Chapter 7: A King and Queen come to visit.

One month has passed since the events of Cath Reidh and the lamia village. One morning Lancalot is woken by the ground shaking and feint yells. He throws himself out of the bed he was resting in, and he rushes to where the yelling is coming from.

Lancalot "what in the name of the gods is happening? An attack? Raiders? Giants? Whatever it is, it must be very strong to shake the ground like this."

Lancalot reaches the main gate and just outside it at the stable is where the yelling and shaking is coming from. Lancalot starts to get a good idea of what's going on, and slowly walks to the stable. Behind the stable Maclin and Valinteena are fighting each other with their dragon weapons.

Lancalot "I should probably stop them before this goes too far."

Milena "don't. Just let them fight."

Lancalot turns around and leaning against the stable wall is Milena and Lazariss.

They have been watching Maclin and Valinteena fight this whole time since they started fighting.

Lancalot "Lazariss? Milena? Ok what's going on? Please tell me why the Lazariss "basically Maclin wants to take the fastest horse out for a ride and a long one for some kind of patrolling thing or something. Valinteena doesn't want him to because the horses have been overworked lately according to her. At first, they started arguing, then that turned into this. Winner decides what happens to the horse. Either it gets to rest or not."

Milena "burp."

Lazariss "things have been a little dull, so we are letting this drag out."

Milena "I got ten gold coins on Valinteena."

Lancalot realizes that this could get very out of hand but also agrees with Lazariss. He stands next to Milena and watches them fight.

Lancalot "are you sure we shouldn't try to stop them or at least tell mother and father?"

Lazariss "and have them ruin the show?"

Milena slams a bottle of rum in Lancalot's stomach and chugs her own. Lancalot gives up and enjoys the rum and the fight. After a couple of minutes Lancalot had a horrible realization.

Lancalot "I just thought of something. If the shaking ground and sound of this fight was enough to be heard from an almost soundproof room, and wake me up instantly, then shouldn't it be able to be heard from the castle?"

Milena spit takes her rum and Lazariss' eyes go wide as the main gate doors are opened with enough force to shake the stone of the walls.

Lilynette "What is going on out here!? Where is that noise coming from and who is making it!?"

Lazariss "there is your answer."

Hearing their mothers voice, Maclin and Valinteena freeze dead in their tracks. Lazariss, Lancalot, and Milena are staying silent, hoping Lilynette won't notice them.

Lilynette grabs Valinteena and Maclin by their heads and hits them together.

Lilynette "you two had better have a damn good reason for fighting each other this early in the day and waking me up!"

Maclin "um well you see mother."

Valinteena "he wants to take the horse for a stupid personal patrol, but I'm not letting him because they have worked too much as it is."

Maclin "my patrol is not stupid. It is for ow!"

Lilynette smacked Maclin across the head with enough force to knock him to the ground.

Lilynette "no patrolling without your fathers' permission or mine. And you!"

Lilynette hits Valinteena in the back of the head, but not with the same force as Maclin. "you woke me up from a great dream! To the castle both of you, NOW!"

Valinteena and Maclin run back to the castle as fast as they can without question or hesitation. Lilynette then turns her attention to Milena, Lancalot, and Lazariss who were trying to slowly walk away.

Lilynette "and what are the three of you doing here?"

All of them "nothing!"

Lilynette "really? Nothing huh? So, this whole time they were fighting you did absolutely nothing to stop them knowing they were fighting for a stupid reason and knowing it might piss me off."

Lancalot "well…"

Lilynette "to the castle now! Before you aren't able to walk there."

Lilynette cracks her knuckles and they run off just as fast and Maclin and Valinteena to the castle.

Lilynette "huh…they are hopeless. Maybe if we are lucky, they will grow up or at least smarten up."

A few hours pass and Leon calls everyone to the meeting room for another discussion. And like last time Merlin joins them.

Maclin "so what is it this time? More deliveries? Or are we going to end a war before it can start again?"

Leon "no, no nothing like that my son."

Milena "then what is it we are here for?"

Leon "first things first, Merlin."

Merlin walks over to Lazariss and hands him a piece of leather armor.

Merlin "the armor you requested is finished. It fits of your left arm and shoulder. And you grow so will the armor, just like Maclin's armor and Leon's. It doesn't hold up well against physical attacks, but it is magically enhanced to repel most magic. Very powerful or extraordinary magic you will feel, but others will bounce right off."

Lazariss "thank you Merlin, you have my gratitude."

Lazariss puts his new armor on and Merlin leaves the room. Just in case you were wondering; Leon and Maclin's armor is made of reinforced steel. Back to the meeting.

Leon "now onto the main part of this meeting. King Kliment and Queen Jekaterina of Kholodno have requested to visit our kingdom. I said yes, and they will be arriving tomorrow."

Lilynette "grrr, Jekaterina."

Leon "yes, I know she's not your favorite person, but this will be a peaceful visit."

Valinteena "um mother, do you and Queen Jekaterina have some sort of history?"

Lilynette "you could say that. Every time we meet, she always finds a way to piss me off."

Lilynette grips the arms of the chair she is sitting in so hard that the wood begins to crack. Leon rubs her shoulder and she calms down slowly.

Maclin "so what do you need us to do father?"

Leon "nothing."

