Chapter 7— The conversation of responsibility

"What?" She asked them finally, frustrated by their gaze and incredulous regards. Before she continued what she was doing.

"Yeah, It's hard to explain either but that's how Valor's body works. He's extraordinary really." Marcus said before muttering few words, Not heard with Sarah's ears, "We all are extraordinary."

"So you can leave him there because He'll wake up soon." Angela said before she started taking off her armor, they're soaking wet from that swimming before. The lock and belt were loosened, with the contraption underneath removed. Boots. Chestplate. Chain mail.

A Black T-shirt and her black jeans were left behind, She took out a powder from her bag before throwing some of it at the fire. The aroma of rose then tingled their noses, sweet and harmonic, with soothing feeling mixed. She placed her armor near the fire before she sat on a log.

Sarah looked at her with confusion in her eyes, "I thought you of all people would care when Valor is in this kind of situation, How can you place a fragrant dryer and stay calm!" she said angrily.

"Trust us okay, Valor is our friend for almost eight years. We know him very well, He has an abnormal body, with abnormal talent. This guy can survive a fall from our wall, and heal a cut in an hour— He would get up in no time. Besides, it was just a blow from a minotaur, nothing more can happen than this." Marcus said taking off his armor, He smiled at her before he tried to calm her down. "You don't have to do anything alright, He'll be back soon."

Sarah looked at him for a sec before raising her shoulder, doing what Marcus said, she relaxed, "Then I have a question... If it's only a blow from a minotaur- Ahhhh!" She couldn't finish because of the sudden movement of Valor, He jumped up while processing what is happening. "Ohhh, So we are camping now?"

"Nahh, We were waiting for you." Marcus said while he sat on a log, Valor then looked at Sarah and asked her with a smirk, "What you scared for?" But she didn't answered so Marcus answered him, "Yeah, It's probably because of you."

"Ohhh, yeah... Sorry about that, You must be thinking of me now like a weird zombie... Never mind, You'll get used to it. If you stay of course... Hehe." Valor chuckled while he looked at Marcus, teasing him about his past, "Yeah, shut up, They weren't just ready for your scare." Marcus defended himself, "Yeah, And the time they dumped you afterward." Angela said while she took out a pretzel in her bag, Chewed it with a smile.

"Hey wait a minute... I've heard of your condition before! You have a High graded body doesn't you!" They didn't expect it but Sarah became excited, not scared nor freaked out.

Valor just looked at her first, "What's that?" He finally asked when he couldn't remember hearing about it. "It's in the archives of granny, It said that there was once a way on how to measure talents, But as time passed by, it was forgotten because of how humans degraded away from being always on the edge— You know, the protest about the ban of inequality and end to discrimination agaisnt the weak skins. Bunch of high-steemed weaklings that chooses to stay in their house, Wants to ban inequality my ass, They just want to slack off."

"Anyway, it can measure the quality of your body and mana, I got B4M8. One to three is normal, Then four upwards is graded. They have names, Like 4 to 6 is elite. But I have forgotten about the other. But hey, your body is a great start!... So Can I run some experiment with them? I got this potion book from granny but it doesn't work well when my brothers drinks what I made so I was forbid from experementing on them again—maybe your body can take defects?" the three who were listening carefully all looked at her when she said the last part, The cave went quiet while throwing strange gazes at her. She looked around seeing their reaction, "What? Now you think of me as some weird dissector. You are all weird here okay, So I'll also let mine out."

They raised their shoulders and didn't mind her any longer, "So what are we gonna do next?" Valor asked, but he continued to speak when no one spoke, "Well I've already got what I want, Anyone here still didn't leveled up from the battle before?" All shook their head, so Valor also nodded and said, "Should we go home then?"

Angela answered, "Yeah, We got a lot to think about... Especially that scene, We need a lot of time to ponder all that had happened today... Anomalies?" she asked and all agreed.

"Probably anomalies"

"It should be."

"Anomalies."

"Alright, Let's get out of here and let the officers take care of the things happening here... How about another quest if an opportunity appears? Let's not pry our noses to something that doesn't concern us... Well, it concerns us but the officials should take care of it." He said before standing up, He patted the dust off and also seated on a log.

Marcus then started another topic, "So where will you guys have your internship?... It's hard to choose when there are many available." Marcus asked, He looked at the ceiling to ponder his future, leaned on his straightened arms.

"I'm thinking of Krigger, They prioritize mages there." Angela said and also looked at the ceiling.

"Do you guys think... there is a military school that accepts magic swordsman?" Valor suddenly asked, also looking at the ceiling, "Magic swordsman?' Marcus asked and looked at him, "Yeah, magic swordsman, public knowledge of it was banned, I mean the path isn't particularly banned. It's just that many fell into its past glories. It was said to be super hard."

"See told yah, There are other path for magic bringers." Angela said smiling to him.

"Oh, you mean like my Mechanical pugilist path... Yeah, I'm sure there would be some." Marcus answered him before he brought out a water bottle and drank water. "Mechanical pugilist? Like you mean a mechanic that fight with hands?" Sarah asked and he nodded, "I also want to fight with fists and machines, it's my trademark. And oh, The power I got is perfect for it."

He said and all looked at him interested, so he showed them his power. He raised his left hand with a smirk, and Everyone looked at it and observed.

