Zane listened to the lecture as he toasted the bread and layered the pastries on the tray. His groceries were almost finished, and he needed to go to the supermarket sometime soon. He pulled out a task bar and added jam and butter to the growing list of things to buy.

After setting the table, he walked over to the other side of the living room where the sofa had been transformed into a bed. Zane sighed. The first time they had met, the other had been sleeping on the tree, then sleeping in the taxi before sleeping at his place.

Phoenix had gone to bed three hours before him, and yet Zane had been up for about two hours. He had finished showering, exercising, taken a makeup class online, and was listening to a missed lecture, while Phoenix was still happily sleeping.
