bring me trouble...
