When he lifted his head, he saw Phoenix looking down at him with a smile, "Zane, I thought of you every morning and every night, even while I was sleeping, I thought of you. I missed you terribly. Did you miss me?"

Zane felt like his heart was just about to leap from his chest. It pounded terribly in his chest, he could hear it beating at extreme speed. The louder the sound got, the more his vision became blinded with patches of white. It was as if he was standing in a pile of fluff that made his knees feel too weak to stand. 

"Zane." Phoenix whispered calmly and reached out to tug at his hand helping him up, "Why do you not want to answer me? Are you upset with me?"
