Things played quite uneventful as Lookie and Demus venture the forest.

Though constant roar reverberated occasionally now and then, there's no sound indicating that a nearby beast is around.

All roars came from the far distance.

Surely, it's from a powerful beast roaming the depths.

Lookie look around cautiously still gripping the hilt of his sword ready to draw and slash if time calls it.

Demus did the same. Actually he's been doing it the whole time.

Rustling..

A different sound finally disturbed their boring pace. Turning their backs its way,

Shing!

Shing!

They draw their weapons simultaneously.

Eying the dilapidated village which is now in front of them.

Brick walls on a verge of collapse, a building flattened into shambles.

A narrow isle is at the middle to which they slowly walk through.

All were wrecked.

Slow and quiet steps, weapons raised keeping guards to the back and front.

Demus nod to Lookie while turning his face towards a direction then Lookie turn to the back guarding this direction.

Over their short moment of company, though both were quiet people, they somehow gained a tacit understanding. Subconsciously doing their parts in sync.

Crash

A sudden crashing noise heightened their alertness to the peak.

Halting their steps, they scrutinized the surroundings.

Quiet.

So quiet.

So suddenly quiet that….

Even the constant roars resounding outside were halted as if time stopped for this moment.

Then a turbulent air.

Demus stiffened in his spot, suddenly feeling his hairs standing up. His screaming senses warned him for a coming danger.

Lookie also felt his scalp tinged, shivers on his back and the dripping cold sweat gives him a warning.

Tensing muscles.

Standing hairs.

His instinct is screaming.

SCREECH...SCREECH….SCREECH…

A deafening screech of an unidentified monster resounded.

Not just in this part , but somehow it covered half of the world.

" Wha-what's this?"

" Is another hell about to descend?"

" Haven't we had enough of this sh*ts?"

People of the world shouted their own curses and reactions.

Jack and Geneva at the near distance both knitted their brows, frowning.

" What's this sudden phenomenon?"

Far in the distance is a wide expanse of sand bridled with skeletons of various species.

A tyrannosaurus skull embedded halfway through the sand.

A jade-like mammoth tusks protruding upwards.

A humanoid skeleton lying scattered snapped from joints.

This expanse is the Feral Desert, a result of continuous bombing of nuclear weapons happened during the emergence making it like a burial of countless beasts of various species, primitive and ancient.

This place somewhat evolved and became this dangerous Feral Desert , home of sand monsters.

However unknown to many , this place is also a home , a hide out, a headquarters of a notorious organization named , Devil's Hand.

In the depths of this desert, located underground is a series of caves interconnected to each other arranged like a bee hive.

At the very center of this hive is a spacious cave adorned with tubes and experimental glasses.

Various apparatus were in the middle of a run. The massive machine at the side vibrated constantly generating currents to all the connected components situated around the world.

Then a beams of light originating from different directions shot to skies.

Boooom. Explosion occurred then silence as if in a middle of a tranquil night.

A deafening screeching sound was released

"HAHAHAHA…IT HAS BEGAN…NO ONE CAN SUPPRESS THE RISE OF THIS CHAOTIC ERA....HAHAHA"

A maniacal laugh of a certain man in white laboratory robe resounded through this part of the DEVIL'S HAND HIVE.

His eyes in tears and his face displayed a strange scary creepy smile.

A madman.

As the saying went 'the greatest danger you would face is yourself'.

It is like saying 'Be careful with beast but be more careful with your fellow human'. The real devil is lying within us.

Boom. Boom. Boom

AAAWWWWWOOOOOOO

HHHHHUUUNNNKKKKKKK

All beasts shouted in unison then explosion resounded one after another.

The half gained stability seemed to be in a verge of collapsing.

The attempt of establishing a government in this greater world seemed to be…
