18 Chapter 17: Big Brother And Little Brother, Part 1

(I know I said I was on hiatus to watch One Piece, but I don't like the thought of leaving you guys hanging for so long. I've been real lazy with this book, but I'll try and change that.)

(If you're curious about my current thoughts on One Piece, it has already become my new favourite anime, putting MHA in second place. I'm currently on episode 149 as I am writing this)

-3rd POV-

Having arrived back to the lodge, Chikyu searched for Kota. Finding him at the hill view where he liked to spend most of his time, he approached him and sat next to him, gazing at the view.

The brothers sat in silence for a few minutes, simply enjoying the view.

Trees spread across the land as far as could be seen. Streams of water like long strokes from the brush of a paintbrush on a blank canvas dotted the landscape as well.

Birds flew over the scenery, aerial watchers admiring the landscape that some of them called home.

The brothers had different thoughts on the scenery.

For Chikyu, it was no different than when he was at the lodge. It was his home, and it would continue to be so. The same rivers, the same trees and the same rocks. Even amidst all the strange things that had been happening recently, it calmed him to see his home like this.

For Kota, it felt bittersweet. Sure, he agreed that it was beautiful, but every time he looked at it, he was reminded of life before that day. Before that villain killed his parents. When he would be woken to the love of his mother and father. Laughing at the dinner table, playing at the park, amazing him with their quirks. That had all been taken away in a single night, and it had been broken to him only hours after it happened. What he thought was a simple late night of hero work was in fact their last night of said hero work.

The only things he truly liked here were the Pussycats and Chikyu. The Pussycats were kind and understanding, and Chikyu was Kota's role model. He was the bravest and realest person Kota knew. He never cared about sugar-coating things or tip-toeing around things. He was always 100% honest about everything, no matter how bad it might be.

To Kota, that was incredible. He was so used to seeing Heroes carefully pick and choose their words in conversations that it astounded him when Pixiebob told him that when Chikyu met All Might when he was young, instead of fanboying over him, he insulted him.

"Piss off, Number 1 Actor."

That's what he said to All Might on their first meeting.

Chikyu had watched many videos of several different videos on the internet, and he hated almost all of them. Even 5 year old Chikyu had a pretty negative outlook on most things, and heroes were no exception. The only heroes he liked were those who were true to themselves, no matter what that entailed.

For this exact reason, his favourite hero was Endeavor, the Number 2 Hero. And why All Might was one of his least favourites.

When Kota learned of this, combined with already present knowledge of his bravery, he almost instantly set Chikyu as his role model.

Chikyu also very quickly became fond of Kota. He liked that there was someone else in the family other than the Pussycats.

And although he would never admit it, he liked the idea of being Kota's role model.

After several minutes of silence spent gazing, Chikyu broke the silence.

"Alright, what do you want to do today? Park again? Or something else?"

"Park. You promised to push me on the swings last time. I wanna do that."

Without any further words needed, Chikyu picked up Kota and put him on his back, and began running back to the direction of the city once again. heading for the park that Kota liked. He used to go there with his parents, so it meant a lot to him when Chikyu took him there.

Meanwhile, Chikyu was thinking about some possibilities that involved his brother and training.
