The Many Choices

Shuyun, had named her?

She had to be joking, but then again, she knew her daughter to be above that of jokes.

But, how could this be?

The Ever Moving Forest of Eytria was a separate space, a pocket dimension within their world that possessed the purest nature qi. It was only known to the Royal Elfin Family, with the method of entry being passed down to its predecessors.

Being elves of royal blood, in order to unlock their full potential, it was mandatory that one would be named by the omnipresent force of nature, because, no other being or power could name them.

As royal elves, descendants such as herself have a long lost connection to the Great Elfin Ruler, a elf of such power over the concept of nature that all other race dared not to play fool around. She was named Pysla, the original ruler and mortal goddess of nature, natures incarnate. Naturally, being descendants, they too possess a great affinity to Nature Qi.

Different from other elves, who could be attributed to lesser elements of that of water and fire, she, and 'Meiying', her daughter, would have to receive the 'blessing' of nature in the form of a name. This, in the tradition of Royal Elfin Family, was the conformation to an elf's tie to their inherit nature.

She... hadn't received her name.

Contrary to her mother, she, even with staying within the Ever Moving Forest of Eytria since her birth, wasn't able to receive her name. This was a great dishonor to her mother, and while such cases had happened before, it was a disgrace to the ancestor to have one of her predecessors with such close ties to nature become unable to bond with it.

So she, the current queen of the Elvin race, while still fairly powerful with the Qi of Nature, will never reach the full potential as the head of the race that the Queens before her had achieved.

While other races may not know of this, it was a huge threat to the security of the elfin society.

The Elfin race was inherently a beautiful race. Their females and males alike all possessed alluring features that all would find pleasing to the eye. It wasn't unheard of that other races would take a liking to have such beautiful beings under their rule, shown through the attempts at racial domination in the past.

Of course, as the world's strongest race, the reigning Elfin Queen was easily able to stop them, preventing any further attacks on the wellbeing of Elfin Society.

Though, she could not compare to the magnitude of the past queens, as she, in the eyes of the past queens, would be seen as incomplete, never truly one of their own.

This was her biggest fear for her daughter.

While she, as the queen, may seem young, she was all but it. Having lived over 700 years, with the average lifespan of a royal elf in the 1,000s, she had experience the real world to its fullest.

She knew of the troubles her daughter would have to go through when she eventually took her place, and living without a name was her biggest worry.

But such a monumental and traditional event that was nature naming, was done by a human boy?

She didn't believe it.

It seemed that her daughter really liked this boy, going as far as to lie about such an event to lessen his sentence.
