Chapter 17—Beta Event and Another Trial
"Sir, the telegram from the headquarters came!" a pair of feet again settled in front of his tent, "Come in John." Louie answered with his stiff voice, while he placed the last piece on his 3d map. Here stood the tents as the teams, camping in different places. Then the established flags where the entrances of the dungeon are located. But they won't attack yet without enough information about the enemy.
John with his brown hair came in, in syncing foot with the heavy tone of a soldier. He quickly passed the paper and Louie read it seriously. he ripped off the sealed part, and the glinting paper of the military was seen. With the big golden M at the background, and the gold vines at the edges. The approval made him smile.
"Hmmm." Louie made his impression while reading, three minutes later and he folded the letter before sharing the response with a grin. "The approval of the fortress was good, it is said it will commence in one week. But the warden they'll be sending isn't... To think they'd manipulated some strings there, they sent my brother."
"So the planet beyond this is already sold, sir?" John asked the general, "yeah I think so, another land for the main family of lustrave..." He then crossed-fingered in his mind, 'Hays, I hope he doesn't find out about Valor. Those outdated oldfarts don't back down just to have a muddy piece. "So this is the remains?" The three looked at the broken vile of glass, not touching it for the sake of their safety.
"That's the only thing I saw when I came back." Valor replied, while Angela took out a stick. It's her wand that is supposed to be sacred, yet she'll be using it as a poking device.
She moved the glass to inspect the vile furthermore, dipped the end of the wand in the solution before taking it out with a drop of water that remained. She inspected it for a while, before placing the drop of solution on a sealed plastic.
"Hey wait, there!" Marcus quickly pointed out when he saw something, behind the broken glass. Lied a hair, well that's what they thought.
Angela quickly removed the glass away using her wand, "A black hair? Val You sure you didn't just get into an accident and smashed your head on the glass? " Marcus asked while formulating a new possibility in his mind.
But his assessment was proven wrong when the tentacle suddenly moved, it wiggled while a silent screech was heard.
"My hair huh? Better just asked me if I'm Medusa." Valor said to Marcus smiling, before he looked at the wiggling hair and continued to ponder.
Angela on the side couldn't help but exclaim, seeing something she has never seen before. "Holy shit! This limb's regenerating!"

Missions:
Kill ten parasites- 100exp, 100 Battle points, F grade battle chest
Kill twenty parasite- 200 exp, 200 battle points, F grade battle chest
Kill fifty parasites- 500 exp, 500 battle points. F grade battle chest
...
Kill one boss- 500 exp, 150 battle points. E grade battle chest
...
Additional Rewards will vary on how well you perform! So do great, and maybe we can give you a legendary set armor or an immortal elixir. It's all up to you!"
The three were surprised when the silver screen lit up, it showed them the regard that made them excited and nervous.
But while they process the info, the other screen also lit up. It said.
"Trial: Mutation Alert!
Synopsis: The first boss will mutate in the property of lustrave! By then, the underlings will come to protect the king and will then welcome him for his first commands.
Requirements to partake in the trial are completed!
Requirements to complete the trial:
*Kill the first boss to lessen their growth, and buy you time for other things.
-Set the transmitter and get your radars! Locate the mutating boss!
-Ready your body as there would be a wave of infected monsters.
-kill the incoming boss, and have access to their language and other knowledge. (You must not hesitate, the medium is already dead!)"
The three looked at the two-screen surprised, "So we are really chosen to stop the outbreak of another multiple chaoses?" Angela asked, a bit excited about the event.
"Seems like it." Valor answered while he looked at his system.
"Wait, this transmitter that this system is talking about must be the machines I brought! I have the transmitter of that ashen laboratory and the other gadgets they created for these parasites." Markus said when he looked at missions of the golden screen.
The two looked at him before all ran to the sala, they then went to the cotton couch where the machines are found. The scrapped transmitter and the radars were then seen again.
"So we would need to set this transmitter, and through our radar, we can locate the parasite that will mutate. This transmitter has the span of the whole manor so we will surely locate it." Marcus said excitedly, while he started operating the transmitter. Looking at the scrapped transmitter of that laboratory, operating it again would take time.
Valor at the side couldn't help but think, 'This transmitter would take thirty minutes more... Wait, if these parasites came from underground, then...' He analyzed, connecting every possibility before three minutes later and he shoved a plan. "Angela, let Marcus do the nuts of the machines. We have some work to do.
"What work?" She asked looking at Valor.
"The lab was supposed to be under us, and the sewage where thousands of lives is also under us. If the parasite that finished cloning is to choose a spot to populate, near and convenient. Then it probably choosed the sewage, So we can expect the mutated monsters to be rats and other species down there." He explained while he looked around for the things he can use to plug.
Angela who heard him analyze, "So we would plug anything that goes underground or pipes they can use to move! That way we can lessen the minions that will welcome this boss!" Valor nodded while he took the cloths and sheaths.
"So that we can proceed unto killing the boss while it mutates." Valor said while he started walking, thinking about it, he again contemplated with another possibility.
"Wait, so we already choose to kill the boss here and now?" Marcus asked while he tightened a screw, looking at Valor with a demand of explanation. Because staying here can mean death, and the fact that they don't know anything about these parasites other than the archives isn't good.
"If we let that boss go, it would command the other. that means we will be endangering the lives of the kids... I mean those kids of their twelfth year down to infants." He quickly answered, while he took another sheet of cloth unto his arms.
Marcus hearing his reply couldn't help but smile, "A great leader would quickly think of how to strengthen his dominions huh, and kids still without paths are the ideal prey to devour. Strengthening its minions from being a rat."
"From what I have read, they are all mindless chickens without a leader. So they don't stay in groups without the pillar that holds the pack. So if we can kill that leader; we can buy time for us to have enough information about them." Marcus added.
"So we will buy another time, the other one from the kuruuk still doesn't have any advancement," Angela said while she looked went to that mission, it still says to get stronger.
"Well this one has another one right after the boss, We will need to expand our radar so that we can see them all," Marcus said while he tightened another screw.
"Common I need help so that we can do it faster." Valor said and she nodded while grabbing some sheaths.

From a bush of their garden, a rat came out. It has black hair, a slight redness mixed at the edges. Then a bulky build.
It walked on the grass while it smells something, passing by plants to plant. Before it arrived inform of the wall. And between this wall, a "metal wall" is also found— with a little space away from the stone ones.
It looked at it for a while before it started moving, and when it reached three-inch away from the metal wall. It walked with two feet and jumped on the metal ring that hung on the metal wall.
