This can't be real!

Laura kept inviting me to her house to do homework together and all kinds of girly stuff, but I got spooked out by Blake's words repeating over and over in my head "don't trust your friends", so I came up with an excuse to say no. I feel sad, because I really wanted to know how it feels to hang out with someone from school who welcomes you because they like you. Maybe another day, now I have to read the book, which is the main reason I came straight to my room when I got home.

I wonder how Nina is doing. I walk out of my bedroom and knock on her door. She doesn't answer. "Nina?" I call out but she still doesn't respond. Maybe she took some pills and fell asleep. I head to the bathroom and notice the light is on and the door is locked. Nina must be there. Instead of calling her again, I decide to invade her privacy and check her bedroom. When I enter, I see a mess of bloody rags, a med kit and band aids on the floor, next to her small desk… And then, I see the bloody sheets on her bed. The bathroom door opens and I get out of Nina's room immediately, closing the door, so she doesn't notice I was spying on her stuff.

Quickly, I walk towards the bathroom to meet her, and when I see her I gasp. "Nina!" I stand before her, still in shock by the gruesome scene in her bedroom and more so now, as I see her getting out of the bathroom limping with her arms wrapped in gauze. "What happened?" Nina doesn't answer. She ignores me and walks towards her room. "Nina, who did that to you?"

I follow her and she waves her arms in a dismissive way as she closes the door on my face. I open the door and she stands in front of me, looking furious. "You need to tell me what happened or I will tell Mrs. Flores that you lied about having your period, because clearly you need medical attention and maybe the cops too!" I dare to yell at her, but it is for her own good. What in the world happened to her? Nina sighs, giving up. "Fine! I will tell you, but promise me you won't say anything."

I fold my arms in front of me and wait for her to tell me what really happened." I snuck out last night with my boyfriend. We went for a walk at the park and a stupid dog got loose and attacked both of us. We started running but then I fell, cause it was dark. I got scratched by tree branches and rocks, and then, the damn dog attacked me. My boyfriend got it off of me and he got attacked too. The owner called his dog and it ran to him. We didn't say anything or asked for help."

"Oh my Goodness, Nina! That's awful!" Nina nods and sits on her bed. "But why didn't you say so to Mrs. Flores? You need to get checked out. Maybe the dog has rabies." Nina shakes her head. "No, I can't! I will get in trouble. I snuck out with my boyfriend, and he is older than me, so he can get in more trouble. Anyway, don't worry, I'm better now. My boyfriend went to the doctor and got medication and he is sharing them with me. Trust me, I will be fine. My wounds are clean and I'm already healing, according to the internet."

I look at her skeptically. "Okay, if you say so... but if I see you're getting worse I'm going to have to say something, even if it's a lie, so you can go to the doctor." Nina nods and smiles as she says thank you, and I take that as a sign of mutual understanding to leave her alone. I stand up and walk out. When I get to my bedroom I lock the door, and even though I am still shook up by Nina's condition, I know I must put that aside to read the book. So, without letting anything else distract me, I get the book out of my back pack. I stare at Wolfy to give me the courage to start reading, open the book and commence to read.

In another World the same God that created your world created ours. He created everything and everyone perfectly. He gave each creature different skills, abilities and attributes to help each other and live in harmony. Each creature depended on each other to fulfill their purpose in life, but one day an evil force grew deep inside one of the beautiful creatures.

This creature thought it would be better if he did not have to follow the order it was established by God. He believed his kind should rule the entire kingdom, since they were the strongest, but God has given them the honor of working the fields because of their strength.

He, whom we do not speak his name, a leader of the Kandreo Tribe, was empty inside and hungry for power. He wanted to be king, rather than serve. Back then, there was no other king but God Himself. The Kingdom was ruled by a council made of one representative per tribe. Evil made sure to separate all the tribes from each other, creating discord among them, eventually causing every tribe to hate each other.

Soon after the bond was broken between the tribes, the creatures discovered they were not perfect anymore. They noticed they had flaws and lots of weaknesses that prevented them from succeeding on their own, these weaknesses also confined them to certain territories. The tribes had no other choice than to stay within the boundaries that kept them safe. If anyone crosses to another tribe's region they suffer the consequences.

The evil creature did not care about the afflictions other regions would cause on the bodies of his fellow tribesmen. He risked his people to gain power, and declared war to all of the other tribes of the Kingdom. He expected them to bow down to him, as their new king, but the tribes refused to surrender.

It was a massacre. Lots of lives were lost and beautiful things and creatures were destroyed. Eventually, all that recklessness took a toll on the rebels. The evil militia were sick. Their bodies could not regenerate and heal anymore. They started to look like monsters. They even lost their minds, and some went against their leader, tired of the madness he was putting them through.

Terrified, all the tribes and creatures of the Kingdom agreed to form an alliance to establish order and feel safe again. Even though they maintained their distance, they started trading whatever they needed from each other. Finally, the tribes decided to elect a king that would rule them all. They agreed this king would rule all the regions of the Kingdom.

Since the Farrix Tribe was blessed with immense knowledge and science, it was most fitting to pick a king from their people, to lead with wisdom. A king was elected, and this one picked one of the creatures of the Forest to lead and speak for all of the creatures of the Forest, the Wolverian. The Wolverian creature became the Forest Ambassador.

God was pleased with these elections and blessed the Wolverian Alphas with the ability to speak like the people do. It was necessary for all of the creatures of the Kingdom to communicate, so God facilitated that, giving the Wolverian special skills. After the alliance was made there was peace, prosperity and technology grew in all regions, but one, the region of Evil... but God saw the suffering of these people too.

Even though they have brought judgment upon their kind, God was not happy about the way this tribe's generation was being punished. So in His Mighty and Merciful nature, God still saw a place for the Kandreo people among the rest of the tribes and the creatures He created. God promised that someday an union would be made between the Kandreo and another tribe, an union so powerful that it would put an end to the suffering of the Kandreo Tribe and unite the Kingdom forever.

The end? Really? This is it? Are you serious? I skip through the pages looking for more information. This is so weird. What does all this crazy stuff have to do with me and my real parents? Such a big fuss to read this book... Why? I grab the note that was in the book and read it again. "Find me in your dreams, Andreamaba..." I repeat the name in a whisper, Andreamaba, and all of the sudden my eyelids feel heavy and I can't keep my eyes open. I feel extremely tired, so I fall back on my bed and feel the book hit my chest as I quickly start to fall into a deep sleep.
