Sunset

Walking up to the casement, I lifted my gaze to the sky and a big smile crawled up to my lips when my gaze fell on the beautiful sunset outside. Watching the sunset from the casement wasn't enough for me, I wanted to watch this beautiful sunset outside before it disappears.

Yes, I'll go watch the sunset outside and also watch the sun go down.

I said to myself in my head and I was pleased with that thought. But...there was only one problem. I want to watch the sky from a place where I can get a proper view of the sky and I know just the right place but... How do I get there?

I thought, tapping my index finger on my lips. A big broad smile made its way to my lips and I widened my eyes when an idea crossed my mind.

"I know exactly what to do." I mumbled before I immediately walked away from the casement and scurried up to the door.

.....

Drawing him from his dreamland to reality was the knock on the door. Opening his eyes and leaning forward, he lifted himself from the couch and walked up to the door, twist the door knob and pull it open. He didn't bother asking who it was after all, there were only two people residing in the whole of this mansion.

"Sorry to bother you hero but... Can we go to the rooftop?" I asked without holding back.

Narrowing his brows, "Rooftop," he mumbled, his voice almost inaudible, but I vigorously shok my head after reading his lips.

"Yes, the rooftop."

"Why?"

"I'll explain to you when we get there, please take me to the rooftop."

"In the whole of this mansion, why would you choose to go to the rooftop? Or are you..."

Shaking my head, "No, no... I'm not planning on committing suicide if that's what you're thinking." I said and I saw him heave out silent sigh.

"But why do you want to go to the..."

"Thank you..." I said, cutting him off, grabbed his wrist and began pulling him down the hallway.

"Ella..." He called out behind me and I knew he was trying to protect or refuse taking me to the rooftop.

"Yes hero, so where is the route to the rooftop?" I asked, loosened my grip on his wrist and turned my gaze to him, "Hmm?..."

"Ella, the rooftop is dangerous, you shouldn't be..."

"I'll manage, don't worry. C'mon take me there... Please, I need to watch the sunset before it vades away... Please" I pleaded and gave him the puppy doggy eyes.

Why do humans have to be so stubborn? He thought to himself and slowly shook his head. What's the need of arguing if she's this hellbent on going to the rooftop.

Heaving out a sigh, "Fine, I'll lead the way." He said and took two steps ahead of me but halted in his steps. I retreated my actions of taking a step to trail behind him when he suddenly stopped and began wondering why he stopped. I was left astonished when he suddenly held my wrist before he continued in his steps.

At first, I found it strange but just thought of it as him trying to ensure I stay behind him. With every step we took, my gaze didn't leave his fingers around my wrist. Strangely, his touch brought comfort to my entire body and his touch somehow made me feel safe. Lifting my gaze from my our hands to his back, I found myself speechless like my tongue was tied up. He kept motioning me without uttering a single word till we got to the rooftop.

With a soft and gentle touch of the wind against my face, a smile made its way to my lips when I diverted my gaze of the beautiful sunset. I settled myself down on the dutch gable rooftop and lifted my gaze to Raman who just stood there like statue without moving a muscle. I tore my gaze off him and diverted it to the sky with a big smile on my face.

"Isn't the sunset just beautiful?" I asked before tearing my gaze from the sky and diverting it to him.

"Don't tell me you're here cause you want to watch the sunset?" He asked, creasing a brow

"Of course, it's worth watching. Haven't you ever sat on the rooftop like this and watch the sky, admiring the beauty of it?"

"Nope, that idea has never crossed my mind. I'm too busy thinking about more important things than to sit and watch the sky."

"Important things like what?" I curiously asked expecting an answer from him, but he sealed his lips shut and didn't utter a word to me. "Why don't you sit and watch the sunset with me? This will be your first time watching the sunset on the rooftop with me." I said, giving him a warm smile, silently hoping he'll agree to my suggestion.

"No, I don't..."

"Please..." I butted in and held his hand. I felt him stiffen a bit when I touched him, I was expecting him to pull his hand away but surprisingly, he quietly sat next to me without protesting or uttering a single word. "Thanks." Letting go of his hand, I returned my gaze to the sky to watch the beautiful sunset and admire it while it lasts before the sky turns dark. With a smile on my face, I sealed my eyes shut savoring the gentle touch of the breeze on my body, sweeping away every strand of hair lying in my face.

Tearing his gaze off the sky, he turned his gaze to his right hand side and he couldn't help but admire the lady sitting next to him. He clearly remembers her saying the sunset is beautiful but, he guess she was wrong. Right now, the beauty of the sky couldn't compare to the beauty of the lady sitting next to him. His eyes were glued to her and he didn't want to look away. Never in his life did he ever stop for once to gaze at the sky to admire its beauty cause he never really appreciated the beauty of nature. Just a while ago, he wasn't willing to gaze at the sky or what so ever but, he's right here, sitting on the rooftop, watching the sky with Ella by his side. For the first time in his entire life, he actually saw the beauty of the sunset but even at that, to him, the beauty of the sky doesn't match up to the beauty of the lady sitting next to him. For the first time in his life, a lady's beauty actually got him this hooked up. Not just her beauty alone but her touch as well. He actually wanted to refuse watching the sky to admire the sunset but her touch made him change his mind the very instant she touched him. It was like her touch melted the stone heart he has long forgotten he had.

Why is this lady awakening strange feelings in him he has never felt before? How is she even doing it? Why did nature bring this human into his life all of a sudden? Why is he suddenly feeling this way towards her? What sort of feelings is she awakening in him?
