If all or most of the world's criminal enterprises were run by these criminal organizations, and if these organizations were answerable to the Cosmopolitan, then it made sense why they'd want a wielder of the black medallion within their ranks.

Just like how any legal business enterprise would benefit if they were in close relation with a high-ranking government official, the enterprise would be able to benefit from things like insider information, lobbying that was advantageous to them, getting a larger share of the pie, etc.

The same logic applied in the criminal underworld as well. In the end, it all came down to benefits.

"That's right. Benefit!" Daniel nodded in approval. "Right now, you're a hot commodity, and not many people know that you wield the black medallion. Imagine what would happen when they found out?"
