"Hey," A deep voice echoed throughout the not-so-quiet room. When he didn't receive the reaction he wanted, he repeated with the company of his foot kicking the sofa. "Hey, servant. Wake up."

Xiao Zhan stirred in his sleep. It took him quite a while to adjust and fell asleep in this constricted area; and yet he is now being woken up by none other than the person who has caused his misery.

"What?" With a hoarse voice, he replied without opening his eyes.

"I'm hungry."

Seriously?! This guy! Just because he saved me, he thinks he has the authority to boss me around. Wait, did he even save me at all? Xiao Zhan complained inside his head.

"Go find yourself something to eat in the fridge." Xiao Zhan waved his hand as if to dismiss the one bothering him.

"What's a fridge?"

Xiao Zhan growled a long, inaudible groan. Knowing it'd make him naturally wide awake after all the explanation was done, he decided to stop sleeping. He glared at the tall figure in front of him as he sat up. "Please sit tight and await your meal, King of Elf. This servant will go and make something for you."

Could not sense the sarcasm in Xiao Zhan's voice, Yibo smirked and sat down proudly. "It's good that you know your place."

Xiao Zhan rolled his eyes and walked to freshening himself up real quick in the bathroom. Afterward, he went to open the fridge and looked for something light to cook. He took a big bowl of leftover rice and two eggs, along with a bag of frozen mixed vegetables from the freezer.

He was just beginning to heat the pan when a deep voice reverberated from the other side of the room. "Hey, is it done yet? I'm hungry."

Xiao Zhan closed his eyes and took a deep breath, refraining himself from using the spatula he was holding to commit a murder.

"Will be done soon, your highness majesty," he shouted back a response as he opened his eyes and started to cook.

While tossing and turning the garlic, Xiao Zhan recalled back to what brought the elf king to his house.

Flashback to last night

"I'm Wang Yibo, the king of the elf."

"Who did you say you are?"

"Why do mortal here likes me to repeat myself so much. I said I am Wang Yibo, the king of the elf."

Xiao Zhan sighed and shook his head. Inwardly, he was sympathizing with the tall figure before him. He couldn't believe how cruel the world was to gift someone only with the look but not the mind. It was a great waste to have such a flawless appearance on a total blockhead.

"Why are you still standing? You're supposed to bow before your king." Yibo said in a threatening voice, yet Xiao Zhan found it chucklesome instead.

"Ok. I bow before the greatest king of all." He made a gesture of bowing and tried to stifle his laugh. "Now, if the king is kind enough to tell me where his house is, I'll catch a cab for him."

Yibo furrowed his brows and looked at Xiao Zhan. "I don't get what you're saying at all. What's a cab? What's the house?"

Xiao Zhan felt so suffocated inside but he endured it. "A cab is a type of mechanic vehicle that helps transport people from one place to another, while a house is a place where we live. You know, with walls, roofs, and bed. More like that."

"I still don't get the first one, but I somehow seem to get the latter. But I don't live in a house. I live in a castle."

Is this guy testing my patience?!

"Well, then where is that castle of yours located, your highness?"

"Ethelred Forest, East of Achaikos, Kingdom of Aldous."

Xiao Zhan almost fell to the ground upon hearing these hard-to-pronounce words. "This guy really takes a strong blow to the head from birth," he muttered under his breath.

"What did you say?!" Yibo snapped.

"Oh, nothing. This servant said nothing at all your majesty." Xiao Zhan hurried to correct himself after seeing the dangerous aura emitting from Yibo's eyes.

This guy's hearing is off the chart! Xiao Zhan no longer dared to say the words out loud. He took a look at his wristwatch and saw that it had passed midnight. He realized that he wouldn't get any useful information from this so-called king no matter how long they talked. He also realized that he couldn't just leave this guy out on the street alone either. Thus, he was left with only one last choice.

"Your highness, you must be tired. How about we go and get you rested for the night?" said Xiao Zhan.

End of flashback

"Right. This is how the magnificent king grants me an honor visit to my humble nest," muttered Xiao Zhan as he scooped the fried rice into two awaiting plates.

"What kind of food is this?" Yibo looked at the food in disgust when Xiao Zhan placed it on the dining table in front of him.

"Have his majesty never had fried rice before?" Xiao Zhan rolled his eyes and slid to his own chair opposite Yibo.

"Fried...rice?" Yibo stared at the plate. "It looks and sounds foreign."

Xiao Zhan looked at the baffled king with fascination.

If he thinks fried rice is foreign, what'll he think of hamburger or pizza?
