Dahlia sat up on the bed, listening to Carter as she dried the tears from her eyes.

Once her emotions calmed, she sat quietly while her fingers nervously played with the hem of her dress. She glanced up at Carter, wondering if it was okay for her to come closer, as she was feeling chilled.

He leaned back on the headboard to relax. She caught him as he studied her with his cobalt-blue eyes.
