225 Winning by Points

Daniel observed Devon's brutal karate and felt, for some reason, that it was much more ruthless than Cobra Kai's. He couldn't understand how they, being good people, ended up in such cruel competitions.

"That girl is really tough; there is no mercy in competitions," Johnny excitedly commented, watching Devon finish the match.

"I guess there's more to this competition than just a simple victory." Chozen drew his own conclusions as he observed the conclusion of the fight.

As it was a three-point match, Devon had won with only two points, which was truly incredible. Devon, who looked at Claire, bowed slightly, then slowly walked away. Observing the crowd roaring, regardless of the fact that someone from another school had won, demonstrated how incredible martial arts could be.

"It was a good warm-up," Devon murmured, not looking back at Claire as she walked away. However, before that, she still had to see if Kim had watched her match. Turning her head, Devon shot a glance toward Kim's position, only to find that Kim had also been watching.

"Devon. That was brilliant." Tory congratulated her enthusiastically, aware that Devon had won.

"It was a good fight, well done." Chozen nodded towards Devon, who smiled slightly. Furthermore, Devon's stellar performance today made a significant impact, enhancing the competition on various levels.

Devon smiled a bit excitedly; she wasn't cruel to people but simply fought that way in competitions, and only a few people knew that.

After the duel, the competition continued. Now it was Antoni's turn, who ended up winning the match three points to one. Everyone could see that Antoni's karate wasn't bad, but he still wasn't fully letting loose in the fights, so they couldn't say much about Dash's replacement in this competition.

The next match was Hawk and Aisha's turn, who lost by one point because Hawk had won the fight but Aisha had lost, causing them to fall a point short of winning.

Having lost in this way, Hawk was quite upset but didn't say anything. He knew that they could have won with one more point from Aisha, but if he hadn't lost a point against him, they would have won.

When he realized that his own victory wasn't due to others' defeats, he knew perfectly well that it was his fault.

"What are the chances of Miguel winning against Jack?" Hawk looked at Devon and asked.

"I hate to say it, but he's up against Tory. Even though she knows about martial arts, she's not as experienced as Kim, and that plays heavily against her," Devon said, watching as the next match began.

Experience in martial arts is crucial as it allows the development of technical skills, tactical understanding, and a deeper connection with the discipline. Through continuous practice, practitioners gain perspective, improve their technique, and develop the patience and discipline necessary to advance in their development.

Devon knew that Tory was very good, but she was facing a level she may not have had the opportunity to face very often.

"But I'm sure she can at least not lose so easily."

"Point!"

Watching as Kim scored against Tory, winning the first point, Devon furrowed her brows slightly.
