[Third Person's PoV]

As Sherry was dragging Cid along, Cid decided to tease her.

"We're already at the hand holding stage? Take me out to dinner first" Cid said with a teasing smirk.

"What?" Sherry looked at Cid in confusion, while Cid held up their hands that were being held by Sherry with a raised brow.

"Waaah!" Sherry screamed as she tried to disconnect their hands.

But Cid just continued smirking, he interlocked their fingers making Sherry unable to let go.

Sherry's face turned beat red when she noticed Cid's action, steam started coming out from the top of her head.

"Wha- Wha- Wha- What do you think you're doing!" Sherry shouted, flustered beyond belief.

Cid just looked at her in confusion "What does it look like I'm doing? I'm holding your hand"

Sherry then started feeling butterflies in her stomach and assumed the worst "Wha- Wha- What if I become pregnant?! Uh oh I can already feel something in my stomach, is the baby forming?" Sherry panicked "I'm too young to be a mother"

Cid just turned towards Sherry and looked at her in shock 'No way she actually believes that? This is real? I thought it was just an anime trope!'

"What are you talking about? What baby?" Cid asked, in disbelief of what he was hearing.

Sherry then put a hand on her stomach and looked at Cid with watery eyes "I'm having this fuzzy feeling in my stomach, it started ever since we started holding hands. I once asked father were babies come from and he said when a boy and a girl hold hands a baby is born between the union of the two of them"

Cid was really resistant the urge to burst out laughing, he took a hold of their intertwined hand with his other free hand and looked at Sherry in the eyes with a serious expression

He used all his experience he had in acting and said "I promise to take of both you and our unborn child when he arrives"

Sherry looked up at Cid as she softly whispered "Cid-kun…"

Cid couldn't hold it together anymore, that was his breaking point, he started laughing, so much so to the point he had to use the walls as support, while Sherry looked at Cid in confusion.

After catching his breath Cid then explained "He was lying Sherry, he probably said it cause you were small and were too young to actually know about, so to spare you the details he told a white lie. Babies don't come from holding hands"

"Then the fuzzy feeling in my stomach?" She asked as her whole world came crumbling down.

Cid just shook his head "It's call having butterfly in your stomachs"

"THERE'S BUTTERFLY IN MY STOMACHS!" She screamed out in shock.

Cid rolled his eyes and patted her head "No silly, it just an expression, it means your nervous, anxious, or excited,"

"Oh" she said "Then that means I'm not pregnant?" She asked with a tinge of disappointment.

Cid just chuckled and shook his head "No, you're not pregnant"

Sherry then grew really embarrassed, she crouched down and covered her face with her hands wanting to crawl into a hole and never come out of it.

Cid just shook his head again and looked at her in amusement. "Well come on you were taking me somewhere weren't you"

"That's right, the artifact! Come on we have to go quickly" Sherry realized she had more important things to worry about than her own embarrassment, she quickly stood up and started sprinting to the vice Principal's office with Cid following right behind her.

When she entered the office she immediately started looking on the bookshelf for her research papers, while Cid sat down by the couch and waited for her to finish.

"Now where is it?" she softly muttered to herself "Ah! Here it is! My notes!" Sherry exclaimed as she took out a small stack of papers.

"Here take a look, these are some documents from my old research" Sherry said as she started handing it to Cid.

She pointed towards the picture of an eye, and as she was about to explain Cid said what it was "I see… so it's the Eyes of Avarice"

Sherry's eyes went wide "Wait you know of it? Wait that's right you study the ancient languages and history as well, this is perfect"

"Then you know that we must stop it at all cost, if it releases the amount of magic it has stored then the entire school would be blown up"

She then held up the key of the artifact she was carrying "This is the only way to stop it, it was originally designed to fix the eye's effect. It regulates the excess magic it has stored and releases it safely.

If we get to the eye before it explodes, we could use this to stop it but I haven't finished decoding it and I left all my equipment in my lab"

"Let me get it quickly then"

"It's too dangerous you could be hurt"

Cid just gave her a confident smirk. "You've seen a bit of how I fought in the tournament, do you really think I'll be in any danger? Plus I'm really good at being sneaky so no one would really be able to detect me"

Sherry then looked at Cid with tears in her eyes. She reached over and grabbed his hand as she asked "Please… Please promise me you'll come back safe and sound, alright?

Cid just smiled as he patted her head "I promise, alright? You don't have anything to worry about."

Cid then stood up from where he was sitting and walked out, while Sherry held her hands together and prayed "Please stay safe Cid"

As Cid was leisurely walking towards her office he soon encountered Rex with a bunch of his goons surrounding surveying the area.

When they saw Cid, Rex made a sadistic expression, "oh lookie here, if it isn't a wandering student. You must have some real shit luck if you ran into us."

But Cid didn't pay him any attention, he just continued walking as if they didn't exist.

Rex then scrowled "Who the hell do you think your ignoring, you fucker. What are you too scared to talk"

But Cid just kept walking with his Hands in pockets and walked past them.

Rex turned around and put a hand on Cid's shoulder "Where the hell do you think you're-" before Rex could finish and as soon as he put a hand on Cid's shoulder, he alongside his goons combusted into black flames making them scream out in agony.

"ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

But once again Cid just continued walking without stopping as the figures behind him turned into ashes scattering in the wind…
