The Dragons wrath

Aegon the Conqueror was the first king of the 7 kingdoms. He had ridden valiantly into battle atop dragons alongside his sister wives. Although a great warrior, he was not a great king. What if Aegon the Conqueror was different? What if someone else took his place? SI into Aegon Targaryen the harem is only for his two wives. Slight AU but mostly follows the events of the books. (Not a great author. If you have constructive criticism then let me know I'll try to fix it but please don't be a dick. This is for my entertainment only so I couldn't be asked to look through them) (Also don't expect updates often. I'm signing up for colleges and have a lot of stuff to do so maybe one or two times a week maybe less)

In Eastern Westeros lies the smoking sea, where no ship dares sail. There are those who swear it to be haunted by demons, and who's to say they're wrong? For it was there that a cataclysmic event occurred. Destroying one of the greatest civilizations in history.

The precise details of their origins are lost to us, but it is said the Valyrians were once a modest community of shepherds. Tending their flocks on a small peninsula of the great eastern continent.

One fateful day, in a volcanic area known as the 14 fires, they made a shattering discovery, dragons.

They were monstrous scaled creatures with massive wings, sharp claws, and fiery breath. They are also said to have a deep-rooted connection to magic.

In time, the Valyrians were able to tame the beasts. Harnessing their immense power they established a city of wonder unlike any before or since. They became skilled at sorcery and metallurgy. Creating uncommon weapons of spell forged steal.

Wielding these weapons astride their dragons the Valyrians conquered the surrounding lands and slowly expanded west. At the time, the Ghiscari empire dominated much of the great eastern continent and tried to stop Valyrias expansion.

The Ghiscari legions attacked the Valyrians five times but could never defeat them. Finally, the Valyrians marched on their capital, Old Ghis, and obliterated it. Turning its streets and buildings to ash with dragonflame and wiping the Ghiscari people and their culture off the face of the earth.

The Freehold of Valyria, as it came to be known, became the most advanced civilization in the known world. With its own language, gods, and culture. The Valyrians reach extended far and wide covering most of the continent. Great cities were built and roadways paved, all of which lead back to Valyria.

At its height, the Valyrian Freehold ruled over half the known world. The Freehold would prosper, for nearly 5,000 years, but it was not to last.

An event that became known only as the doom laid waste to the Valyrians, their capital city, and its surrounding lands. The peninsula itself was shattered, becoming what is now the smoking sea.

Every dragon was thought to be lost. As were the Valyrian spells, knowledge, and recorded history. Thus, the mighty empire collapsed.

What caused this cataclysm? No one knows for certain. Some say it was a volcanic eruption, others say the Valyrians own sorcery got the better of them. In any event, the dooms devastation of the Valyrian people was total. With the exception of a small rocky island in the narrow sea, Dragonstone. For it was there the Targaryens the last of Valyria dwelled. They would lie and wait another hundred years before unleashing the fury of the dragons on another continent, Westeros. And at its front was Aegon Targaryen alongside his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys Targaryen.

He conquered Westeros and established the seven kingdoms. With his dragons, he took over land after land, city after city, kingdom after kingdom much like his Valyrian ancestors. He will be forever remembered as the first king of the seven kingdoms.

But what if it wasn't Aegon who landed in the seven kingdoms that day, but someone different. Someone more experienced and fearsome who was once a king of a great kingdom himself.

Floating in a black void, one can see a dim white light. It was pulsing, and it seemed to be alive. The pulses of light began to speed up before a gasp could be heard. The light had transformed into a man. He looked lost, scared, and nervous.

"W-where am I?" A shaking voice came out of the man's mouth. He had started shivering from the cold surrounding him, it was freezing in the void. He continued to shiver before a bright light warms him.

The light flies towards the man and similar to how he did before, pulses but becomes a woman. She was beautiful, with deep purple eyes, bright golden hair, and a soft face fit for a goddess.

The man can't help but stare at the woman. His bright blue eyes looking into her purple. A minute of comfortable silence passes before the man talks once more.

"H-hello?" In response to this, the woman smiles brightly, it was full of emotion. Like a mother greeting her son.

"Welcome, Dovah." The voice of the woman was melodic, like a song. The now named Dovah was startled at the voice.

"You...know me?" Dovah asked quietly. The woman nodded and smiled.

"You are one of the Champions. My champion." Dovah now showed a different expression, confusion. He had no recollection of being a champion in fact he had almost no recollection at all! He remembers only his name.

"You do not remember because when a mortal is killed their memories are taken while they are judged. I am here to offer you a choice." The woman informs him in a gentle tone. Dovah looks at her seriously.

"Who are you?" She once again smiles at his question.

"I am Rhea. The goddess of creation." Dovah nods before asking another question.

"What choice am I being offered?"

"A choice at a new life."

"A new life?"

"When most mortals are killed they are taken to either hell or heaven depending on the lives they lived. As you are my champion I wanted you to live another life, a happy life. Should you agree you will be reborn in a new world with the memories of your past to help you."

"I... accept." Dovah wanted to know who he was nay he needed to know who he was. Rhea smiled at him before snapping her fingers. As soon as she did, visions entered his mind. Death, battles, war, blood, burden, sacrifice, honor, duty.

He watched as he cleaved through armies whilst commanding the elements themselves. He watched as he valiantly led his men into wars. He watched as he sat on a golden throne overlooking a great kingdom. He watched as he was...killed.

He knew who he was. He was Dovah Angeles, King of Umbria and the Champion of Rhea. He was the envoy of the gods and the protector of his people. He was the greatest warrior the world has ever seen and he fell defending his people against a great demon known as Adramelech.

His goddess smiled at him once again before he was pulled from her presence and cast into the unknown.
