111 Chapter 110

[Third Person's PoV]

Seeing Alpha and Beatrix walking away, Cid smiled, his hand on his chin, before sinking into his shadow, leaving the throne room empty.

Deleting his presence, Cid appeared behind Sherry, who was inside the lab tinkering with some objects, trying to create new artifacts. Meanwhile, Eta was seen sleeping on her desk with her head down and bags under her eyes.

As Cid appeared, he picked up Sherry in a princess carry, taking her by complete surprise, causing her to let out a yelp. She looked towards the person who picked her up and sighed with relief when she realized it was only Cid.

"You scared me," she said in his arms, a hand on her chest.

Cid just smiled while looking at her. "Sorry about that, I couldn't help it. You let out the cutest noise."

Sherry grew embarrassed upon hearing that and didn't know how to respond, so she wrapped her arms around his neck to secure herself, but then grew even more embarrassed by her own actions.

"W-Why are you here?" she asked, looking at him shyly.

Cid gave her a fake pout, teasingly. "Well, I've been waiting for someone to come and get me so we can spend time together, but that person hasn't even approached me since arriving here and spends most of her time locked up in a lab."

"Sorry, I got too enthralled in research," she muttered, blushing.

Cid just smiled. "That's alright. After all, I came here to kidnap you. We're going on a date."

Her arms around him unconsciously tightened when she heard that idea. "Really? Where are we going?"

"Can't say, sorry," Cid smirked, while Sherry happily pouted before giggling.

"Do I have to dress fancy?"

"If you want to."

Sherry nodded before jumping down from his arms. "Let me get ready," she said excitedly before jumping into her shadow.

Cid covered his mouth to stop himself from laughing when he saw her close her eyes before jumping in.

Cid shook his head in amusement before thinking, 'Did she already learn how to shadow travel that quickly? It hasn't been that long since she acquired these powers… as expected of her, I'm impressed.'

After a few minutes of waiting for her, Cid changed his outfit to an all black three-piece suit. As he waited, he approached the sleeping Eta and conjured a blanket using magic, draping it over her body while moving her hair from her face. He then kissed the top of her head which caused her to smile in her sleep.

After a few more minutes, Sherry appeared wearing a white button-up blouse with a small ribbon, tucked into a long black skirt raised up to just underneath her breast. She also wore black leggings and a pink long cardigan, which rested loosely on her forearms.

As she arrived, she did a small spin before looking down shyly and asking, "What do you think?" while looking slightly up to see his expression.

Cid just smiled and lifted her chin before kissing her pink lips. "I think you look very beautiful."

She turned red before covering her eyes and swaying side to side. "I think you look very handsome as well."

Cid chuckled before grabbing her hands from her face and holding them onto his. "So tell me, do you want me to simply teleport us there or do you want to enjoy our journey to our destination?"

Sherry puckered her lips to the side as she pondered before answering, "I want the journey," she said with a smile.

Cid smiled and nodded his head before teleporting them just outside the base. "Kaisel."

From underneath them, Kaisel took both of them to the skies, surprising as everything was happening too fast. She almost fell off Kaisel, but Cid managed to take hold of her and bring her close to his chest.

She once again grew embarrassed as she hugged him tightly, afraid to fall off. Cid just smiled as he softly patted her hair. "It's alright. Look."

Sherry took a deep breath to calm herself down before taking a peek away from Cid's chest and looking ahead. The scene almost left her breathless.

They were over the clouds, with the skies growing orange and just above them the stars would sparkle. Sherry grew entranced watching the setting sun as the sound of the wind stained her ears.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Cid asked in her mind, using the connection between them so he wouldn't have to raise his voice and disturb the scenery.

Sherry was speechless as she nodded her head in agreement, unconsciously reaching over and taking hold of Cid's hand before softly smiling.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, feeling the wind crash against her softly.

Cid then sat on top of Kaisel before softly pulling Sherry to sit in between his legs. Cid wrapped his arms around her waist while Sherry leaned back and rested her head against his chest, staring at the sun.

Cid used his ability and made them undetectable before kissing Sherry on the cheeks, which caused her to start giggling.

After a few more minutes, Kaisel swooped down, surprising Sherry as they landed in front of the gates to the capital.

As they landed, Sherry was a bit confused as to why they didn't react, but when she looked at Cid, who just smiled at her, she understood that it was his doing.

So holding hands, Cid and Sherry walked right past the guards that were monitoring the gates and entered the city.

As they walked a few meters ahead, Cid undid his ability, and the two of them started their date as they walked through the city with their fingers interlocked.

As Cid guided Sherry to their destination, they would pass by some stores, where they would stop and admire the displays before continuing onwards.

Cid noticed that Sherry admired one piece of jewelry more than the others before walking away with a smile and a skip in her steps.

Cid smirked before disconnecting his hands from Sherry, before taking both his hands and pressing them tightly against each other.

Sherry was at first confused, and she expressed as such, "What are you doing?"

Cid didn't say anything and just smirked before opening a tiny space around his thumbs, which he presented to her.

"Blow on it?"

"What?" She asked in pure confusion.

"Just trust me," Cid said confidently.

Although confused, she did as he said, she took a deep breath before blowing air in between the gaps of his thumbs.

As she did, Cid started shaking his joint hands before opening his hands and presenting her with a gift, the necklace with a small pink diamond she was admiring in the window.

"Tada! Magic!" Cid exaggeratedly said with amusement.

"Here let me put it on you," he said as he repositioned her hair before draping the necklace on her neck and tying it behind her.

Tears streamed down her eyes slightly as she held the gem in her hand and covered her mouth in shock.

She wrapped her arms around Cid tightly before looking up to him and giving the brightest smile she ever made. "Thank you."

Cid was stunned seeing her smile, his cheeks reddened ever so slightly before looking away and covering his mouth with his fist. "Don't worry about it, it's nothing," he said, gathering his composure before wiping away her tears from her face.

After a few seconds, Sherry backed away before leaning forward, which emphasized her chest. "So, what do you think?"

Cid just kissed her forehead. "Absolutely adorable."

Sherry just started chuckling before intertwining her hand with Cid's and pressing her chest against his arm while holding him lovingly.
