6 An Usual Occurrence

"I found you lying on the forest ground on one of my usual walks"

Shuyun thought for a moment before asking.

"Was I left with anything beside my clothes?"

Meiying shook her head.

"No, you were injured at the waist when I had found you, though your blood had already dried up and you had stopped bleeding."

Shuyun wasn't really surprised at the revelation. There had to have been such a condition in order for him to have ended up within Meiying's house, with her caring for him. It was natural that with time, the injury would heal. Now identifying the events that which led up to his current situation, he lifted up his ragged shirt.

Though, the scar he was expecting was not there.

Even after a while of searching, he wasn't able to find the scar in question.

Seeing Shuyun's confusion, Meiying answered his lingering question.

"I healed your injury"

Shuyun, still with his head down searching for clues, spoke out.

"Yes, thank you, but where was my injury initially?"

Of course, though with time his injury may have healed, marks and scars was not unexpected. It was just, he couldn't find any.

"Right here"

Using her delicate pointer finger, she lifted the ragged shirt just a slight more before tracing her finger across the length of his chest. Shuyun inwardly gasped at how grave his injure truly was. There was no way neither he nor the person who possessed the body before him would have any chance in surviving such a fatal injury. Even with modern technology from back on earth would do naught to make his condition any better. So how did she do it? It couldn't be, that with the current era of technology, which, with his observation around the room, was clear not even a clock existed, that would actually surpass that of modern earth?

"How could you have healed me from such an injury?"

Meiying seemed surprised yet again. It seemed that his lack of knowledge over not only his own situation, but of the same world clearly they both resided in, was really puzzling. Though, any thoughts of suspicion couldn't have even begun to form before they dispersed within Meiying's mind. It was clear to her that his boy before her was a human, and maybe the mortal race of human beings that she heard from her mother didn't possess Qi. So, something so bizarre would clearly sprout confusion in anyone who heard it.

"I healed you with my qi"

Meiying brought her palm up into Shuyuns vision as soft white light clouded the center of her hand. Upon seeing the mystical energy, Shuyun could help but feel relaxed all over his body. The strange energy seemed to prompt the natural reaction of sleeping from within his body. He felt nothing more than to collapse back onto the bed and fall asleep.

Besides the innocent beauty herself, Shuyun had never seen such a beautiful thing within his life.

'So in this world, Qi is like magic...'

It left him momentarily numbed at the fact that such a fantastical concept that he had only seen straight out of movies and video games, actually existed within this world. It could even preform such miracles like healing that of his injury.

Now it made sense to him how the lack of technology in this new world was made up for.

Seeing Shuyun struggling to remain awake, Meiying chuckled, her soft, ethereal voice ringing in Shuyuns ears as she clasped her hand together, dispersing the mystical energy.

"If you are so tired, feel free to rest again. While I may have healed you, your body is still exhausted from trying to keep you alive for so long. As I have now met you formally, I am glad to be able to share this time with you..."

Meiying's eyes slightly dimmed as she looked off in the far distance, as if the walls posed no threat to her vison.

"But it seems this meeting between us will be cut short"

Seeing Meiying randomly looking towards the wooden wall, coupled with her saddened tone, Shuyun frowned.

"What do you mean?"
