Alessandra looked out the window of her carriage as the duke's large estate came into view. She knew that it was large since she had passed by it many times, but now that her carriage was slowly heading towards the gates, she got to see more of just how big it was.
The carriage stopped right outside the closed gates, and from where she sat, she saw a guard come out to speak with the coachman. After a quick talk, the gates began to open, and the carriage started to move once more to take her to see the duke.
Alessandra took in the magnificent sight of his estate. Her father would kill to be able to enter the duke's gates. Everyone knew that you had to get permission from Edgar himself to be able to get inside his gates. If you did not heed the warnings of the guards at the gates, you might be killed since you were on his land.
