1 And this is my life

Erica: Get out of here now!

I screamed, I could feel my throat burning. My voice rose from the depths of my lungs and as a tingling spread all over my body. The power of my phrase being so great that it became what all of me anxiously yelled.

The monster to disappear, to leave now, to no longer exist. He took a step backwards inadvertently, as if he received a push from my hand, a kick from my leg, as I accepted from him. For a moment I saw him standing with his back perfectly abutting the wall behind him.

Within the pupils of his eyes were two feelings, anger and hatred. Maybe that was the only thing to which me and my <father> looked alike. But it's not too long before the monster got angry

again and came at me in greater momentum, angrier than ever. But now I'm angry, too.

Like a torrent, I poured out and started to run. I didn't know which way, all I knew was that I was running to my freedom. An animal locked in a luxury cage, with food thrown from a skylight on

the roof, that's how I felt, and now I've been released.

I was running through the apartment building with the man behind me. If he caught up with me, I didn't know, would life be in my possession or would he steal it from me? For a moment I stopped. I looked around. The floors were full of apartments.

That day I knocked on a lot of doors. I begged them to open them up or even call the police, to do something to get me out of this. He was going to kill me... No one did, even though everyone knew me, everyone greeted me when they hit me in the hallways.

They were looking at my arms full of bruises , no one reacted. And here I am now alone, helpless with this monster chasing me to kill me... But no, they may not want to help me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to endure my torment by waiting to be transformed into a saint or something.

No. I can't wait. I'm going to fight, get out of here, and do whatever it takes. And that's when I got an idea, you might think it was crazy, but for me it was definitely the most spontaneous and irrational decision I've ever made in my life.

The only door I could see in the hallway, which seemed ideal at the time, was that of the elevator. I walked in, leaving behind the beast grunting furiously. I got away right before he

grabbed me and dragged me back to the cage. A cage full in luxury and riches.

A cage made of hatred, anger and terror. The elevator started coming down. I was struck by it's calmness. Smoothly it flowed down, then the characteristic sound was heard and the recorded

cold but polite voice announced the number of the floor I was.

I went to the left corner and collapsed trying to calm my heartbeat. The door opened and welcomed Mrs. Hope. That's how ironic her name seemed to me at the time. She was my

neighbor. He lived one floor below our apartment.

Erica: Mrs. Hope?

Nothing. She didn't come back to look at me either. She searched inside her purse for the key toher apartment and pressed the button. Second floor. The elevator started to go up. Slowly,

excruciatingly.

Erica: Mrs. Hope, can't you hear me?

I said louder with tears filling my eyes. She puffed up and quickly started hitting her foot on the floor. An annoying sound, with no rhythm. The elevator stopped and relieved me of her presence. He's not there, at least as far as I could tell before the door closed. I'd better stay here for a while...

Three, two, one. Go!!! The elevator's door opened and I ran home. My race had started and today. The steps are set, my actions as well. I opened the door, I walked into the apartment, I ran to the

bathroom and I locked, grabbed the toothbrush and toothpaste. 1, 2... 20 seconds ready!

I took the brush and ran back to the elevator. New record! I exclaimed as my day began. I put my bag on and walked through my school's big gate. Without much time being wasted, the bell

rang. It's time to start the first hour, History.
