An Evil Spirit.

When I woke up, I saw the bright sun outside the cave from the gap at the top of the entrance. I used Chaos Breath to blast a hole in the wall. After we went outside, we were suddenly ambushed by a rabbit with a horn on its head. Seven other smaller bunnies followed it.

Cyrus and Ciara were about to attack the rabbit, but I stopped them and asked them to retreat back into the cave. Cyrus, Ciara, and the others were disappointed. Nevertheless, they listened and returned to the cave. However, Fiona understood the plan and was happy with the decision. The rabbit, thinking it was an easy hunt, followed the snakes into the cave along with other rabbits.

Once inside, I instructed Adam to block the exit completely, leaving no gaps. Terra used her skills, and the cave became dark without sunlight. The rabbits started jumping frantically around the cave. Before I could say anything, everyone understood the plan and activated their eye skills, taking out the rabbits individually using their fangs.

Cyrus and Ciara came to me and apologized for the misunderstanding. I understood why they misunderstood and told them that it was okay since everything had been cleared up. Adam used the Earth Hammer to create a hole in the wall, so we went outside to explore the surroundings. We found the cave where we were born.

Just when we were about to go inside, I suddenly heard gunshots. Since I have the hearing of a snake, it sounded even louder to me. The other snakes also heard it but were unsure of what it was. Screams followed right after the gunshots."

As we were getting closer to the origin of the sound, all eight of us were startled by the gory sight that lay before us. About 30 human beings were firing their weapons at a strange floating figure emitting a red aura. However, the bullets appeared to pass through it without causing any damage. Tyran, who seemed to recognize the energy being emitted, identified it as Evil Energy. The spirit looks like a 5 year old so, it seems to be a 1-Star Evil Spirit.

Suddenly, the spirit grew a few vines from the ground and pierced the humans, decimating all 30 of them in just a few minutes. After killing all the humans, it turned toward the eight of us, but it suddenly fainted and fell to the ground. We left to check it out and found that the spirit was a 'Nature spirit' that mutated due to extreme negative energy.

We were wondering what made it have such negative emotions, but Fiona called us and what we saw was a large patch of forest chopped down with only a thick tree in the middle. I immediately understood what transpired here, the tree was old enough, and when the mana recovered it gave birth to a spirit.

"I went to investigate the corpses of some humans to find any useful information. During my investigation, I stumbled upon a smartphone. I was shocked to see the date on the phone - it read 1st June 2020. It was the year of the apocalypse, and at that time, only a handful of monsters had reached the Beast-Warrior Level. Additionally, there were only a few humans who had awakened."

I found a bunch of camping gear on the humans. We can use it, but Adam can build a house out of the ground, so we don't need it. Suddenly, I thought there wasn't a human city nearby if they brought camping gear, meaning we were deep in a monster forest.

When I returned to the group, the spirit had woken up and was launching an attack on them. It appeared that only physical objects couldn't touch it, but mana could still hurt it. After a few minutes of fighting, the spirit fell to the ground and shouted angrily at us, saying, "Why are you humans always trying to harm the trees?"

The others appeared bewildered, and Aella inquired why this spirit believes we are humans. Suddenly, Ramiel grasped the situation and mentioned it was due to our current human forms. The spirit, overhearing our conversation, seemed extremely puzzled. When it witnessed us morphing into snakes, it finally comprehended that we were creatures capable of transforming into human forms.

The spirit had finally calmed down, and when Adam asked, it admitted to attacking the humans. Its face quickly turned angry as it explained with deep disdain that it assaulted them because they tried to destroy the forest. The spirit also mentioned encountering them when they entered the forest and warned them not to chop any trees unnecessarily.

They agreed with me so I didn't bother with them but suddenly I heard the cry of the other tree spirits. I rushed here only to see all my friends that I spent all my life with die in front of me and suddenly negative thoughts engulfed me and I wanted to kill the humans and before I knew it, I transformed into this and was killing the humans.

As I was thinking about why they specifically chopped down these trees it suddenly sparked that they are all spiritual wood. Spiritual wood is a good material for wood-type talents. These people must be after money after all spiritual wood was costly during the early stages.

Cyrus— "So you attacked us because you thought we were humans". The spirit nodded in affirmation. And as you can see, we are not humans so don't try to attack us in the future. The spirit glanced at everyone and agreed not to attack. Hearing this everyone calmed down. Everyone was about to leave.

I suggested that we set up a stronghold in this location since the cave is far away and there are no beasts nearby the cave. Ramiel then asked what we should do about the dragon inheritance cave, as we can't leave it unguarded. I suggested we could cover the entrance using Adam's skills so that no one would find it."

Ciara—but the walls surrounding the entrance are covered in moss and we can't just cover it up in a few minutes. The spirit who overheard this conversation offered to help saying it can cover the area around the entrance with plant life to make it more natural. I was hesitant about sharing the cave's location with it but we ultimately brought it there.

We were just about to cover the entrance when the spirit suddenly stopped moving and started staring into the cave in a daze. I noticed this and asked her why she was staring inside the cave. She was startled and said she felt a voice calling from the inside.

As soon as she said this, I was curious about the kind of voice that called to her. She replied that she heard a voice saying, "Come inside and soak in the pool to awaken the your bloodline." She didn't take it seriously and dismissed it as her illusion. When I heard this, I told the others what she heard, and we all unanimously agreed to take her to the pool.

I told her about a pool in the deepest part of the cave that awakened our bloodlines. If you're hearing this, maybe you're meant for it too. We led her to the pool and urged her to soak in it. At first, she was hesitant to enter when she saw the pool's blood-red color. We managed to persuade her by saying if she immerses herself in the pool, she may awaken her ancestral powers, enhance her ability to protect the forest, and grow stronger.

After hearing this she resolves herself and gets into the pool, when she does get in, she lets out a loud cry and by her face, she seems to be in pain. I didn't know why she was screaming in pain because when we were in the pool we didn't feel a tickle of pain. But she seems to be in complete agony. After a few more minutes, the screaming finally stopped.