Everyone looks at Leon with confusion except Lilynette.

Lancalot "I'm sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean by nothing father?"

Leon "King Kliment and Queen Jekaterina are coming to see and speak to Lilynette and myself. They want to see how Lilynette and I are doing as a young King and Queen, they also want to see how we have run our kingdom."

Lilynette "I hardly see how that's any of their business."

Leon "So tomorrow I want the five of you to stay out of the castle and find something to do in the town, keep yourselves busy. Oh, and please try your very best to not break anything until the visit is over."

Lazariss "no promises."

They leave the room, Maclin, Lazariss, Lancalot, Milena, and Valinteena go back to their everyday routine. Leon and Lilynette wonder the halls together to talk to each other.

Lilynette "you could have said no."

Leon "that would have made it look like we have something to hide or don't trust them."

Lilynette "I know, but still."

Leon "Lilynette, I will be by your side all day tomorrow. If you get upset or if something bothers you, I will be there for you."

Lilynette "fine. But you owe me for this. And I'm going to make sure you pay in full."

Leon "I don't doubt that. Now let's go see the clothes makers. I had them make something special for you."

Lilynette "I am not wearing a dress. I hate them."

Leon "I know, I know please just grit your teeth and bear with it."

Lilynette "like I did when I married you."

Leon "ow. That one cut deep."

They head to the dress makers that reside in the kingdom, they make and sell dresses for everyone in the kingdom. These are the same people who made Milena's rather revealing dress. When they reach the dress makers, they have finished Lilynette's special dress. The main color of the dress is red with black along with it. It looks less like a dress and more like a fancy robe.

Lilynette "amazing work. I actually like it."

Leon pays the dress makers and they head back to the castle, and then retire to their room to discuss everything that they are going to do and what may or may not happen tomorrow. The next day arrives quickly and King Kliment and Queen Jekaterina arrive early in the morning. They are greeted at the castle main gate by Leon and Lilynette themselves.

Leon "King Kliment, Queen Jekaterina, welcome to Baile."

Kliment "Thank you King Leon, it's a pleasure to be here. Thank you for allowing us to visit."

Lilynette "Jekaterina."

Jekaterina "Lilynette."

Leon "shall we go inside?"

They head to the castle and enter inside. Leon leads Kliment, and Jekaterina on a full tour of their castle with Lilynette by his side obviously. They traverse the castles many rooms and corridors. When they are about halfway through the castle Lilynette turns to face Jekaterina and says, "What!? Why are you still staring at me!?"

Jekaterina "your dress."

Lilynette "what about my dress?"

Jekaterina "it's just that I thought you would wear something that makes you look thinner, not bigger."

Lancalot "how do you think things are going with our parents and."

Lancalot is interrupted by a sudden hole in the side of the castle and the clear sound of angry screaming.

Lazariss "that should be you're not so subtle hint that things could be going a lot better. And that is also my cue to leave."

Lancalot "woah wait what!? You can't just leave when this is happening!"

Lazariss "you want to get in the middle of that be my guest. We were told to keep out of the castle, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. All the way in the Lamia village."

Lancalot "seriously!? You're going to go that far away!?"

Lazariss "yes."

Back at the castle Leon is using all of his might in order to restrain Lilynette. Both Kliment, and Jekaterina are on the floor shaking in fear. Kliment looks at the hole in the wall, and then back at Lilynette.

Kliment "sh. She did that w. With just one punch."

After about five minuets of wrestling with Lilynette, Leon manages to calm her down enough to where she is no longer lashing about.

Kliment "well, that was somethngh!"

Leon grabbed Kliment by his shirt and pinned him against the wall.

Leon "Keep your wife's tongue in check, or next time I won't stop her."

Kliment "understood."

Leon lets Kliment go and once Lilynette has finally calmed down they continue the tour of the castle, this time Jekaterina doesn't say a single word. Kliment whispers to Jekaterina, "Why did you say that to her? Just to spite her?"

Jekaterina "It's personal between us."

Kliment "well your little rivalry almost got us killed. Next time you want to say something to her, don't."

Jekaterina "I am sorry. Perhaps I did go too far this time."

Kliment "you have my forgiveness, but it's not mine you need to gain. It's Leon and Lilynette's."

After the tour is complete, they head to the dining hall and enjoy a meal, with almost no arguing or fighting. After they finish eating, they say their fair wells to one another.

Kliment "Leon I feel just awful about the hole in your castle wall, please allow me to pay you for repairs."

Leon "No need Kliment. As generous as your offer is, it is also not necessary. Believe it or not we are quite used to repairing holes and such here, such as the one made today."

Kliment "If you insist Leon, the I won't object. We will take our leave now."

King Kliment, and Queen Jekaterina head back to their kingdom, while Leon and Lilynette head back to their castle and retire to their room for the rest of the night. Once in their room Lilynette pushes Leon onto the bed and gets over top of him.

Lilynette "hey Leon. Thank you for stopping me and standing up for me today. Even though I don't need it; it was still nice."

Leon "of course. Anything for you Lilynette, my queen."

Lilynette "The same for you Leon, my king."

Leon and Lilynette slowly kiss each other and spend the rest of the night embracing each other in bliss and pleasure. They weren't seen at all the next day.
