Elle raised her eyebrows. The curls on the corners of Magnus's lips were raised high. She had been too preoccupied with the loudness of her heartbeat that she had a hard time of pulling herself together. But finally she did. While looking straight at Magnus's eyes she sighed, "Please don't say things you don't mean."

"I am happy to see you, that's not a lie," Magnus narrowed his eyes slightly as if he was hurt that she had called him a liar.

She scrunched her eyebrows. Every words he said swayed her emotions and she couldn't understand if it was done on purpose. His grin was even more devilish, making her doubt Magnus even more. Whatever sort of attraction he felt to her, it wasn't something born out of love, she could tell that his attraction came from his delight that she could get rid of his boredom.
