223 The Competition Begins

At noon, the sun's rays pierced through the clouds, illuminating the earth with strength, and there was a lot of bustle at Seaford High School. When Dash finally sat among the audience, he knew he had the best position to watch the matches, and from his perspective, he would learn everything without any problem.

Although most of the students were from Seaford High School, there were a few students from Dash's school, and there wasn't much difference in the support given to those who would fight.

There was a lot of security, from police officers to volunteer adults who were responsible for evaluating students by checking their student credentials. If they didn't belong to either of the two schools, they would be escorted out of the premises. First of all, getting in was something very complicated, and if they were inside, it should be very difficult not to be caught. Although this competition is the first created between the two schools, many who had no idea what would happen were excited.

Down among the participants, Kim was nervous because she hadn't had such a large audience watching her in a long time. Jack, who was beside her, caressed her shoulder, trying to ease her nerves. Shortly after, he looked through the crowd and was surprised to see Dash, whom he initially thought would participate.

"What is he doing among the crowd?" Jerry asked, looking at Dash sitting as a spectator.

"I don't know, but everything indicates he won't participate." Jack felt a little disappointed because he wanted to fight Dash, but he knew there was a reason why he wouldn't participate.

Kim wasn't disappointed by Dash's absence and said, "I don't care, but I know Devon will participate. At least we have to beat her."

At that moment, the pavilion was filled with students, many singing, and others shouting nonsense that didn't make sense, but it was normal. Sitting in the middle of the group that came to support the students from Del Valle School, Dash was talking to everyone who hadn't been selected to fight. Suddenly, he saw Jack watching him and waved at him.

In past competitions, he was someone who was unwavering about winning a tournament, but this time, it wasn't necessary, and he knew perfectly well that his teammates had the chance to win. This was the first time he didn't participate and stayed among the audience, and feeling what it's like to observe people, he thought it was somewhat unbearable.

He couldn't do anything but watch Devon fight, and that feeling was exactly what caused him a bit of nervousness. "Now I understand what it feels like to be a spectator." Dash muttered, understanding Devon's words.

On the left side was Demetri, who didn't stop talking about things that Dash really didn't need to know or hear. "I'm serious; Jack is the kind of fighter that no one expects anything from and ends up winning."

"Can't your student stop mentioning unnecessary things?" Johnny asked, clearly listening to Demetri's bitter words.

Daniel raised both hands and said, "He can't help it. I've mentioned it to him many times, but that's how he is."

But Demetri, who didn't care about the looks around him, without wasting time, just as he was about to respond, Dash beside him said, "I defeated him in a tournament in Japan."

"You defeated him in Japan?"

"How strong is he?"

Dash looked at Jack in the distance and said, "There's no one except Robby who can withstand his strength a bit. Many might even consider it supernatural."

Seeing Dash's smile, Demetri was very surprised at not being able to find any falsehood in the words of this guy, who was a three-time champion in many important tournaments outside the country.

"Can everyone hear me?" At that moment, a voice came from the speakers, and a man entered the middle of the pavilion arena with a big smile.

"Yes!"

"How do you like the place?" The presenter smiled slightly and said, "Welcome to the first tournament between Del Valle School and Seaford High School. After several unfortunate events, something incredible has emerged."

Pausing, the presenter shouted, "This tournament is special because the rankings will be by team, which means that two matches will be taken into account to advance to the next round."

Hearing the rules, Dash knew that not all pairs of both schools were teams, and they would face matches on equal terms against other pairs. Everything would end when the teams of any school were completely defeated.

"The team tournament has begun!"
