38 C38 - Dinner with the Mayor

We stood at the door, waiting. After several minutes, the door was eventually opened by another goat beastman. The other goatman surveyed our troupe before laying eyes on Selahe.

He said, "Brother! You're just in time!" Selahe stepped forward and they embraced. After they pulled themselves apart, the man said, "Forgive me, my lady. Welcome!"

My mother smiled and shook her head, saying, "It's okay, Tambo. I understand." Tambo, I assumed, opened the door completely and stepped to the side. He motioned us into the house. As we passed the door, I noticed how large and thick the doors were. Clearly, this place served as a fortification should the city come under attack. It also made sense that the leader of the town would live in the most fortified place.
