Regulus sent a hidden thumbs up towards me, and a forced smile formed on my lips.
In the end, I shook my head since I was only feeling cringe through my inner thoughts.
I waited for the archbishop to settle his mind and heart before he finally faced the citizen, and his countenance quickly returned.
With a solemn expression, he swept his eyes, meeting a handful or two of eyes daring to meet his oppressive gaze.
He shouted, "Welcome, His Excellency, King Regulus Emberheart VII!"
At once, all the citizens knelt – though most had already genuflected the moment they saw Regulus.
Of course, staring at those flabbergasted citizens, I was not surprised that they forgot to genuflect.
"Stand up."
Regulus' voice echoed behind my back.
The citizens did what they were told.
