A Bloodbath
[Arius POV]
"ARE YOU READY FOR A BLOOODBAAAAAAATHHHH!!!!!?????"
"What is going on!!!?"
With the crows starting to cheer and roar louder than ever, we slowly get pushed to the side as more and more people come into the area.
With numerous seats lining the side of the pit, we soon find two empty seats and we quickly go to take them.
After a bit more squeezing through the crowds, we take a seat and just wait there to see what is going to happen. Soon, the man's voice appears again as we see people carrying two black boxes into the ring.
"For today's bloodbath, I introduce to you TWO monstrous beasts that have been brought from the Coalition with their roots traced back to the Chaotic Mutated S.T.A.s!!"
With the two black boxes being placed within the pit and all the people leaving the pit, with a snap of the fingers, one of the boxes becomes transparent. The shape of a giant snake came into view, it was a deep red colour with many black markings that ran down its tail. The weird thing was that the snake seemed to be asleep, not moving at all.
"Our first beast is a Mutated Death Poison Snake straight from a mutated Two-Plane S.T.A. It's said that its poison can kill a thousand men while being extremely quick and agile with tough skin that swords will do nothing against. An adventurer's nightmare!"
YEAAAAAHHH!!
As the crowd cheered on, the other box became transparent to reveal a giant tiger with giant fangs and claws. It had multicoloured markings all over its hide with three tails sticking out from behind.
"Our second beast is a mutated Elemental Tiger! With many magic affinities and a bottomless pool of mana, this monster from a mutated Two-Plane S.T.A. is a force to be recorded with. Close combat or ranged combat, this mighty beast can do it all!!!"
WOOOOOOOO!
"Wow! Big Brother, what's going to happen to those two beasts?"
"They are probably going to make them fight to the death. I've heard that nobles love these kinds of fights."
"Wow, that's crazy. What if one of them escapes?"
"There are guards around the place. Plus, the nobles and merchants also have guards by their sides."
Big Brother then points behind us before taking a glance above us. Looking behind, there were many many strong-looking guards that stood all around the seats. But unlike the guards of the city, they didn't have the symbol on them plus most of them weren't wearing armour.
Glancing above, I could see more people watching the action but unlike us down here, they had fancy seats with sections dedicated to each of them. All of them were wearing very expensive clothes. I could even recognize some of the merchants from two days ago.
'I wonder where Wilward went?'
ROOAAAR!!!

Just as I was thinking about the vampire merchant I met a few days ago, a large roar comes from inside the pit as I see the mutated Tiger starting to bash against the transparent box it was in. The mutated snake across from it had also woken up and started hitting the box with its tail. You could even see the venom that dripped from its fangs.
"Looks like someone's excited! Cast your bets now as we prepare to unleash these two monsters!!"
"YEEEEEAAAHHHH! FIGGGHHTTTT!"
As the crows got riled up, I also prepared to view the fight by activating my spectacles.
'As expected of Mutated Monsters.'
'Ah! Dakria don't scare me like that.'
Putting aside Dakria's sudden jumpscare, I could clearly see large amounts of red mana emanating from both monsters. I haven't seen a mutated monster since the first mutation event that happened a year and a half ago. Seeing the red mana that was constantly feeding on the blue mana around it, I could feel some tingles go up my spine as a few memories come back.
Soon, I see a dozen people circle around the pit with their mana flaring. Immediately afterwards, their mana leaves their body as it mixes with each other to form a barrier all around the pit.
"The Stages are set! The Monsters are Ready! Let's begin the BLOODBATH!!!!"
YEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Right after that, I see the barriers around the monsters disappear as the crowd starts to go crazy. Everyone yelling at the top of their lungs, and just the sheer sounds that were vibrating through the area made me squirm in my seat.
Pat pat
As I was overwhelmed by the sound, I feel a pat on my head that reassured me a bit. Big Brother's hand atop my head and his signature smirk made me calm down just a bit.
Ssssss GRRrrrrrrrrrr
As the crows started to quiet down, a hiss and a growl were the two main things everyone was focused on. After being released from their boxes, the two monsters didn't immediately start attacking instead surveying their opponent.
As the two monsters started to move, I see the Snake start to release a black gas that covers it area of the pit.
GRRRRRrrrr ROAR!
Just as the snake had disappeared inside the black mist, the Tiger released a loud roar, sending a gust of wind that blows the deadly mist away before lunging at the newly exposed snake.
HHHISISSSSSSS ROOAAARRR!!!
With flame-covered claws, the tiger brings his paw down on the snake but the snake weaves his way out and tangles the tiger by the abdomen.
HIIIISSSS Roooaaarrr! BAMMM!
With a brutal bit to its body, the tiger quickly roars in pain as it starts to move all over the place trying to get the snake off it. Seeing its opponent in a panic, the snake continues to bite the tiger before it gets hit flying to the other side of the pit. A rock-clad tail had swatted it away.
ROOOARR!
Letting out a roar of rage, a flash of lightning appears as the tiger appears in the air on top of the snake and with fiery claws, ripes a large chuck of meat and scales.
Sssssss Hissss
As blood got splattered everywhere, I grimace as the snake withered in pain with its tail literally being cooked alive. Suddenly the markings of the snake glow and the snake vanishes from sight.
Grrrrrr
With its paw still raised in the air, the Elemental Tiger notices that its prey had disappeared and starts to growl as it surveils its surroundings. For a brief moment, there was a period of calm so the announcer started talking again.
"What an amazing show we have so far tonight! Ladies and Gentlemen, these two ferocious beasts have shown off their mutations. The Elemental tiger has a speedy lightning affinity to catch its opponent off guard while the Poison Death Snake has the ability to become invisible to slither away and ambush its opponent."
"Big Brother, who do you think is going to win? The Elemental Tiger looks likes got it in the bag."
"Not so sure Arius, the tiger is already on borrowed time. The poison of such a serpent is no joke, I reckon it's going only a few minutes left."
"What?"
Looking back at the ring, I only then noticed the poison mist that the snake spewed out at the start of the match has covered the entire pit now. Also, the tiger seemed a bit unsteady after the snake bits.
Sniff Sniff Rooaar
The tiger takes a few sniffs of the air before turning around and with one claw scratching the air to reveal a giant snake which has now sustained another wound on its body.
"INCREDIBLE!! With its amazing sense of smell, the Elemental tiger could smell the burned flesh of the snake and thwart its potential sneak attack. However, is it just me or is the tiger starting to become slow? The poison is working its job. The next struggle will be the final one!!!"
OOOOOOOOOO!
As the crowd started cheering again, the snake quickly released more poison gas and the tiger closes in with its final strength. The snake tried to continue to back away but with its lightning affinity, the tiger quickly forced it into a corner and started clawing and bitting and the snake responded with its own bites. Their ferocity was something I never saw before.
ROoooAAAR HIISSSSS!
As more and more blood started flying everywhere, the tiger raises its claw a final time before falling to the ground and breathing its last. On it was numerous gashes and bites and black patches were visible on its skin.
The snake was doing no better. Only a third of the length it once was, it too was laying on the ground and its blood and flesh covered the ground.
"The winner is the DEATH POISON SNAKE!!!!
YAAAAAAA!!!
With the battle finally done, the entire crowd gets up to cheer and clap, even I joined in too.
"That was crazy!!!"
"EVERYONE EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY, TRILLIUM CITY GUARD!!!!!!"
"What?"