Almost instantly, his hand turned copper. "Ohhh..." They held their tone while warthing, Slightly amazed. "Wait I can do more." He said hurrying when he saw their expression, His fist turned back to skin color before he took a rock, He concentrated before turning it into metal. "Wow, You're gonna be rich..." Valor said while clapping slowly.

"I'm sure I can instantly create a machine if I mastered this, Like make a cannon instantly popping on the floor. Can you guys imagine that! ... It's called the altering by the way. I can change the initial number of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Then add a bond. With that, I can change rocks into gold." He explained proudly, But none answered him— Instead they wore their serious faces. He looked at them confused before asking, "What's the problem?"

"So it was all real." Angela said saddened, She couldn't help but shake in fear.

"Of course it's all real, That scene, and this system that kept telling us to power up first." Marcus said with smiles, Slightly ridiculing her.

"Don't you see the gravity of that scene Marc?" Asked Sarah slightly annoyed of her boyfriend.

"No?" Marcus answered with her given tone, "It isn't something to be happy about because it gave us powers okay. We just saw the end, Marc. Do you know what that means? That scene of desolation is our premonition that the peace is near to vanish—another chaos whom humanity couldn't bear will appear. It means dead-end for my dreams to become a Saint medic cause probably every youth would need to partake in drafts and become the last resort of our race's survival."

"But we don't even know if it is true, I mean it could be a prank placed by trickster and cause us to wet our pants off with worry."

"You've got the ability to manipulate matter and their sate of Value, but you deny the existence of compensation?"

"They're generous I guess?"

She couldn't maintain her cool anymore so she pointed at his hand angrily, "That right there! Is both a mass-murder weapon and a money dispenser, then you think it is given to a dense boy in a whim?"

"Okay, Okay, let's say it's in the far future, but that's all we need isn't it? We could be dead by then or if not, We should be legends by then. We can do it in no time." Marcus said proudly, confident that everything would be all right.

"You think this gold piece of screen would appear and say "ohhh, there's going to be a chaos after the decade you died," and just us grant access to fricking trials that were supposed to be one in a million chance to take part of? No, cause they would grant it to those that will be alive of that era in order to strengthen them."

"Then we'll probably legends by then, which means it would be easy." he said with optimism while the two looked at her with unbelievable printed on their face. Angela looked at Sarah and talked with their gaze, discussing how can he exist.

"Are you really that dense? Or you're just not paying attention?..." After three seconds and Angela killed his optimism,

"Chill down guys, You are scaring me."

But Angela didn't and continued, "It's not the matter of time or generation, What you saw are multiple races! teaming up but was still defeated! Scraped and trashed into space of deep space! Can your future self can do it all?"

'I need to have stricter schedules, I need one thousand push-ups, one thousand sit-ups... Study magic circles for my magic body, Practice some skill for my sword, and merge it with my magic body... I gotta...' Valor stated in his mind, while Marcus answered them, "We have this new system to help us, don't we?...It said it will guide us for the better... And It is now saying to go home and practice... So I think we should do that, that way we can cool our minds off and be ready for the next mission. It is telling us what to do, for the better and victory. So chill down, we have things to do."

Valor stopped enumerating while the two girls sighed, Valor then said, "It said that we will prevent something if we saved those two... So we just prevented 'that' from happening, So that we can have the time to powerup. Then take care of it once and for all, let's not worry about the future first, let's worry about the things that will happen. It's a must to forge our future." Valor calmed his mind before saying that to them, he then nodded to all before suggesting, "How about we go back to raffvet(Their town), become stronger as we can before the bought time ends, while we investigate what is happening to our town. For sure it isn't something simple."

The other nodded before they all went quiet, they started to ponder the possibilities.

"So we just became characters huh, like those of the novels that have systems that give buffs to a lucky person. Those that are said to turn the fate of idiots to become a legendary genius." Marcus said while he looked at the gold screen.

"Wrong, I'm sure it didn't chose us randomly. And If that scene is real, I'm pretty sure we just time traveled." Angela said while she also looked at the screen, her status and skills.

"How do you say so?" Sarah asked curious, So she continued, "Those humans we saw are far beyond the famous people of our era. I also saw the system, It said the last mission, "Virus extermination, those who don't abide the rules aren't needed by this universe. Kill them!"

"But life is great now, why would we humans retaliate?" Sarah pondered.

"It just means that the peace we have now is near exploding, We don't know what will happen in the future. It may be peaceful now, But it can quickly change in a moment away. The appearance of a deadly disease, a huge rift, Invasion of other races, a change in monarch, or the fall of siege fortresses. Anything can change the way we live, now one thing is certain, if those happened, the malevolent system caused it all for a "fun" event. That will fuel the anger, and when it overflowed, humans and other races will seek strength to destroy the system it self. An inevitable war was bound to occur." Valor analyzed and explained.

"But don't you know, the more someone level up, The more he/she will grow out of the system's(the silver one) baby pampering mode, The mages builds their own grimoire, the blade bearers masters their own techniques, Bodybuilders will enhance their body on their own, Then the Weaponmolders would study it all. Don't you think it all connects to that scene? Maybe the Supremes are just so bored that they created this game?... still waiting for worthy opponents that can kill them." Marcus said.

Valor shook his head and asked, "would you do the trouble of abducting races just to kill yourself? Why don't they just dive into a black hole then?"

"Makes sense," Marcus said before their conversation continued, waiting for the night to end, Walking here in the middle of the night only means death.
