1 Prologue
Alongside the birth of a certain world, a certain dungeon appeared. The place was never found for thousands of years and kept growing despite that.
Alongside the dungeon, the civilizations of that world and its inhabitants began to increase until some people found it and decided to investigate it. However, not a single one of those that entered the dungeon returned.
Many thousands of years had passed, and few people decided to investigate the place until someone finally left the dungeon after saying that he had conquered the place and obtained everything they wanted. That person called himself the dragon god, and he declared to the whole world that every year, ten thousand people had to enter the dungeon. Otherwise, some people will be forced to enter, and if they refuse it, their entire family will be killed by his curse.
After his declaration, the dragon god disappeared… people ignored his words, but one year later, people all over the world received the curse of the dragon god. Red marks appeared on their bodies, and if they didn't enter the dungeon before the mark took over their bodies, those related to them would die… some people decided to ignore it, and some didn't. In the end, over fifty thousand people died that year.
The curse persisted for over millennia, and people began to accept it like it was a part of the lives of those who were unfortunate enough to be chosen…
When Zane was five years old, his father received the curse of the dragon god… he didn't remember much about that time, but he remembered that his father said that he would return after reaching the final level of the dungeon. No one ever saw him again…
Three years later, Zane's mother also received the mark. He could remember how much she cried… she cried almost for one week before she left. The idea of leaving her young children behind truly broke her heart… After her farewell, she was never seen again.
From that day onward, Zane could recall his days more easily. Despite many hardships, Zane and his five years older sister worked together to survive in their poor village. However, when she turned fifteen… she also received the mark…
At that point in time, unlike many people, Zane began to hate the existence of the dungeon… such a cursed place took all of his family from him. Despite knowing that she was heading to her death, Zane's sister went to the dungeon with a smile on her face.
Zane planned to follow her, but the dungeon only chose and allowed the entrance of those who were older than fifteen. No one knew the reason for that. It was just one of the rules… one can only enter when they are fifteen, and one can only leave after reaching the final floor.
For four years, Zane did everything he could in preparation to enter the dungeon… he learned how to fight with a sword and unarmed, he learned blacksmithing, and he learned alchemy… he didn't know if he was going to encounter his parents and sister, but Zane was determined to destroy the dungeon.
