[Third Person's POV]

When Cid arrived in the room where Sherry was previously researching and deciphering the artifact he saw Nu inspecting the bodies of both Glen the Lion's Mane of the Crimson Knights and Marco Granger.

"Yo Nu, fancy seeing you here" Cid said, getting Nu's attention.

"Ah, Lord Shadow! Sorry my lord I was just reminiscing a little" She said while looking up from Marco's unconscious body.

"About…?" Cid asked, trying to be considerate even though he knew what she was going to be talking about.

"Back in my old life… this man was my fiance. He was a skilled dark knight and an honorable man, but I took him to high society events like some sort of accessory.

In retrospect, all I did was what others expected of me. I never made my own decisions. It was a sad and dull life to live. But enough about that it's all in the past now."

Nu then dropped onto one new and put a hand over her chest "Master Shadow, Shadow Garden has already taken care of all of the black coats that were outside the perimeter. The only ones left are the ones that are holed up inside the auditorium.

And Iris Midgar is openly holding the Perimeter with her squadron of Knights. Although we aren't able to use Magic, thanks to your guidance in the way of fighting and Martial Arts we are still able to fight due to the 6 techniques you've decided to bestow upon all of us. So please use us as you see fit"

Cid nodded his head "As you already know your magic is being blocked by the artifact called the Eyes of Avarice."

Nu nodded her head, remembering what they discussed previously "It's exactly how you predicted my lord down to every last detail. Spectacular, I'm simply in awe at your incredible insight."

"There's a girl I want to recruit into Shadow Garden, she is pretty good at deciphering artifacts and the likes, I just know she and Eta would get along well.

At the moment, she is going through a test I made for her. She is trying to decipher the key to Eye of Avarice and put a stop to it. Currently she is of need of her tools in order to do it, so could you help gather the equipment for it, they are all here"

Nu widens her eyes in shock "Someone Lord Shadow wants to personally recruit, she must be something special. Don't worry my lord I shall get everything prepared, they're just scattered around"

Nu then started to gather everything. When she was done she handed it to Cid "Here you go my Lord"

Cid just took a hold of Nu's chin and stole a kiss from her, when he was withdrawing he softly bit it. Cid smirked seeing her stunned expression and left while waving his hands.

"Thanks Nu, you're the best"

Nu just stood there frozen with her hands out as if handing someone something until she heard the sound of the door closing bringing her back to reality.

Nu started blinking rapidly trying to process what just happened "...KYAAAAA~ HE DID IT! MY LORD DID IT! HE KISSED ME, HE REALLY KISSED ME!"

Nu started dancing around doing a victory dance until her eyes went back onto Marco's body, which she stopped what she was doing and her expression turned serious.

A slime sword slowly appeared in Nu's hands, which she pointed directly at Marco's neck. "Did you hear our talk just now"

'His breathing and pulse are steady, he's alive but he's definitely not conscious, Good.'

"Since I'm in a pretty good mood at the moment, I suppose I can spare you. None who knows Master's true identity can be allowed to live" Nu said with a smirk as she undid her disguise.

She turned around and started skipping away while swaying her head to the side clearly in a good mood.

Meanwhile Cid who was walking back towards Sherry used his ability to watch Nu's reactions. Seeing her dancing around happily just made Cid shake his head as he let out a chuckle.

When he arrived at where Sherry was, she let out a sigh of relief seeing him. "Cid! Thank goodness you're safe, you didn't get hurt, did you?"

"Nope, there's nobody alive that saw me go into your study."

"I see… I'm glad"

"Here" Cid said, handing her the materials she needed to decipher the artifact.

"Thank you" Sherry smiled widely, her expression then grew serious as she started to decipher the artifact.

It took a while but Sherry was finally able to decipher the key to stopping the Eyes of Avarice.

"I finally did it! I finally finished my analysis!" Sherry loudly exclaimed. She then grew teary eyed and as she wiped her tears she said "Oh, Thank goodness… and it's all thanks to you Cid, thank you for risking your life and getting me my tools."

Cid just patted her head "Great work"

Which made Sherry blush and leaned in more towards the head pats. "Now we can go save my foster father and all the captured students."

"Ah yes save the vice-principal" Cid said almost monotone while inwardly rolling his eyes.

"That's right" Sherry nodded "The first person to actually study the Eye of Avarice was actually my mother. And my foster father supported her the whole time."

Sherry then smiled softly, appearing thankful and appreciative "After mother died, he took me in when I had no one else to turn to, this time it's my turn to save him"

When Sherry turned towards the bookshelf, Cid's smile disappeared and a cold expression soon replaced it.

Sherry started looking at the books and finally picked one, as she pulled it the bookshelf started spreading apart opening up leading to a hidden passageway.

Sherry then turned towards Cid, who's expression quickly returned to his usual smile.

"We can go through this underground tunnel to reach the enemy stronghold. Once there we will throw this in the same direction as the artifact and it should stop it.

There are actually a lot of emergency tunnels underneath the academy. While I was running away, I saw everyone heading towards the auditorium, that's where the eye must be at. We can get there quickly through this tunnel" Sherry explained while motioning towards the passageway.

Cid softly smiled at her "It's best if you do this alone, if I go with you there's a chance we might be discovered"

"But…" tried to disagree but before that could happen Cid continued

"I need you to promise me something Sherry" Cid said in a serious tone.

Sherry got serious and nodded her head "After your done and throw the key, I need you to come back here quickly, *sigh* I need you to stay behind the bookshelf when you do and peek through the large gap and not get detected and just watch. Do not, I repeat do not, come out until I say so, got it?"

Sherry was confused but nodded her head upon seeing how unusually serious Cid was being.

Sherry turned around and was about to run into the tunnel but Cid called out to her. "Wait one more thing"

Sherry turned around, and as she did Cid pulled Sherry into a kiss, locking their lips together, which left her stunned.

When they disconnected Cid gave her a smirk "That's for good luck", Cid then disappeared from her view.

Sherry's entire face turned red to the point that if she didn't need to save her father she would have fainted on the spot.

'WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWAAAAAAAAAA!'

Sherry shouted in her mind as she quickly turned around almost crashing into the bookshelf and started running to the point her feet almost looked like wheels.

She was touching her lips while still screaming in her head….
