Awakening in an Unfamiliar Skin

[LISETTE]

I wake up feeling grudgey. My belly felt heavy, making me wonder why it felt like that. To my surprise, my belly is well round and bulging out.

"Oh my goodness! Wh-what is this?" I blurted out. I take a peek inside the clothes I am wearing to make sure it is my belly that is bulging.

"AAAHHHH!" I screamed when I could not hold it anymore. "This is a nightmare!"  exclaimed in my mind.

"Lisette!?" a lady came inside the room.

I just realized I was inside a room. It is a wooden simple and has the feeling of nostalgia yet it is also refreshing because of the wind and sunlight coming in. And the lady is wearing ancient western culture simple clothes.

She marched towards me and stood beside the bed. She is a cute lady with a long chestnut straight hair and a pair of lavender eyes.

"Lisette, are you hurt somewhere?" she asked worriedly.

"Who are you?" staring at her.

She is taken aback and looks at me surprisingly.

"You don't remember me?" she anxiously inquires.

I shake my head.

A man came in with brownish-black hair and a pair of brownish eyes. Both of them look like the same age as me.

"Lisette," the man spoke up as soon as she stood beside the lady who just come in.

"Darth!" the lady faced him with a teary eyes.

"What's wrong?" he holds the lady.

"Lisette doesn't remember me!" she said frantically.

"What?" his face looked troubled. "C-calm down first." consoling her.

"How can I calm down?"

"I already called the doctor. He will be here," comforting her.

"Where is the patient?" a doctor arrived.

The two of them gave way for the doctor and stood beside me. He immediately grabbed my wrist and checked my pulse.

"Excuse me for a moment. Her vital and the baby is fine," the doctor diagnosed after releasing my wrist. "Is there something you feel uncomfortable?"

"Who are you guys, I don't know any of you and where am I?" I said courageously.

The doctor furrowed his brow. "Seems the lady has an amnesia."

"Amnesia?" the lady repeated.

"Hmm!" the doctor nodded. "It might be the after-effect when she bumped her head during the accident."

"Wait, I got into an accident? What kind of accident?"

"But it wasn't an accident, it was intentional. Someone killed me."

"Right, you don't remember anything. You got into a carriage accident," the man explained.

"Carriage accident?" I repeated with a confused look.

"The carriage you were riding got turned over," the lady answered.

"Carriage? Amnesia? I'm so lost. All I can remember was that I was killed by…." I paused in my thoughts when I remembered who shot me to my death.

**** FLASHBACK ****

A man was standing across me. It was the man whom I knew the most.

"Greg!" I happily called out his name and picked up my pace heading to his.

I hugged him when I reached him. I distanced myself and looked at him. I was taken aback. His once warm smiling face, cold gazing strangely at me now.

"Greg?"

"Sorry," he murmured enough for me to hear.

"Yes?"

"I just need the money."

"Greg, what are you-"

I could not finish my statement as he suddenly pushed me away. At the same moment, I heard a loud car honking. When I looked at my side, the car light caused me blinding, and the next thing I knew something hit me that made me thrown away and rolled on the ground.

**** FLASHBACK END ****

"What is the connection me pushing on the road to the money?" I pondered, then realized the monetary he would get in my insurance.

"YOU CRAZY BASTARD!" I blurted out in anger.

Just then I realized the three people watching me shockingly.

"Ah, right. There are these persons here. Did they pick me up on the road?"

"Did you guys pick me up on the road?" I asked.

The two look at each other before looking at me. "We are together riding the carriage. When the carriage turned over, the three of us were inside. The three of us suffered injury but you were the only one who had been unconscious for a week."

"A week? It is still confusing."

I was startled when I felt something kick inside my belly. I just remembered my bulging round belly.

"And why my belly is like this?"

"You are pregnant, Lisette," the lady said.

"Ah, I see…. WHAT? PREGNANT?" I exclaimed.

"Hmm!" she nodded. "8 months to be exact. You are about to give birth."

"I WHAT?"

"I could not even remember having a good passionate steamy night with someone. I preserved my chastity for our wedding with the man who betrayed and killed me. And now, I-I… I suddenly will give birth?

Where is the so-called heaven? The cloud feeling? You know… the ecstasy and all? The feeling of coming to the peak? Where is it? Where is the JUSTICE?"

"Lisette, are you okay?" the lady asked worriedly.

"Why does she keep calling me Lisette? Do I look like this Lisette person?" I sighed in frustration.

Just then a breeze blew into the room from the open window. A long wavy black hair dances with air. As soon as I saw the hair my eyes widened.

"Did that hair come from behind me?" I picked up the hair and looked at it. "How come my brownish hair turned black? This…"

"Mirror," I mumbled. "Give me a mirror!" I panickedly said.

The lady hastily got a mirror and handed it to me. I grabbed the mirror and checked my reflection. As soon as I see my reflection, it is as if my whole world fell. Porcelain smooth skin, a beautiful face, black hair, and a pair of aquatic blue eyes.

"Is this me?" touching my face, then the reflection in the mirror.

I just stared at the mirror. "A new face, a round belly, pregnancy? Just what happened to me? I just fell unconscious then I am already like this?"
