"No!" grumbled the old witch in irritation. "Pulling the barbs of the arrow backwards from the body is causing damage and leaking more deadly poison into his blood."

"Pushing the poison tip through will result in less damage. Once it clears the body, I will flush the wolfsbane from the wound. His wolf can take care of the rest."

"But we must hurry," the witch explained. I can sense his wolf's spirit is fading and growing weaker."

"First, we have to break the feathers off the arrow," the hag instructed, glancing at Angus since he was the strongest person in the room.

"Show me where," he glowered impatiently at the witch. She pointed her bony finger to the area on the arrow she wanted removed.

Angus snapped it apart with ease, leaving only the wood as he discarded the feathers on the floor.
