chapter two

I sigh as I sit up in bed, I had a pretty big party last night, everyone in the village was there. My parents died fighting in the war a few years ago for those damn blood born....the village raised me since...today I was officially an adult great right? Not really.

I sighed and Climbed out of bed slipping into my very soft fluffy slippers and took a deep breath which turned into a yawn. I went to the bathroom and gawked at the mess that was my hair. I quickly brushed it out and curled it ever so lightly. My long white hair falling into even beach waves around my face and upper back. My hair was getting long it almost touched my waste. After curling my hair I brushed my teeth and did my makeup I looked in the mirror satisfied with myself and went to my closet. Swinging open the closet door I pulled out a beautiful mint green spring dress with white lace off the should sleeves complimented by a pair of white lace flats as shoes to go with it and with that I was off.

Walking out the door waving at my neighbors with a cheerful smile. I got a few happy birthdays but mostly a simple wave. Everyone seemed a little off today I wondered why that was but didn't stick to much on it...I was rare I guess. I had pail white skin with pure white hair and red eyes. I never knew my parents but looking a pictures I never really looked anything like them, so I assumed I was adopted. I remembered one of the village lady's told me a story once. Said the reason I look this way is because my mother and father found me in a temple they were fighting against cultists attempting to summon the goddess and place her soul into a new born. And when they killed the cultists they found me laying on a stone table. I used to laugh at that story knowing it couldn't possibly be true.

I made my way to the village square "aria! Over here!" I hear a familiar voice shout I turn my head "Christian!" I said walking over to my best friend giving him a hug. Christian was one of my best friends he's been like a big brother to me for as long as I can remember. "That was a crazy party last night wasn't it?" He said a big childish grin on his face "how's it feel to be one of the adults now drinking and partying and having sex and all that?!" He said grinning. I flushed red and shoved him "come on you know I'm still a virgin besides I don't have time for men I've got plans for my future!" I said excitedly.

He rolled his eyes "yeah like what owning 50 cats and opening up a bread and garden shop". I punched him in the arm "for your information gardening is a legitimate gift" I said letting out a small chuckle. We sat down on a bench in town square by a large water fountain "so why is everyone on edge today Christian?" I asked as I took a sip of the lemonade he got me. His face went dark and his lips formed a thin line...the knees wasn't gonna be good. "Aria...make me a promise...you won't come out tonight." He said his voice flat and void of emotion. The breeze picked up blowing a strand of hair into my face. "The blood born will be visiting our town for the first time in 20 years...." my face went cold as I heard these words. Why now, what does this mean? What do I do? So many questions passed through my mind. He must have noticed my silence so he gave me a hug, "spend the night at my place tonight they won't know, come on what do you say?" He said trying to reassure me. I shook my head shaking off the feeling of pending doom "no I'll be okay. besides they wouldn't want a freak with red eyes right?!" I laughed making him laugh to "your right you are pretty weird aria haha" I slapped his drink out of his hand and he gave me a -wtf- kinda look and I just laughed. I spent the rest of the day sitting their reminiscing on when Christian and I were kids and as the sun started to set I made my way home.
