Rhys Lewallen

In the Dark forests within the Batha province of the Pryno Kingdom lay a huge river.

Legends had it that, the river was the dwelling place of the Rain and Fertility goddess. Because of this very reason,no one dared to stroll near the river or it's surrounding patches of land.

It was believed the goddess would kill any intruder that dared to go there and prevent the rain from pouring on the crops for a long time and cause famine in the kingdom.

Time had passed by and the deeds and tales of the goddess' abode had been passed on from the older generation to the younger generations. The tale had stuck and clung unto the hearts of the people of the Pryno Kingdom, even the powerful Cultivators dared not to stroll there.

Because of this, the river side had been quiet and devoid of footpaths for a very long time. But not today.

Less than a mortal stone throw from the Riverside stood a group of Cultivators, each radiating the power of a Basic Level Martial Cultivator and laughing merrily.

"Now that son of a Whore won't come back, Third Prince James will definitely be happy with us. Hehehe " One of them said.

"Of Course, that good-for-nothing will die at the hands of the goddess and if he's forgiven, he'll die by my Sword!" the stronger one amongst the group uttered.

Each and every person in the group waited in anticipation of how things will play between the goddess and their anniversary. Of course they were hid behind a large tree away from the boundaries of godess' dwelling.

Rhys dashed through the knee-high grasses at the fastest pace a mortal could reach.

He couldn't bear to go back and face those Cultivators again. They would tear him from limb to limb!

Staying around also meant certain death. As a native of Pryno Kingdom, how could he not know about the deeds of the goddess.

He stood there for about a minute in silence until BOOM!!

A large stone landed right next to him. Had he sat down earlier, he probably would have been turned into smithereens.

His body tensed for a few seconds but he got hold of it. One thing was certain, he couldn't stay here longer. The group of Cultivators wanted to kill him.

This time it was a huge stone, the next time it might be an arrow or a sledgehammer or power balls or any deadly weapon that those brats could get hold off.

He had to seek cover for the meantime. Looking around,he couldn't see any appropriate shelter, leaving him with only one option; the River.

Well, Rhys wasn't a chicken and he would rather die at the hands of a mighty goddess than be beaten, tortured and eventually killed by some low level arrogant Cultivators.

He steeled his mind and picked up his handbag and dived into the river. He intended to swim to the North-East part of the river and arrive at the native population who lived in the mountains.

If he wasn't too lucky and got killed by the goddess, then fine. His life wasn't worthy anyway.

His father, the king of the Pryno Kingdom had disowned him eight years ago, his mother was bedridden due to a poison ingestion. His younger Siblings were working as slaves at the Crown Prince's Castle and to cap it all up,he was a damn mortal!

In this world of Cultivation, the greatest insult was to be mortal. Powerless, weak and seen as a nuisance to the Cultivators.

He was once a Prince, but his stupid father never allowed him to cultivate.

"Offsprings of a slut can't cultivate " his father said to him when he was five years old and had requested for Cultivation resources.

Because of this reason, he had been bullied by the other Princes and Princesses. They would use him as their Punching bag,let him do the dirty works and eventually concocted false stories against him that got him disowned by his father.

Rhys knew for sure that it was his wicked siblings that had poisoned his dear mother.

Their pride wouldn't allow them to share a blood with a maid and her son. But was it her mother's fault?

King Alex was so drunk that night that he would have downright f*cked a pig.

Well, there was no pig and he had spotted Miss. Dorothy lighting up the candles in the corridor.

Poor Mortal, he had her sent to his private chamber where he had his way with her, forcefully.

Miss. Dorothy gave birth to Rhys and two other children, one from King Alex's brother who had raped her and the other from a group of bandits who had been sent by The First Queen to have their way with her.

She and her sons had to endure the beatings and tortures in the castle until the poor family were finally banished from the Royal Castle and ordered to go and live in the slums.

Rhys continued his advance, swimming like a mad man. The goddess could appear at any time and send him to his master.

The swim continued for about a few minutes until his body turned limp. His little strength suddenly left him and a powerful force shot him towards the river bank, sending him into a state of fear and panic.

Was the goddess coming after him? Was it his end? Oh What a worthless life.

He lay down, writhing in pain, waiting eagerly for the mighty goddess to come and take away his pathetic life and end it all.

After what felt like years to him but in reality a little over a minute, a strange humming noise resounded over the river.

A blinding white sphere formed on the river and from it appeared a beautiful young woman in pure white gown, with a golden crown on her head.

Every step she took was full of grace and she radiated a power more than four times the power of an Emperor Rank Cultivator. She possessed a power that could set the whole world ablaze, but her beautiful and innocent face made her look like she could even bear to crush an ant.

She kept advancing towards the river bank ignoring the cries of the panicked Rhys and casually playing with a colourless orb in her hand.

"One hundred and three years since a human stepped foot here. I had to kill him infront of the whole population. Just when I thought I could rest for a few years you dared step foot here and go as far as swim im my abode!". The goddess shouted.

"Well, well, well, let's see your greatest fear" She grabbed Rhys' head and started scanning his memories.

What she saw made her frown in anger and irritation, but this feeling didn't last long as a few moments later a smile formed on her lips.

"Well, you didn't come here out of sheer will, you were forced to seek cover from those bugs. You are found not guilty. Hehehe ".

The goddess waved her hand and immediately the group of young Cultivators who were watching everything unfold from afar suddenly appeared right next to the goddess.

Just a few seconds earlier, they had witnessed the appearance of a mighty deity as well as the thought of all those gifts promised to them by the Third Prince as a reward for killing Rhys.

Well, they were now shaking from fear and two of them had already wet their pants.

"Perfect Candidate" the goddess said as she pointed towards Rhys.

"What's your name?"

"I am Rhys Lewallen, the Illegitimate son of King Alex Of the Pryno Kingdom".

The goddess let out a hearty laugh after which she said " Time for your gift, hehehe".

She took out a colorless orb from her gown and brought it towards Rhys.
